Objective To retrospectively analyze the causes of nursing related complications in patients with epilepsy who underwent stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG), so as to explore nursing care of these patients. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 100 patients with epilepsy who underwent SEEG from January 2015 and January 2017 of Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University. Then we analyzed the causes of common nursing related complications in patients with epilepsy, and explored corresponding nursing measures. Results The investigation included 24 cases of nursing related complications. The number of failed to install the stereotactic instrument was 2 cases. The number of pressure ulcer appearing on the head was 3 cases. The number of electrodes and leads disconnection was 8 cases. The number of status epilepticus during monitoring after surgery was 11 cases. Conclusions The key of nursing care of the patients with epilepsy underwent SEEG are as follows: mental nursing and preoperative education to help patients overcome the fear during install the stereotactic instrument; local protection to prevent pressure ulcer appearing on the head; fix firmly to prevent electrodes and leads disconnection; medication guide to prevent status epilepticus.
