Cancer Research and Clinic 2009;21(8):476-478
Objective To evaluate the feasibility and short-term outcome of laparoscopic operation for colorectal neoplasm in comparison with open operation procedure for colorectal neoplasm, laparoscopic operation for colorectal neoplasm may be critical in the evolving practice of medieine. Methods 234 cases of colorectal neoplasm were divided into two groups and was analyzed. 103 patients with colorectal neoplasm underwent laparoscopic operation (LCS), while 131 cases received open operation (OCS). Results The mean operating time in laparoscopic operation group was significantly longer than in open operation group (P <0.05). The blood loss was less. Time to pass flatus, time to ambulate and return of bowel function were restored earlier in laparoscopic operation group than that in open operation group (P <0.05). Duration of hospital stay were longer in open operation group than that in laparoscopic operation group (P <0.05). There was not significant difference in the length, distal margin, size of tumors and number of removed lymphatic nodes(P > 0.05) between the two groups. Laparoscopic colorectal resection is better in pathologic sample compared with the traditional open operation procedure. Conclusion Laparoscopic colorectal resection is secure and effective for colorectal neoplasm, and it is with lower blood loss during operation, earlier return of bowel function and shorter hospitalization, and provide better short-term outcome compared with the traditional open procedure.

Objective:This study aims to explore the relationship between serum response factor (SRF) expression level and gas-tric cancer progression by detecting SRF expression level in cancer cells. Methods:The SRF gene in SGC-7901 cells was silenced by RNA interference. Transfection efficiency was detected by fluorescence microscopy, cell proliferation by CCK 8 method, SRF gene and protein expression level by real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot, and cell cycle by flow cytometry. Results:Cell treat-ment with siRNA-SRF induced significant reduction in SRF mRNA levels. Western blot analysis showed that SRF protein decreased by 40.1%in the siRNA group compared with that in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with the blank, negative, and mock transfection control groups, cell proliferation of the siRNA-SRF group decreased. The inhibition ratio reached 64.24%, as measured by the CCK-8 assay (P<0.05). Treatment with siRNA could block SGC-7901 cell cycle at G0/G1 phase (P<0.05). Conclusion:SRF expression is close-ly associated with gastric carcinoma cell proliferation. SRF protein level detection can provide a certain reference value in evaluating malignant gastric carcinoma progression. SRF is possibly an important target for the prevention and control of gastric cancers.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1984;0(01):-
Hepatic carcinomas were induced with the administration of diethyl-nitrosamine (DEN) in rats. The morphological changes of the liver tissues in the course of carcinogenesis could be divided into 3 successive stages: the nonspecific changes reacting to the drug toxicity, non-cancerous hyperplastic nodules of hepatocytes and ductular cystadenomatous lesions, and the lesions of genuine malignancy including hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. The ultrastructural alterations of hepatocellular carcinoma showed a complicate picture and were related to the differentiation of the tumor cells. In one case of cholangiocarcinoma, numerous cytoplasmic dense-core granules similar to the neurosecretary granules seen in apudoma were found in some of the tumor cells, which is postulated to be a special type of cholangiocarcinoma. On the basis of the results, Ihe histogenesis of the neoplasms after DEN administration is considered to originate from hyperplastic nodules of hepatic cells and ductular hyperplasia.

There are a large amount of neural stem cells in the olfactory system which have an active proliferation, ongoing and direc-tional differentiation and migration in order to adapt to the changing environment. The clinical findings showed that the early stages of some neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease all presented dysosmia. In recent years, the relationship be-tween air pollution and dysosmia attracts public concerns. This article introduced some research progresses in this field.

Objective To measure the expressions of IL-10, IL-23 and CD86 in lesions of epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV), and to explore the relationship between cellular immune abnormality and EV pathogenesis. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to measure the expressions of IL-10, IL-23 and CD86 in tissue samples from 10 patients with EV and 10 normal human controls. Results Three cytokines were observed in all the samples of EV, with the expression score ranging from 3 to 6 and expression intensity from moderate to high. However, of the control specimens, only 1 was positive for IL-10 with the expression score being 3, and expression intensity being moderate. Conclusion The pathogenesis of epidermodysplasia verruciformis may be correlated with the expression abnormality of some cytokines secreted by keratinocytes.
