Subthalamic nucleus (STN) deep brain stimulation (DBS) has become an important surgical treatment of Parkinson disease, but its exact mechanism is still unclear. In this study, a 16-channel implantable microelectrode array (MEA) was prepared by micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) technique and later modified with platinum black/reduced Graphene Oxide/Nafion (Pt/RGO/Nafion) nanocomposites.Extracellular dopamine (DA) content and spike of dorsal striatum neurons were synchronously recorded before and after STN stimulation. The results showed that the dopamine content began to increase within 20 s after electrical stimulation and dropped to normal level after about 50 s, with the highest rising concentration of 1.72 μmol/L.At the same time, there was an increased spike activity of interneurons in the dopamine ascending phase, and the spike firing rate of medium spiny projection neurons (MSNs) was high when the concentration of DA was higher than the normal level. The MEA sensor can simultaneously record dopamine flux and physiological signals in situ, thus providing an ideal tool for neural information detection.

Modern oncology believes that tumor-associated inflammation is one of the prominent features of tumor microenvironment. The occurrence and development of ovarian cancer is inseparable from the influence of inflammatory factors in the microenvironment.Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an important pro-inflammatory factor that regulates tumor cell growth.Current studies found that the expression of IL-6 and IL-6 receptor both increase in patients with ovarian cancer, which are closely related to poor clinical prognosis. The mechanism of effect of IL-6 on the malignant progression of ovarian cancer has been a research hotspots in the field of tumor microenvironment. In combination of the research results of this group in recent years, we mainly review the role of IL-6 in ovarian cancer including proliferation, invasion and metastasis, blood system disorders and drug resistance. Then, we introduce the research frontiers and application prospects of IL-6 targeted therapy for ovary cancer.
7.Chinese Medicine in Treatment of Osteoarthritis by Regulating Tumor Necrosis Factor and Signaling Pathways: A Review
Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae 2022;28(20):250-257
Osteoarthritis (OA) is also known as degenerative arthritis with prominent clinical manifestations of joint pain, joint swelling, and loss of mobility. With the aggravation of population aging in modern society, its incidence is increasing year by year worldwide, and it has become one of the main diseases that reduce the quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people and even lead to disability. Modern medical research on OA has shown that tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) produced by activated macrophages and/or synoviocytes is the initiator of OA inflammatory response and can interact with multiple signal transduction pathways. It is considered to be one of the most important cytokines and inflammatory mediators that promote the degradation of cartilage matrix and the destruction of articular cartilage in the course of OA, and plays a key role in the course of OA. Under the guidance of the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Chinese medicine provides individualized treatment of OA following the principle of people-oriented, syndrome differentiation and treatment, and has the significant advantages of multiple targets, high efficacy, and low toxicity. In recent years, it has become a research hotspot to explore the specific mechanism of Chinese medicine and its active ingredients in the treatment of OA. This study described the role of TNF-α and its signal transduction pathways in the course of OA and reviewed the modern medical research advances in Chinese medicine acting on TNF-α and its signal transduction pathways in the treatment of OA, providing a certain reference basis for the clinical treatment of OA, basic research, and development of targeted drugs.

9.Prevalence of comorbidity of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and middle school students in Tianjin in 2023
Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(8):1171-1175
Objective:
To analyze the prevalence of comorbidity of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and secondary school students aged 10-18 years in Tianjin in 2023, so as to provide scientific basis for the combined prevention of common diseases and multiple diseases among students and the construction of school health system.
Methods:
In September to October 2023, 31 884 primary and secondary school students aged 10 to 18 years in Tianjin were selected using stratified cluster random sampling. Abnormal spinal curvature in children and adolescents was assessed by Sereening of Spinal Curvature Abnormality of Children and Adolescents, while stunting, wasting, overweight, and obesity were determined according to the Screening for Malnutrition among Schoolage Children and Adolescents and Screening for Overweight and Obesity among Schoolage Children and Adolescents. The χ2 test was used to compare betweengroup differences in coprevalence, and multiple Logistic regression models were used to analyze the risk of different comorbidity types in different clusters.
Results:
The coprevalence of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and secondary school students in Tianjin was 1.6%, which was higher for girls than boys (1.8%, 1.4%), higher (2.5%) for senior high schools than for junior high schools and elementary schools (2.0%, 0.5%), and higher in rural than in urban areas (2.1%, 1.1%) (χ2=9.45, 141.92, 46.94, P<0.05). Multiple Logistic regression models showed that junior high school girls had a higher risk of incorrect posture comorbid with stunting and wasting (OR=4.52, 95%CI=1.84-11.06) and incorrect posture comorbid with overweight and obesity (OR=2.67, 95%CI=1.74-4.10) than boys, and that scoliosis/sagittal spinal abnormality comorbid with stunting and wasting (OR=0.10, 95%CI=0.02-0.44) risk was lower than that of boys, senior high school girls had a lower risk of scoliosis/sagittal spinal abnormality comorbid with overweight and obesity (OR=0.27, 95%CI=0.11-0.66) (P<0.05).
Conclusions
The coprevalence of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition is specific among primary and secondary school students in Tianjin, and the comorbidity type varies by gender and education stage. There is a need to increase prevention and control of spinal curvature abnormalities in school health working, intensive screening of key populations, and timely intervention.

Chinese Critical Care Medicine 2021;33(11):1401-1404
In recent years, the bloodstream infection rate of Gram-negative bacilli has continued to increase. Among them, drug-resistant bacteria have a higher mortality rate and longer hospital stay, especially the bloodstream infection of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB). Polymyxin began to be used clinically in the 1950s and has antibacterial activity against multidrug resistant and poly drug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli. It can also be used as an effective permeation agent for the cell envelope of Gram-negative bacilli. Polymyxin is reserved for microbiologically clear drug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli infections. The World Health Organization classifies polymyxin as an antimicrobial drug with clinical significance for human infections and can be used to treat drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infection. This article reviews the clinical treatment of polymyxin in bloodstream infections of drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, to provide reference for clinical medication.
