Objective]To observe the clinical effect of chief physician Zhao Runchen’s therapy of nerve root type cervical spondylosis.[Methods]According to the random and parallel control test principles, 48 cases of patients with nerve root type cervical spondylosis were divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was treated with conventional massage combined with pulling therapy, and the control group was treated with conventional massage. After treatment every other day for 20 times, the clinical effect of the two groups and the visual analogue scale before and after treatment were observed.[Results]15 cases in the treatment group were cured, 6 cases improved, so the basic cure rate was 63%, and total effective rate was 88%. 11 cases in the control group were cured, 9 cases improved, so the basic cure rate was 46%, and total effective rate was 83%. Cure rate between the two groups had significant difference(P<0.01), and VAS score of both groups were significantly improved after treatment: the control group decreased significantly(P<0.05), and the treatment group showed extremely significant decrease(P<0.01). [Conclusion]Chief physician Zhao Runchen’s pulling therapy of nerve root type cervical spondylosis has a satisfactory basic cure rate.
8.Advances in research of ATP-binding cassette transporters in drug resistance mechanisms of intractable epilepsy
International Journal of Pediatrics 2014;41(6):636-639
Epilepsy is one of the common diseases in the nervous system with its complicated pathogenesis still remains unknown. The drug resistance mechanism of intractable epilepsy has always been a key point in the research of neuroscience.A possible cause for the drug resistance is the over expression of efflux drug transporters,e.g.ATP-binding cassette transporters, which may decrease extracellular antiepileptic drugs levels in brains of intractable epilepsy patients.ATP-binding cassette transporters are super family of transporter proteins that require ATP hydrolysis for the transport of substrates across membranes, including P-glycoprotein,multidrug resistance-associated protein, major vault protein and breast cancer resistance associated protein. They are major impediment for the AED successful treatment of many forms of refractory epilepsy in human. This paper reviews the research progress on over-expression of ATP-binding cassette transporters and mechanism of drug resistance in intractable epilepsy.
9.Telomerase reverse transcriptase gene transfection of human amniotic electrical mesenchymal stem cell transplantation for treatment of diabetes mellitus
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(36):5827-5832
BACKGROUND:The amniotic membrane is the rejected material after birth. Amniotic mesenchymal stem cel s are characterized as easy harvesting, strong proliferation ability, no ethical controversy, and low immunogenicity. OBJECTIVE:To electrotransfer human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) gene into amniotic mesenchymal stem cel s transplanted into diabetic rats and to explore its effect on diabetic rats. METHODS:Human amniotic mesenchymal stem cel s were isolated, cultured and electrotransferred by hTERT gene. Ten of 50 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized selected as controls, and the remaining rats were used to establish diabetic models through injection of 45 mg/kg streptozotocin. Thirty-six model rats were randomized into model group, cel transplantation group and hTERT-transfected cel transplantation group, with 12 rats in each group. In the latter two groups, human amniotic mesenchymal stem cel s and hTERT-transfected amniotic mesenchymal stem cel s were injected via sublingual veins, respectively. After transplantation, blood glucose levels were monitored dynamical y, and plasma insulin concentration was detected every week. Pancreas tissues were taken and cut into sections for histological observation using hematoxylin-eosin staining. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 4 weeks after transplantation, the blood glucose levels were significantly lower in the two cel transplantation groups than the model group (P<0.05), and especial y in the hTERT-transfected cel transplantation group, the blood glucose level was close to the normal value (P>0.05). However, the model group stil had a higher blood glucose level. At 6 weeks after transplantation, compared with the model group, the plasma insulin concentration was significantly increased in the two cel transplantation group (P<0.05), and the severity of pancreatic injury was also eased in these two groups (P<0.05), especial y in the hTERT-transfected cel transplantation group (P<0.05). These findings indicate that hTERT-transfected amniotic mesenchymal stem cel transplantation can dramatical y decrease blood glucose level and relieve pancreatic injury in diabetic rats, which is an effective method for treatment of mel itus diabetes in rats.
