Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2012;21(2):126-128
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of moxibustion on the expression of tryptophan hydroxylase 2(TPH2) mRNA in median raphe nuclei and the activity of monoamine oxidase (MAO) in serum and cortex in depression model rats and to explore its mechanism.MethodsFemale SD rats were randomly divided into control group(n=6),model group(n=7) and moxibustion group(n=7).The rat depression model was induced by giving isolation-housing in combination with chronic unexpected mild stress(CUMS) for 21 days. The hemi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was employed to detect the relative expression of TPH2 mRNA,colorimetry was used to test the activity of MAO.ResultsThe expression of TPH2 mRNA in median raphe nuclei in rats of the moxibustion group was higher than that in the model group( relative dentisty value:(0.3759 ± 0.0272)vs(0.2573 ± 0.0581 ),P < 0.05 ).The activity of MAO in serum and cortex was reduced in rats of the moxibustion group( ( 1.919 ± 1.243 ) U/ml,( 1292.048 ± 90.072 ) U/mg protein, respectively) compared with that in the model group ( (4.117 ± 2.727 ) U/ml,( 1441.345 ± 117.050 ) U/mg protein, respectively).ConclusionMoxibustion has the effects of improving depression, increasing the expression of TPH2 mRNA in median raphe nuclei and reducing the activity of MAO in serum and cortex might be one of its mechanisms.
4.Research Advance in Relationship between Environmental Estrogens and Disorders of Male Sex Differentiation
Journal of Environment and Health 2007;0(10):-
The reproductive toxicity of environmental estrogens(EEs)has become an extensively studied subject in environmental science and reproductive medicine nowadays. Many epidemiology data and experimental evidences indicated that EEs may significantly cause the disorders of male sex differentiation such as microphallus, hypospadia, cryptorchidism and masculinization behavior disorder and so on.The mechanism includes estrogenic activity,anti-androgenic activity as well as other feedback regulation and signal transmission which influence hormones metabolism.

Objective To investigate the clinical application and value of spiral CT(SCT) in the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombus. Methods Spiral CT scans were performed for 4 cases clinically confirmed as RCC with IVC tumor thrombus. The imaging findings were checked with post operative pathological findings. Results RCC with IVC tumor thrombus were assessed in all the 4 patients by SCT.The carcinoma stage and the type of the tumor thrombus were also determined.Operative findings have been the same as SCT. Conclusions SCT,a non traumatic and effective method, can make accurate diagnosis of RCC with IVC tumor thrombus, providing much more information for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2000;0(04):-
Objective To explore the effect of ischemia-reperfusion injury on the retinal functions of rats. Methods Seventy Wistar rats were selected, 20 of which were selected randomly and divided into two groups (control group and single-irrigated group). The rats were anesthetized and their anterior chambers of the right eyes were cannulated with a 7-gauge needle connected to a reservoir containing ringers balanced salt solution, which was maintained at the same level of the eye for 1 hour. After that, ERG was recorded in both eyes of all rats. All the left rats were divided randomly into 10 groups and they were treated as the single-irrigated group. Retinal ischemia was induced by raising the reservoir to a height of 150 mm Hg. One hour later except the single ischemia group, all of the groups resumed perfusion after 3,6,12,and 24 hours and 3,5,7,14,and 21 days separately. ERG was recorded in both eyes of all rats. Results There was no difference in the results of ERG between left and right eyes in either the control group or the single-irrigated group. All the waves of ERG vanished in the single-ischemia group after 1 hour. In the ischemia-reperfusion groups, the waves of ERG partly recovered and the amplitude reduced persistently and progressively. Conclusion Ischemia-reperfusion injury may affect the function of the retina persistently and progressively.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 1992;0(01):-
Objective:To explore the utility of psychiatric service of clients having online counseling for anxiety or depression. Methods:The anxiety group was consisted of clients (n=107) who were positive in the Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) online, similarly the depression group was consisted of clients (n=102) with positive results in Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) online screening. Both groups were investigated with the questionnaires include issues related to the clinical features, diagnostic categories and treatment vs professional advice on clients. Results:In the anxiety group (male 69/female 38), the average age was 28+8, 88(82.2%) with more than 15 years education. In the depression group (male 57 vs. female 45), the average age was 29+8, 81(79.4%) with more than 15 years education. None was illiterate. For the age, sex, education and occupation, there was no significant difference between the two groups. 81(79.4%) clients in the anxiety group and 89(87.2%) clients in the depression group were advised to visit psychiatrists or psychologists. A few were advised to counseling online only and there was no significant difference between the two groups. The main diagnoses were mood disorders, neurosis and psychogenic disorders. Actually, 29(27.1%) in the anxiety group were treated with anxiolitics, 31(30.2%) in the depression group were treated with antidepressants at local clinics. Conclusion:Most of the clients should visit psychiatrists or psychologists, and a few may have their psychological counseling online only. Health education and psychological counseling online may be helpful to improve the rate of diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in local clinics.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(03):-
MicroRNAs (miRNA) are a newly discovered class of endogenous, evolutionarily conserved small noncoding RNAs involved in posttranscriptional gene regulation. Functionally speaking,miRNAs act as key regulators in a wide variety of biological processes, including cell proliferation, cell differentiation, apoptosis, metabolism, developmental timing, signal transduction and tumor. Recent publications have provided compelling evidence that a range of miRNAs are involved in the regulation of immunity, including the innate immunity, proliferation of monocytes and neutrophils, the development and differentiation of B and T cells, infection and immunity, and the release of inflammatory mediators. In this review,we examine what is presently known of the function and mechanism of these miRNAs in the regulation of the innate and acquired immune response.
