Objective To study the innervation between baldder and rectum. Methods The retrograde fluorescent double labeling method was used.Propidium Iodide(PI)was injected into the right wall of the rectum of male SD rats and Bisbenzimide(Bb)into their right wall of urinary bladder. Results The fluorescent double labeled neurons were found in the right L6-S3 and L1-L3 dorsal root ganglia(DRG).Conclusion DRG cells at L6-S3 and L1-L3 simultaneously innervate the rectum and the urinary bladder, explaining that the abnormal micturition due to chronic constipation may be caused by axis reflex at the level of the peripheral process of DRG cells.

ObjectiveTo standardize the service for mental disability in community, and evaluate scientifically the effect of rehabilitation measures and social factors on the prognosis of disease.MethodsIn the communities selected by cluster sampling method, family-social rehabilitation service was established. The observe groups or specified observers were selected by the community committee, and the maintenance treatment and rehabilitation evaluation were made by psychiatrists.ResultsAfter community rehabilitation treatment, schizophrenia could be compliant with maintenance treatment, which led to satisfactory social function evaluation and rehabilitation result. Conclusion Community rehabilitation treatment could increase the compliance with medical treatment and decrease the occurrence of relapse.

OBJECTIVETo discuss the effect of Drynariae Rhizoma's naringin on osteoclasts induced by mouse monocyte RAW264.7.
METHODRAW264.7 cells were induced by 100 μg x L(-1) nuclear factor-κB receptor activator ligand (RANKL) and became mature osteoclasts, which were identified through TRAP specific staining and bone resorption. MTT method was sued to screen and inhibit and the highest concentration of osteoclasts. After being cultured with the screened medium containing naringin for 5 days, positive TRAP cell counting and bone absorption area analysis were adopted to observe the effect of naringin on the formation of osteoclast sells and the bone absorption function. The osteoclast proliferation was measured by flow cytometry. The effects of RANK, TRAP, MMP-9, NFATc1 and C-fos mRNA expressions on nuclear factor-κB were detected by RT-PCR.
RESULTNaringin could inhibit osteoclast differentiation, bone absorption function and proliferation activity of osteoclasts, significantly down-regulate RANK, TRAP, MMP-9 and NFATc1 mRNA expressions in the osteoclast differentiation process, and up-regulate the C-fos mRNA expression.
CONCLUSIONNaringin could inhibit osteoclast differentiation, proliferation and bone absorption function. Its mechanism may be achieved by inhibiting the specific gene expression during the osteoclast differentiation process.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of stable transfection of small hairpin RNA (shRNA) targeting Survivin gene on the growth of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) xenografts in nude mice.
METHODSAdenoid cystic carcinoma cell-2 line (ACC-2) was transfected with Survivin targeting shRNA eukaryotic expression vector, and stable monoclonal cells were selected. Transfected and nontransfected cells were respectively inoculated into subcutaneous tissue of nude mice as experimental and controls. Survivin mRNA expression of transfected and nontransfected cells were detected by reverse transcription-polymerse chain reaction (RT-PCR). Survivin protein expression of tumors was investigated by immunohistochemistry. The growth of xenograft tumors was observed by measurement of tumor volume.
RESULTSCompared to controls, the expression of tumor volume decreased in transfected group by pGenesil-shRNA-Survivin. The expression of Survivin mRNA and protein was obviously reduced.
CONCLUSIONSurvivin siRNA markedly suppressed the growth of adenoid cystic carcinoma cell xenografts in nude mice through lastingly inhibition effect on Survivin.

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference in clinical efficacy on lumber disc herniation (LDH) treated with Yaoyangguan (GV 3) between mild moxibustion under thermosensitive condition and that under non-thermo-sensitive condition.
METHODSFifty-seven LDH patients were selected as the study objects. Mild moxibustion at Yaoyangguan (GV 3) was applied for 45 min each time. Additionally, the conventional acupuncture was given, once a day, for 20 days. At the end of treatment, two groups were classified. A thermosensitive acupoint group (thermosensitive group) was composed of the cases with thermo-sensitization at Yaoyangguan (GV 3) and presenting for > or =4 times in the entire treatment. A non-thermosensitive acupoint group (tranquilization group) was composed of the cases without thermo-sensitization or the frequency of thermo-sensitization <4 times in the entire treatment. The modified Japanese orthopedics association scoring system (M-JOA) was adopted to observe the cases before and after treatment and 6 months after treatment in the two groups. The efficacy was compared between the two groups.
RESULTSAfter treatment and in 6 months after treatment, the score of M-JOA was apparently reduced as compared with that before treatment in the two groups (all P<0.05). The score reducing in the thermosensitization group was more obvious than that in the tranquilization group (both P<0.01). After treatment and in 6 months after treatment, the curative rate and remarkably effective rate were 89.7% (26/29) and 79.3% (23/29), which was better than 71.4% (20/28) and 60.7% (17/28, both P<0.05) in the tranquilization group separately.
CONCLUSIONMild moxibustion at acupoint under thermosensitive condition achieves the better short-term and long-term effects as compared with that under non-thermosensitive condition.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of post-traumatic complex posterior urethral stricture in the male patients. Methods Clinical data of 479 male patients with post-traumatic complex posterior urethral stricture were reviewed.One-stage resection of the stenosis and end-to-end anastomosis was performed in 422 patients and scrotal flap with blood pedicle posterior urethroplasty in 57.Results The mean operation time was 115 minutes(range,90-140 minutes). The mean blood loss was 225 ml(range,100-300 ml).No intraoperative blood transfusion was needed. The mean follow-up time was 15 months(range,12-24 months).Among the 422 patients performed end-to-end anastomosis,386 patients had good voiding and 36 had dysuria because of the formation of anastomotic stoma valve(21 patients)or stricture ring(15 patients). The problem was resolved by transurethral valve/stricture ring resection.Among 57 patients undergone posterior urethroplasty,45 patients had good voiding nine patients were found with anterior urethra-skin tube anastomotic stoma stricture,of which four patients were treated by urethral dilatation and five by endourethrotomy; three patients were found with posterior urethra-skin tube anastomotic stoma stricture,of which one patient was treated by urethral dilation and two by endourethrotomy. Conclusions One-stage resection of the stenosis and end-to-end anastomosis is the main treatment for post-traumatic complex posterior urethral stricture. If the condition of the patients does not allow the end-to-end anastomosis, posterior urethroplasty can be an alternative.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of progesterone on the growth and migration of breast cancer cells.
METHODSMCF-7 and T-47D cells were cultured in DMEM and stimulated with 100 nmol/L progesterone for 48 h, and the cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay, cell migration by wound-healing assay and E-catherin expression by Western blotting.
RESULTSProgesterone stimulated the cell proliferation and migration and down-regulated the expression of E-catherin in both MCF-7 and T-47D cells.
CONCLUSIONSProgesterone stimulates the cell proliferation and migration of cultured breast cancer cells, suggesting the clinical significance of anti-progesterone therapy in breast cancer.
