Objective To study the mechanism of CKLF1-plasmid transfer on the myocardial repair in rat AMI models. Methods Eighteen male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups and in each separate group, the rats were injected intramuscalary with plasmid DNA encoding CKLF1 gene(n=6),emptyplasmid(n=6)and saline(n=6)with in vivo electroporation respectively.Rats were subjected to left coronary artery ligation on the 6th day after gene transfer and were killed on the 21st day.The expressions of BrdU/?-actin,Ki67/?-actin were assessed by immunohistochemistry. Results BrdU-positive cells in CKLF1 group were more than those in the saline group and the empty plasmid group(cells/HP)(33.11?2.10 vs.14.16?1.63 & 18.46?2.77,P0.05).Conclusion Intramuscular injection with in vivo electroporation of CKLF1 may cause an enhanced myocardial proliferation of acute myocardial infarction tissue in experimental rat.

The resident match system established in 1952.And since then almost all of the senior medical students and international students have applied a position of resident training in this national system. They seek a respective resident program and hospital for training while the hospital hires students they preferred. The match procedure includes submitting application, interview of selected candidates, submitting rank-order list of both parties, centralizing matching service by computer and announcement of the results in Match Day.This is a relatively stan-dardized,rational and fair system which we can learn something from.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(01):-
Objective:To evaluate the safety of dental treatment in pediatric patients with leukemia. Methods:Eighty-nine patients were included and dental treatment was conducted under the condition of neutrophil counts ranging from 3.0?109/L to 10?109/L and platelet counts of more than 50?109/L. Supportive medical care was continued, the patients were monitored for at least one month after dental treatment for bleeding, pain, local and/or systemic infection, fever and other complications. Results:Dental treatments were performed successfully. All patients, except one with delayed wound healing after tooth extraction, recovered uneventfully. Conclusions:As long as the hematological values are within the suggested range, preoperative preparation and supportive medical care are well conducted, dental treatment can be safely performed in pediatric patients with leukemia.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2013;48(6):848-54
Aim of the present study is to investigate activation effect of nobiletin on cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) chloride channel activity. CFTR-mediated iodide influx assay and patch-clamp tests were done on FRT cells stably co-transfected with human CFTR and EYFP/H148Q. Nobiletin potently activated CFTR chloride channel activity in a dose- and time-dependent manner. The CFTR blocker CFTR(inh)-172 could completely reverse the effect. Preliminary mechanism study indicated that nobiletin activated CFTR chloride channel through a direct binding way. In addition, ex vivo tests done on mice trachea showed that nobiletin time-dependently stimulated submucosal gland fluid secretion. Nobiletin may be a therapeutic lead compound in treating CFTR-related diseases including disseminated bronchiectasis.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2013;33(12):1118-1122
OBJECTIVEThe demographic characteristics of acupuncture outpatient in China is investigated so as to provide clinical evidence for the establishment of acupuncture indication.
METHODSClinical epidemiological table was adopted to do cluster multistage random sampling in 36 hospitals of 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in 2008. The composition ratios of all indices were analyzed with SPSS 13.0 software. And trend analysis was carried out on the patient's demographic characteristics and the age distribution of clinical indications.
RESULTSIn the year 2008, 31 858 cases of out patients from 36 hospitals of 6 administrative regions were collected. There were totally 14 411 male patients (45.2%) and 17 447 (54.8%) female. The gender ratio of male and female was 82: 100. The average age of the patients was (50.6 +/- 17.7) years old. The number of patients over 45 years old was more obvious than groups of other ages (P<0.05). Age differences can be found in those 6 regions (P<0.05). Clinical symptoms varied according to different ages of the patients. Different characteristics of age distribution of acupuncture indications were held to exist (P=0.000).
CONCLUSIONAt the present, differences of gender, age and region can be found in out patients of acupuncture clinic. And the result shows that the number of female patients is more than male, with a large proportion of patients over 45 years old. Differences of age distribution characteristics of acupuncture indications still exist, which is considered to have the relation with the dominate indications of acupuncture and aging of the population.

Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2014;53(12):937-940
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of the three-category classification of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Methods Clinical data of 337 traditional SAP patients, who were admitted to Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH)from January 2001 to December 2012,were retrospectively studied. These patients were classified into moderately severe acute pancreatitis (MSAP) and severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) according to the latest 2013 Atlanta Classification.SAP patients were further categorized as critical acute pancreatitis (CAP) and non-CAP.Disease severity, therapy and prognosis among three groups were compared. Results Among the total 337 traditional SAP patients,253 were classified as MSAP and 84 as SAP.In the group of SAP,40 patients were categorized as CAP and 44 as non-CAP.Compared with non-CAP patients,CAP patients had significantly higher mortality rate which was 70% (28/40).Other results were all significantly higher in CAP group rather than non-CAP group, including ICU admission rate 77.5%(31/40),length of ICU stay (15.5 ± 20.6) days,Ranson,APACHE Ⅱ,BISAP,MCTSI,modified Marshall scores 4.6 ± 1.4,16.8 ± 5.8,3.0 ± 1.0,8.6 ± 1.7,and 7.4 ± 2.9,respectively (P < 0.01 in each endpoint). These parameters of SAP group were also significantly higher than those of MSAP group (P <0.01).Conclusions Using the new three-category classification to distinguish traditional severe acute pancreatitis, namely MSAP,SAP,and CAP,can better reflect the severity of disease, predict outcome and guide clinical management.

Journal of Geriatric Cardiology 2014;(3):245-252
BackgroundRevascularization and statin therapy are routinely used in the management of stable coronary artery disease. However, it is unclear whether the estimated high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particle size (eHDL-S), the ratio of HDL cholesterol (HDL-C) to apoprotein A-I (apoA-I), is associated with the clinical outcomes of diabetic patients with stablecoronary artery disease (CAD).MethodsWe per-formed a prospective cohort study of 328 patients diagnosed with stable CAD by coronary angiography. Patients were followed up for a mean duration of 12 months. The patients were divided into three groups by the tertiles of eHDL-S: low eHDL-S (< 0.71,n= 118); interme-diate eHDL-S (0.71-0.79,n= 111); and high eHDL-S (> 0.79,n= 99). The associations between the baseline eHDL-S and short-term out-comes were evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox proportional regression. Results The low eHDL-S group had higher trig-lyceride, hemoglobin A1c, uric acid, and leukocyte count than the other groups. During the follow-up period, 47/328 patients experienced a pre-specified outcome. According to the Kaplan-Meier analysis, the incidence of pre-specified outcomes was lower in the high eHDL-S group (P = 0.04). However, eHDL-S was not independently associated with adverse outcomes in Cox proportional hazards regression (haz-ard ratio (HR): 0.23, 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 0.01-11.24,P = 0.493).ConclusionAlthough the eHDL-S was associated with inflammatory biomarkers, it was not independently associated with the short-term prognosis of diabetic patients with stable CAD in the era of revascularization and potent statin therapy.
