Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2002;26(1):3-6
Described here is the progress of the electrical treatment for arrhythmia during the past half a century. The mechanism, their expression and the principles of electrical treatment for bradycardia, tachycardia and fatal arrhythmia--ventricular fibrillation (VF) are introduced respectively. The current situation and future development of the pacemaker, RF ablation and implantable cardioversion defibrillator are also discussed in the paper.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2008;32(3):190-197
In order to supply the multichannel electrical stimulator, a DC-DC flyback switch mode power supply based on a high-performance current mode controller UC3845 has been designed. The experimental results indicate that the power supply has satisfied the demands and can supply the multichannel electrical stimulator and similar apparatuses.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2005;29(6):396-398
This paper presents an algorithm for data interpolation and approximation used in the whole atria mapping. Multilevel B-splines are introduced to compute the whole atria surface through a set of irregularly spaced points and to draw the 3D isopotential map, which can reflect the conduction process of depolarization in complex arrhythmia such as atrial fibrillation.

Microchip MSP430F149 is used to control DAC to attain an amplification-controllable analog output of data of MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database which is useful in testing medical machines. Data are written into Smart Media (SM) Card with Fat Format to make convenient the replacement of database.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2005;29(2):84-86
In order to realize epicardium dynamic mapping of the whole atria, 3-D graphics are drawn with OpenGL. Some source codes are introduced in the paper to explain how to produce, read, and manipulate 3-D model data.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2008;32(2):79-82
A new denoising method is presented in the paper, based on the independent component analysis(ICA) and the noise independent component selection measurement which is the dispersivity of the independent component's projection coefficients to each electrode. The results indicate that the method can denoise EPM signals with giving prominence to electrodes' true depolarization signals. So it' s fit well for the EPM system.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2008;32(1):32-39
According to the instruction of the operator, the designed programmable multichannel stimulator will deliver stimuli with an assigned amplitude and a proper width to the electrode-array in various modes. Each stimulation time is controlled by the internal timer of the MCU, while the stimulated electrodes' spatial parameter is controlled by the CPLD. Having abandoned conventional isolation using the transformer, we have adapted optical coupling and stable float ground connection to achieve the safety standard required by physiological measurements.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2007;31(6):415-418
This paper introduces the design of a device which combines the waves with notes from standard MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database to generate a signal source. The device displays both waves and notes on LCD while the waves are being output, making things convenient for testing and observation. In addition, this generator includes some necessary test signals stated in our new National Industry Standard on Medical Instrumentation as well.

OBJECTIVETo explore the technique and therapeutic effect of bridge wire splint fixation with ankle dorsiflexion for the treatment of femoral shaft fractures in young children. Methods:From June 2006 to June 2012,45 young children with femoral shaft fractures were treated by bridge wire splint fixation with ankle dorsiflexion, which was designed according to arch bridge mechanical principle and structure. There were 31 males and 14 females with an average age of 3.2 years old ranging from 8 months to 5.5 years old; 14 cases were upper 1/3 femoral fractures,26 cases were middle 1/3 femoral fractures,5 cases were lower 1/3 femoral fractures; 20 cases were transverse fractures, 14 cases were oblique fractures,6 cases were spiral frac- tures, and 5 cases were comminuted fractures. X-ray, follow-up imaging changes, clinical curative effect and complications were assessed.
RESULTSForty-five patients were followed up for 6 to 21 months (averaged 12 months). All fractures were reached clinical bone healing after 5 to 7 weeks (averaged 6 weeks) fixation. Seven cases appearred limb soft tissue complications, including buttocks bedsore, dorsal foot and Achilles tendon epidermal necrosis, and healed after dressing and removal of external fixation. During follow-up,the original overlap angle and lateral displacement were remodeled, and limbs were restored to the normal line of force and bone structure. According to Flynn standard, 35 cases got excellent results, 8 cases good, 2 cases fair.
CONCLUSIONThe bridge wire splint fixation with ankle dorsiflexion for the treatment of femoral. shaft fractures in young children (less than 6 years old) is safe, feasible, simple, and has raliable effect, which can be applied in primary hospitals.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2006;30(1):25-28
The external defibrillator is an emergency instrument used very widely in clinics. It plays an important role in rescuing ventricle fibrillation (VF) patients. We have designed an external defibrillator using the truncated exponential biphasic waveform. The system consists of three parts: the ECG collection module, the control module and the defibrillator module. They are introduced respectively, listing the main problems and the methods to solve them. Some experiments have been done and the corresponding results are given.
