Objective To investigate the level change of interleukin-4(IL-4) and IL-12, and their effect on airway inflammation in rat asthma. Methods Rat model of asthma was set up by ovalbumin sensitization. Total cell count and eosinophil count in branchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were performed, and levels of IL-4 and IL-12 in BALF were measured by ELISA. Results After ovalbumin sensitization, airway occurred obvious inflammation. Eosinophil count began increasing at 1 hour after sensitization, obviously increased at 8 hours, reached a maximum at 24 hours, started declining at 96 hours, and decreased to near normal range at 7 to 14 days. The changes of total cell count had the same tendency as eosinophil count changes. The level of IL-4 in BALF elevated at 1h after sensitization, reached a maximun at 8 to 96 hours, and reduced to near normal level at 7 to 14 days. The changes of IL-12 in BALF had the same tendency as IL-4 level changes. Eosinophil count was positively related with IL-4 level(r=0.74,P0.05). There was a close correlation between IL-4/IL-12 ratio and eosinophil count (r=0.85,P

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2001;18(1):26-29
A 40Hz event related potential(ERP)detecting system is introduced here. The system employs the elliptic—type filters which have excellent edge features to extract signals of narrow-band frequency . It e xploits the correlation—threshold method proposed by us to cancel the musc1e ar tifacts. We also realizes the automatic control of experiment procedure and stat istical data processing in microcomputer.

Objective To compare the serum anti-survivin antibody levels between benign and malignant lung tumor, thus to provide evidence for using anti-survivin antibody as an indicator in non-small cell lung cancer. Methods ELISA was used to measure the level of anti-survivin antibody in healthy population(control group,n=60),benign lung tumor patients(benign lung tumor group,n=60) and non-small cell lung cancer patients(non-small cell lung cancer group,n=60). Results The anti-surviving antibody did not express 11.7%(7/60) in the control group and almost no expression 20.0%(12/60) in the benign lung tumor group, with no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).In the non-small cell lung cancer group, the anti-survivin antibody expressed in 41 patients, which was significantly higher than those in the benign lung tumor group(x2=38.352,P<0.01).Conclusion Anti-survivin antibody does not express in the healthy population and the benign lung tumor patients, whereas shows high expression in non-small cell lung cancer. This finding indicates that anti-survivin antibody can provide important evidence for non-small cell lung cancer diagnosis, and can be used as an indicator for non-small lung cancer screening.

Objective To investigate the place reaction of support drainage tube in cholecystojejunostomy and its pathological changes. Methods Eight pigs were randomized into 2 groups. The tube-placing cholecystojeunostomy(n=2)or choledochocholedochostomy(n=2)and non-tube-placing cholecystojejunostomy(n=2)or choledochocholedochostomy(n=2)were performed respectively. All the 8 pigs were sarcrificed 3 months after the operation for pathological examination. Results Gross anatomy catheter group showed anastomotic inflammatory hyperplasia, wall hardening hyperplasia, luminal narrow contracture and stone formation.Microscopic biopsy showed bile duct mucosa in interstitial lymphocytes, plasma cells and other chronic inflammatory cell infiltration, a large number of fibrous tissue hyperplasia. However, these features were not found in pigs without placing the tube. Conclusion The tube can not prevent the stenosis. It might promote the formation of stricture since it can stimulate inflammatory hyperplasia and tissue hardening.

The simulation of excitation propagation's process in human heart is one of the main aspects of ECG forward problem. The simulation results not only are the criterion of the simulation model's precision and reliability, but also have great value in researches and diagnoses. We performed the simulation of QRST waves of complete left bundle branch block (LBBB) and right bundle branch block (RBBB) in virtue of a vector propagation algorithm (VPA), which is accurate, efficient and applicable to anisotropic computer heart models. The simulation results accord with the actual QRST wave in clinical practice.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2004;21(5):766-769
A high frame rate (HFR) ultrasonic imaging method developed by Jianyu Lu has been attracting attention in the related imaging area. Because a special weighting on the received signal is needed to implement this method, the imaging system is complicated. This paper presents a new kind of theroetical analysis for the HFR imaging system in view of the angular spectrum concept. Based on the study, the special weighting process can be replaced by Fourier transform. Computer simulation demonstrates the correctness of the analysis. It shows that the constructed images by the new method have the same high quality as those obtained by using the original HFR method while the system implementation is greatly simplified.

Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer 2006;9(5):469-470
BACKGROUNDAdenosquamous carcinoma of the lung is a rare pathologic type of lung cancer. The aim of this study is to explore the clinical features of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung.
METHODSA total of 115 patients with adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung were retrospectively analysed, who were diagnosed by operation and pathology.
RESULTSAmong the 36 female patients, 7 were under 49 years (19.44%). There were 14 patients (12.17%) without any symptom and 16 patients had residual carcinoma at the resection margin (14.04%). The degree of lymph node metastasis was 37.51%. The proportion of stage III patients was 54.78%.
CONCLUSIONSThe incidence of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung in young women (under 49 years, especially under 39 years) is rather high. The residual carcinoma at the resection margin often occurs after routine operation. The degree of lymph node metastasis is rather high.

Objective:To study the efficacy and safety of high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (hrTMS) in migraine without aura. Methods:A prospective sutdy was conducted; 74 patients with migraine without aura had definite diagnosis in our hospital from September 2019 to November 2020 were chosen and divided into hrTMS treatment group ( n=39) and control group ( n=35) by random number method. Patients in the hrTMS treatment group were treated with hrTMS once per d; the stimulation frequency was 20 Hz, each stimulus consisted of 20 sequences, and the amount of stimulus was 500 pulses; the treatment lasted for 6 d was as a course of treatment, and the next course of treatment was conducted at an interval of 1 d; a total of 4 courses of treatment was given. Patients in the control group were treated with pseudo-stimulation; treatment frequency was the same as above. Patients in the 2 groups were given oral conventional migraine drug (celecoxib, 0.2 g per time) according to the demands for analgesia (visual analog scale [VAS] scores≥4). The evoked potential N100 amplitudes and therapeutic effects 1, 2, and 4 weeks after treatment were evaluated and compared between the 2 groups; the occurrence of adverse reactions was observed. Results:There were significant differences in VAS scores and N100 amplitudes at each time point before and after treatment in the hrTMS treatment group ( P<0.05); the VAS scores decreased with time, while the N100 amplitudes increased with time. At 2 and 4 weeks after treatment, patients in the hrTMS treatment group had significantly lower VAS scores and statistically higher N100 amplitudes than those in the control group ( P<0.05). As compared with that in hrTMS treatment group before treatment and that in the control group at the same time point, the average days of headache per month in the hrTMS treatment group 4 weeks after treatment was significantly decreased ( P<0.05). No epileptic seizure, hearing loss, scalp burn or other adverse reactions occurred in the 2 groups after treatment. After treatment, there was no statistical significance in the incidence of dizziness, head discomfort, tinnitus or other adverse reactions between the 2 groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Long course of hrTMS can effectively improve the pain degree of patients with migraine without aura, and reduce the number of headache attacks, without obvious side effects, which is worthy of clinical application.
