OBJECTIVETo explore the correlation between signs of living body in abdominal and pelvic cavities and syndrome typing of Chinese medicine (CM) in colorectal cancer patients.

METHODSTotally 112 colorectal cancer patients undergoing open abdominal surgery or laporoscopic surgery were syndrome typed as five types, i.e., inner-accumulation of damp and heat, blockage of stasis and toxin, Pi-Shen yang deficiency, blood-qi deficiency, Gan-Shen yin deficiency. Signs of living body in abdominal and pelvic cavities were collected. The correlation between signs of living body in abdominal and pelvic cavities and syndrome typing of CM were analyzed.

RESULTSRed colorectal canals or mass were dominated in colorectal cancer patients with inner-accumulation of damp and heat syndrome. Dark purple colorectal canals or mass were dominated in colorectal cancer patients with blockage of stasis and toxin syndrome. Reddish colorectal canals or mass were dominated in colorectal cancer patients with blood-qi deficiency syndrome. Pale colorectal canals or mass were dominated in colorectal cancer patients with Pi-Shen yang deficiency syndrome. Whitish or red-white stripes were dominated in colorectal cancer patients with Gan-Shen yin deficiency syndrome. Dropsy colorectal canal was associated with Pi-Shen yang deficiency syndrome. Intracavitary effusion was often seen in colorectal cancer patients with inner-accumulation of damp and heat syndrome. The effusion was yellowish in less amount. Intracavitary adhesion was often seen in colorectal cancer patients with blockage of stasis and toxin syndrome. There was no correlation between the maximum diameter of mass or each syndrome type of CM.

CONCLUSIONThere existed correlation between signs of living body in abdominal and pelvic cavities and syndrome typing of CM, which could be taken as one of references for syndrome typing of colorectal cancer patients.

Objective To evaluate the quality of the examination paper of the theory of Clinical Diagnostics,to explore and reflect on the teaching methods,so as to improve the quality of teaching.Methods Finals results of Clinical Diagnostics including 40 clinical undergraduates of Capital Medical University were analyzed.SPSS 20.0 was used to make analysis of the frequency,means statistics and normality of the examination paper.Kuder Richardson/Cmnbacha formula,percentage unification methods and so on were used to calculate confidence,validity,difficulty and degrees of distinction.Acquisition of relevant knowledge was assessed according to score distribution,while test paper quality was evaluated based on indicators including confidence,validity,difficulty and degrees of distinction.Results Test scores of 40 students were between 61 to 96 (83.64 ± 8.07).The degree of confidence (γ) for choice questions and subjective questions was 0.65 and 0.59 respectively;The validity (V) was 0.27;The overall difficulty (P) of the examination was 0.84;The degrees of distinction (D) were between 0.16 to 0.30.And the total points losing rate was 16.36％.Conclusion The examination is of medium difficulty and good degree of distinction,but the teaching strategies still need further adjustment in order to improve the students' ability of flexible application of the basic knowledge.

To analyze the causes and treatments of high intraocular pressure ( > 21mmHg ) of angle - closure glaucoma underwent compound trabeculectomy 1mo after surgery.
●METHODS: This was a retrospective study of our hospital, from March 2010 to March 2013. Thirty-four (38 eyes) of angle-closure glaucoma patients were collected, who underwent compound trabeculectomy with high intraocular pressure ( > 21mmHg) 1mo after operation. We analyzed the causes and summarized the treatments.
●RESULTS:The causes which lead to early postoperative high intraocular pressure included malignant glaucoma (9 eyes of 8 cases), blood clot and connective tissue block under the scleral flap (15 eyes of 13 cases), hyphema after surgery(5 eyes of 5 cases), sclera flap incision was incarcerated with iris tissue ( 3 eyes of 3 cases ), preoperative high intraocular pressure for a long time(5 eyes of 4 cases), 1 eye of 1 case for unknown reason. After proper treatments, intraocular pressures of all patients were bellowed 21mmHg.
● CONCLUSlON: Early postoperative high intraocular pressure of angle - closure glaucoma underwent compound trabeculectomy is caused by various factors, and the early prevention and timely treatment are key points of a successful operation.

Objective Diabetic mice models were established.Hearts were separated from the body,reperfused after ischemia,and disposed of with the extraneous calcitonin gene-ralated peptide (CGRP),to prove if the CGRP had protective effect on the early-staged diabetic mice with cardiac ischemia.Method ICR mice were injected with Streptozocins intraperitoneally to establish diabetic model.The model mice and the normal mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:two diabetic groups,two control groups.Hearts of the experimental mice were taken out from the chest cavity alive,and hanged on the Langendorff steadily for 30min.Western blot and radioimmunoassay techniques were used to test expression of Vanilloid receptor(VR1) and CGRP in myocardic tissue;Madlab system was used to test the cardiac function,which including left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP),left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP),heart rate (HR),and coronary artery flow (CF),in the process of ischemic reperfusion,And ELISA assay kit was used to measure the concentration of the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in perfusion fluid collected from the heart.Result Expressions of VR1 and CGRP in diabetic hearts were significantly lower than those in normal ones 2 weeks later(P＜0.01).By comparing with normal hearts,diabetic hearts had higher LVEDP and CF (P＜0.05),and lower LVDP and HR(P＜0.05).However,release of LDH were lower than normal ones (P＜0.05).Predisposition of normal and diabetic hearts with CGRP can improve the cardiac function after ischemie injury.And the beneficial effect was more profound in early-staged diabetic hearts than in normal ones.Conclusion The diabetes disease(DM) can impair the expression of CGRP in myocardiac tissue.The extraneous CGRP may exert more potent protective effect on cardiac function in the early-staged diabetic heart.

Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive control for schistosomiasis with emphasis on environmental modification in the Bianmin River water system of Nanjing City.so as to provide scientific evidence for making up further control measures in this water system.Methods Schistosome infections of Oncomelania snails in the waterway.sentinel mice in water and neighbouring human were investigated longitudinally from 1998 to 2007,and the changes of huaman infection rates in differentyears,the infection rates of sentinel mice and snails in different settings were analyzed and compared.Results A total of 77 395 snails collected from the Bianmin River water system were dissected from 1998 to 2007,and among them,27 snails were infected with Schistosoma japonicum,with a total snail infection rate of 0.03%.A total of 61 039 snails collected from the neighbouring marshland which connected to the Yangtze River wore dissected,and among them,257 were infected with S.japonicum,with a total snail infection rate of 0.42%,and there was a significant difference compared with that in the water system(χ~2=248.55,P<0.01).After the protection works in the waterway,the infection rates of sentinel mice in the water system decreased from 69.68% in 1998 to 17.50% in 2001.with a reduction rate of 74.89%.Two years afterthe clearance ofmarshlandinthewaterway,no infected sentinel mouse was found.The infection rates of residents from 1998 to 2007 were 1.96%,1.37%,1.34%,1.60%,0.30%, 0.26%,0.16%,0.10%,0.04% and 0,respectively,andthe rates declined year by year afterthecomprehensive control.Conclusions The control measures based on the elimination of snail habitats in the waterway that is connected to the Yangtze River have achieved obvious effect.However,the clearance of the re-emerging snail habitats should be carried out termly to consolidate the control effect.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of GJB2 ,SLC26A4 and mitochondrial DNA 12S rRNA m .1555A>G(mtDNA 1555A>G) mutations in Hui ethic group patients with nonsyndromic hearing loss (NSHL) from Northwest China .Methods A total of 420 peripheral blood samples were collected from unrelated Hui ethic group probands with NSHL in Northwest China .Amplified the target gene by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) af-ter extracting genomic DNA from whole blood .The mtDNA 1555A>G mutation was detected by PCR -Alw26I di-gestion ,then direct sequencing was used to the positive samples of mtDNA 1555A> G ,the coding region of GJB2 gene ,exon 8 and 19 of SLC26A4 gene .Results There were 11(2 .62% ) cases caused by mtDNA 1555A>G homo-zygous mutation in 420 patients with NSHL .There were 41(9 .76% ) cases including homozygote and compound het-erozygote ,caused by GJB2 gene mutation ,which was the most frequent deafness -related gene .The allel frequency of c .235delC accounted for 6 .90% ,as well as the most frequent(51 .33% ) mutational pattern in GJB2 gene .There were 20 patients(4 .76% ) were found carring two allel mutations in SLC26A4 gene .The allel frequency of c .919 -2A>G was 5 .0% ,accounting for a total of 68 .85% in all base alterations of SLC26A4 gene ,which was the major mutant form of SLC26A4 gene .Conclusion GJB2 gene is the most common deafness -gene in Hui ethnic group pa-tients with NSHL from Northwest China ,while c .235delC is the main mutant form ,and c .919-2A>G is the hot-spot mutation of SLC26A4 gene .Through this study we can provide the molecular epidemiology basis for Hui ethnic group patients with NSHL from Northwest China in genetic diagnosis ,genetic counseling and therapy by associated testing of three frequent hearing loss genes .

OBJECTIVETo study and establish the GC fingerprint of essential oils of 10 batches the flower of Lonicera japonica.

METHODThe essential oils were extracted by steam distillation from ten batches of the flowers, then separated by capillary gas chromatography.

RESULTThe similarity of 10 batches of the flower of L. japonica was high.

CONCLUSIONThe method was reliable, and can be used to evaluate the quality of the flower of L. japonica.

Objective: To explore the dietary patterns and related factors among urban middle school students in Guangzhou, and to provide the scientific reference for conducting nutritional education and intervention among the middle school students. Methods: Questionnaire survey was conducted for students in two grades (grade 1 of 27 junior and senior high schools) and their parents along with the physical examination for urban primary and secondary school students in Guangzhou. Dietary patterns were established by exploratory factor analysis. Multinomial Logistic regression model was used for analyzing influencing factors of dietary pattern. Results: Three major dietary patterns were identified. Type I (37.09%) was a healthy dietary pattern; type II (33.37%) and III (29.54%) were classified into western dietary patterns. Multinomial Logistic regression models showed that living on campus (ORⅡ=1.57, 95%CI:1.33-1.85; ORⅢ=1.28, 95%CI:1.07-1.52), screen time≥2 h/d (ORⅡ=2.89, 95%CI:2.51-3.33; ORⅢ=2.14, 95%CI:1.85-2.48) were positively associated with type II and III. The monthly household income per capita≥5 000 yuan (ORⅢ=1.31, 95%CI:1.14-1.51) was positively associated with type III. Senior students (ORⅡ=0.83, 95%CI:0.73-0.95; ORⅢ=0.74, 95%CI:0.64-0.85), the level of parental education (ORⅡ=0.64, 95%CI:0.52-0.79; ORⅡ=0.67, 95%CI:0.54-0.82; ORⅢ=0.72, 95%CI:0.58-0.90; ORⅢ=0.73, 95%CI:0.59-0.89) had a negative association with type II and III. Conclusion There are three dietary patterns among urban middle school students in Guangzhou. The main influencing factors include parental education, screen time, grade, resident situation, and monthly household income per capita.
