In this study we synthesized a micro- and mesoporous material, SBA-16. And later on we functionalized it with octyltrimethoxysilane and octadecyltrimethoxysilane, respectively. The materials of SBA-16 and its functionalized form were characterized by nitrogen adsorption isotherms at 77K, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and adsorption isotherms of single component n-heptane, toluene and water vapour. The data of FT-IR and TGA demonstrated the successful chemical modification of surface and porous wall of SBA-16 with different hydrocarbon chains. The results of SAXS, nitrogen adsorption at 77K, and adsorption isotherms of probe molecules revealed that the functionalized SBA-16 materials possessed relatively less regularity, smaller BET surface area and pore volumes, and lower adsorption capacities for the probe molecules compared to the original SBA-16. However, the functionalized SBA-16 materials showed much less affinity to polar molecules such as water. This work provides useful fundamental information for future study of novel mesoporous silica materials as potential drug delivery carriers.

Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with the highest incidence rate and mortality in the world today. Although significant progress has been made in the treatment of lung cancer, its 5-year survival rate is still very low. Ferroptosis is a cell death mode characterized by an increase in intracellular free iron, lipid peroxidation, and accumulation of reactive oxygen species. More and more evidence suggests that ferroptosis plays a crucial role in the occurrence and development of lung cancer, and exploring the mechanism of ferroptosis in lung cancer is of great significance for finding new diagnostic and treatment methods for lung cancer. This article reviews the regulatory mechanism of cell ferroptosis and its role in the occurrence and development of lung cancer, with the aim of providing new directions and ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

Objective To analyze the composition and influencing factors of the hospitalization expenses of patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases who has participated in basic medical insurance, and to provide evidence for controlling excessive increase in the hospitalization expenses and reducing the financial burden of patients. Methods The hospitalization information of 14,271 insured patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 in Xianning City, Hubei Province was retrospectively collected. The basic information of the patients and the composition of their hospitalization expenses were descriptively analyzed, and the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses of the patients were analyzed by univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis. Results Among the patients included in the study, coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and essential hypertension were the four main types of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases with the largest proportion of hospitalization expenses, accounting for 26.18%, 20.29%, 11.82% and 9.94%, respectively. The largest proportion of hospitalization expenses was treatment expenses and drug expenses, accounting for 44.09% and 32.52%, respectively. Logistic regression analysis showed that age, length of stay, type of insurance, type of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, whether there were other comorbidities or complications, and whether they visited tertiary medical institutions were the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses for patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen the disease prevention and control for the elderly and patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and essential hypertension, accelerate the integration of the basic medical insurance system, scientifically and reasonably shorten the length of hospital stay, and strengthen the promotion of the hierarchical medical system.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the time dependent profiles of gene expression and featured co-expression network modules in peripheral blood of rats after middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). METHODS: Microarray GSE119121 from GEO database was analyzed by R language to identify the significantly changed genes in peripheral blood at different time points (0, 1, 2, 3, 6 and 24 h) after MCAO. Gene expression patterns at different time courses were screened by STEM tools. Then, function annotation and pathway enrichment of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were performed using the Gene Ontology (GO) database and the Kyoto Gene and Genomic Encyclopedia (KEGG) database. Depending on CEMiTool package, gene expression profile matrix was inputted into R to construct the co-expression networks and to analyze modules, and enrichment analysis was conducted to evaluate the correlation between the modules and different time points. RESULTS Comparing with gene at 0 h, the numbers of DEGs in peripheral blood at different time points after MCAO were 163 (1 h), 502 (2 h), 527 (3 h), 550 (6 h), and 75 (24 h), respectively. Moreover, a total of 38 gene expression patterns were enriched, and pattern 65 and pattern 34 were specifically up-regulated or down-regulated at 2-6 h. Hp, Nos2, P2ry10, and Klf12 were representative genes of these two models. The co-expression network module analysis showed that the gene status in the early acute phase (1-6 h) was positively correlated with the Module 2. Module 3 and Module 4 was positively correlated with phase phase 1-3 h and 2-6 h, respectively. Noteworthy, Module 6 gradually changed from positive correlation (0-2 h) to negative correlation (3-24 h) with the MCAO time course, and Module 6 was mainly related to viral response and innate immune response. The hub genes of Module 6 included Mx1, Mx2, and Rtp4. CONCLUSIONS Our study has identified the featured genes and dynamic co-expression network modules in peripheral blood after acute ischemic stroke, which provides a potential basis for judging the onset time of ischemic stroke.

Freshwater snail is an important biological group in aquatic ecosystem and an intermediate host of many parasites. Intestinal flora plays an important role in animal energy metabolism and resistance to pathogens. We analyzed the intestinal microbiota diversity of Radix auricularia (RA) and Planorbella trivolvis (PL) by 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing. At the phylum level, RA had 23 phyla, including Proteobacteria (33.63%), Cyanobacteria (15.33%), Chloroflexi (13.95%), and Actinomycetes (12.99%). PL had 13 phyla, including Proteobacteria (54.88%), Bacteroidetes (28.49%), and Actinomycetes (7.65%). At the genus level, there were 445 genera in RA, including Pleurocapsa, Thiodictyon, Leptotrichia, and Nocardioides. There were 238 genera in PL, including Cloacibacterium, OM60NOR5_clade, Pseudomonas, and Rhodobacter. Ninety-three genera were the common core flora of the two snail species (all the samples were present), and 27 genera had an abundance greater than 0.5%. The structure of intestinal microbiota was significantly different between the two groups (P=0.027). We performed the functional prediction of intestinal microbiota using Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States (PICRUSt), and the results show that the KEGG functional composition of the intestinal flora of the two snails was similar, and the abundance of the amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism and membrane transport were large. In summary, the intestinal microbiota of the two snails was high in diversity and significantly different, but there were a large number of common core flora.

OBJECTIVE To investigate t he attitude of endocrinology physicians to clinical conversion and substitution of insulin drugs ,and to provide basis for improving the centralized procurement program of insulin. METHODS The proportion of convertible and substitutable insulin recognized by endocrinology physicians was investigated by questionnaire from 4 dimensions: intergenerational level ,bargaining group level ,common name level and brand/specification level. The subjects were endocrinology physicians in the third grade class A general hospitals in Nanchang. RESULTS A total of 89 questionnaires were successfully distributed, accounting for 80.2% of the on-the-job endocrinology physicians (111 in total )in the third grade class A general hospitals in Nanchang. Eighty-nine questionnaires were collected ,one of which was invalid ,and the effective rate was 98.9%. At the intergenerational level ,93.2% of endocrinology physicians preferred insulin analogues. At the bargaining group level ,the weighted average of the convertible ratio between group 3 and group 4 approved by physicians was 63.9%. At the levels of common name and brand/specification ,the weighted averages of convertible proportion of each group were more than 70%. CONCLUSIONS The method of insulin grouping in Wuhan is reasonable which can complete clinical conversion and substitution of insulin in the group safely. It is suggested to cancel long-acting human insulin group. The weighted average of the proportion of convertible and substitutable drugs in the group is high. It is suggested to increase the agreed purchase volume of insulin and conduct“volume price linked ”negotiations. When the surveyed physicians choose the initial treatment scheme of insulin ,they pay more attention to the factors such as efficacy and safety ,so the replacement of insulin should be based on the clinical efficacy and drug safety.
