2.Study on the oral contraceptive pill use in Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh city
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;494(11):40-42
The study on the oral contraceptive pill use in 722 women at reproductive age in 2003 was reported that: The highest rate of use oral contraceptive pill in the group of women at 26-49 years old (92.1%); Women educated from primary to high-school levels accounted for 74.1%; Women with 1-2 children accounted 84.5%; For income 60.6% of women with the range from 300000-700000VND/monthly. The most popular contraceptive pill was Ideal (76.2%). Adverse effects of taking pill were nausea (17.9%) and putting on weight (11.9%).

3.Average age of Olympic champions
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(1):33-34
This study is aimed to design software to calculate and administer database ‘Sport performance of some Olympic champions’, firstly manage sport performance of 624 Olympic champions in order to calculate their average age. Data was collected by 936 information reports of performance. Results showed that average age of champions was 23.9 years old. This average age was analysed according to continents, countries, and sports

4.The relationship between head/abdomen circumference ratio and fetal age
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(3):29-32
In this study, 123 normal pregnancies were performed 649 times of ultrasonographic examinations. Results: there is a correlation between the ratio of head/abdomen circumference and fetal age as following: primipare Y = 1.842633 - 0.029259X + 0.0000047X3, r = 0,777; multipare Y = 1.672611 - 0.022408X + 0.00000278X3, r = 0,795; (Y = Head/ abdomen circumference; X = gestational age). Determination of ratio of head/abdomen circumference will help making early diagnosis abnormal fetal development, so it's necessary to apply this ratio in clinical care

5.A cohort study on the relationship between abdominal circumference and gestational age from 28th week to 41st week
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(4):30-32
he relationship between growth of fetal abdominal circumference and fetal age was examined between 28-41 weeks' gestation in 123 normal singleton pregnancies by ultrasonography. The findings have shown that there is a high correlation between abdominal circumference and fetal age as follows: primipare Y = -183,008 + 16,392X - 0,002X3 (r = 0,928); multipare Y = = -164,330 + 15,712X - 0,002X3 (r = 0,935). Fetal abdominal circumference is different between studies and ethnic groups, especially in near full term fetal. It's important to separate fetal abdominal circumference in first-born fetal and second-born fetal. The ultrasonic measurement of the fetal abdominal circumference is a sensitive and precise variable for estimation of fetal growth and development

6.Some remarkable on percutaneous laser disc decompression results according to age
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;472(2):40-42
At the Centre of Biophysics from June 1999 to December 2003, 499 cases of herniated lumbar disc divided into age groups of < 30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and > 60 years old were treated by percutaneous laser. Excellent results achieved in 32.3%, good in 46.7%, medium in 18.2% and poor in 2.8%. There was not died case or severe complication. Laser technique could be used for the elderly because of the physical state, associated disease with high risks and difficulties in other surgical interventions.

7.Study on the femur length chart by ultrasound to treat gestational age and estimate either gestational development is normal or malformation
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;296(3):28-34
Study on the correlation between the femur length and gestational age from 14-30 weeks. Determination of numeric value table of femur length in correlation with centesimal line 5, 10, 50, 90 and 95 to make a basis to built fetus’s femur length chart, applying to monitor normal or malformation status of fetus. The results: fetus’femur length have a closely correlation with gestational age belong to a second-class function: y = 0.0019x2 +0.2377x + 11.1892, r = 0.97, in which, x = gestational age, y = femur length. Based on this chart, the accuracy of the dating random error about 1 week. The earlier, the estimation of gestational age, the more accurate

8.Ultrasonic crown-rump length (CRL) measurement of fetus in assessing gestational age
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;458(8):28-31
Study the correlation of fetal crown-rump lengtht (CRL) measurement and gestational age of 6 to 14 weeks in 100 pregnant women. Results: there is a close correlation between CRL measurement measured by ultrasound and gestational age, with correlation function y = 0.86x2 - 7.53x - 18.78; correlation coefficient r = 0.998. Thus ultrasound can be used to measure CRL for diagnosis of gestational age, with the range was within 3.7 days of menstrual age. The rate of change in CRL was 7 mm/week between 7-10 weeks and 13.5 mm/week between 11-14 weeks

9.Study on ethnic specifility of growth adjusted sonographic age of Vietnam
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;285(6):32-39
The biparietal diameters (BPD) chart may not be used universally to define pregnancy date. The results of this study proved obviously that the prediction of gestational age (GA) by using the BPD chart 1 (Vietnam) and BPD chart 2 (Europe) are significantly different: Approximately acurate prediction < 7 days: 75.2% (chart 1) and 20.8% (chart 2); Pregnancy dating error > 7 days: 16.8% (chart 1) and 79.2% (chart 2); Maximum error: 16 days (chart 1) and 28 days (chart 2); GA prediction lower than actual GA: 36% (chart 1) and 95.2% (chart 2). Chart 2 is less accurate than chart 1 as a predictor of gestational age in Vietnam

10.To find the correlation between abdomen perimeter and the fetal natural age from 28 to 41 week age
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;469(12):39-41
The relationship between the growth of fetal abdominal circumference and the fetal age was determined by ultrasonography during the 28-41 weeks of gestation in 123 normal pregnancy. A closed correlation was identified and an equation was established
