Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2016;34(2):181-183
Recently, collagen cross-linking has been an effective and high-security method for the treatment of primary and secondary corneal ectasia and other low biomechanical diseases. In this article, the technological features of conventional collagen cross-linking, rapid cross-linking and trans-epithelial cross-linking has been summarized together.Furthermore,we launched evaluations on the feasibility of intrastromal corneal ring implantation, femtosecond laser and collagen cross-linking combined with penetrating agent. This article also focused on the application in pediatric patients and other indications of the technique.

Objective To investigate the risk factors of postoperative complications in spinal tuberculosis surgery, and try to find a way to improve the results of perioperative management and reduce or avoid the postoperative complications. Methods All of 172 cases of spinal tuberculosis who were treated by surgery from February 2005 to January 2013 in orthopedic department of Zhongshan hospital,Fudan University were retrospectively analyzed. There were 88 males and 84 females, whose average age was 50.9± 18.7y (18-84y).Among them 98 cases got cold abscess, and 56 cases had tuberculosis poisoning symptoms. The lesions located mostly in thoracic spine (112/172,65.1%) and lumbar spine (40/172,23.3%),while rarely in cervical or sacral spine.2 intervertebral spaces were involved in 116 cases (67.4%),more than 2 intervertebral spaces were involved in 32 cases (18.6%),and single intervertebral space were involved in the rest cases (14.0%).38 cases were treated through single anterior approach,54 cases were treated by anterior-posterior surgical approach, and single posterior approach was performed in 80 cases.58 cases were suffered from neurological dysfunction. All the postoperative complications and related clinical parameters during hospitalization period were collected and analyzed with SPSS software. Each clinical parameter was analyzed with univariate analysis to find the factors related to postoperative complications, and then the related factors were analyzed by multivariate regression analysis. Results All of 172 patients were included and 41.9% (72/172) of the patients suffered from postoperative complications.System complications were the most common (33.7%,58/172).The rates of local complications were 10.5% (18/172).Univariate analysis showed that the lesion site, value of hemoglobin, electrolyte disturbances, postoperative ASIA score and blood loss were related with postoperative complications.Posterior approach related with local complications.Multivariate regression analysis showed that preoperative hemoglobin <100 g/L,poor postoperative ASIA scores and long period of preoperative anti-TB treatment (>28 days) were related with the system or local postoperative complications. Conclusion Patients with anemia (hemoglobin < 100g/L),poor postoperative neurological function and long period of preoperative anti-TB treatment could take more risks of the postoperative complications.

Objective:To explore the psychological experience and demand of parents of children with delayed recovery after congenital heart disease surgery. Methods:This study adopted phenomenological research methods from qualitative research. Using the purposive sampling method, parents of postoperative delayed recovery children with congenital heart disease who met the inclusion criteria were selected as the research objects from October to November 2019 at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the parents of the children, and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi 7-step analysis method. Results:Finally, 13 parents of children with delayed recovery after congenital heart disease surgery were included. According to the interview results, four themes were extracted, which were negative psychological experience of parents of children with delayed recovery, positive psychological experience and expectation change of parents, heavy economic burden of parents and diversified needs of parents. Conclusions:During the delayed recovery period, psychological experience of parents is complex and their needs are diverse. The nursing staff should identify and pay attention to the causes of the negative psychological experience of the parents of the children, timely channel their negative emotions and strengthen the positive psychological experience in many aspects. They can assist parents to seek social help to reduce physical and mental pressure and meet the diverse needs of parents by providing high-quality nursing services and multi-channel information support.

Dehydration-responsive element binding proteins (DREBs) are an important class of transcription factors related to plant stress tolerance. Ammopiptanthus mongolicus is an evergreen broadleaf shrub endemic to desert areas of northwest China, and it has a very high tolerance to harsh environments. In order to reveal the functions and mechanisms of the AmDREB1F gene from this species in enduring abiotic stresses, we performed subcellular localization test, expression pattern analysis, and stress tolerance evaluation of transgenic Arabidopsis harboring this gene. The protein encoded by AmDREB1F was localized in the nucleus. In laboratory-cultured A. mongolicus seedlings, the expression of AmDREB1F was induced significantly by cold and drought but very slightly by salt and heat stresses, and undetectable upon ABA treatment. In leaves of naturally growing shrubs in the wild, the expression levels of the AmDREB1F gene were much higher during the late autumn, winter and early spring than in other seasons. Moreover, the expression was abundant in roots and immature pods rather than other organs of the shrubs. Constitutive expression of AmDREB1F in Arabidopsis induced the expression of several DREB-regulated stress-responsive genes and improved the tolerance of transgenic lines to drought, high salinity and low temperature as well as oxidative stress. The constitutive expression also caused growth retardation of the transgenics, which could be eliminated by the application of gibberellin 3. Stress-inducible expression of AmDREB1F also enhanced the tolerance of transgenic Arabidopsis to all of the four stresses mentioned above, without affecting its growth and development. These results suggest that AmDREB1F gene may play positive regulatory roles in response to abiotic stresses through the ABA-independent signaling pathways.
