Objective To detect the expressions of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), C-erbB-2, p53, estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) in order to explore the proper margin for breast conservative surgery on Chinese women. Methods We collected 40 resection specimens from breast cancer patients who had received radical surgery. Then we divided each specimen into primary tumor group and hyperplasia and gene expression characteristics of PCNA, c-erbB-2, p53, ER and PR were measured by pathological and immunohistochemical assay in the five groups. Results With the further distance from the primary tumor, the proportions of high-risk disease and positive gene expressions of PCNA, c-erbB-2 and p53 in paracarcinoma tissues gradually decreased (P<0.05). Higher risk and more positive expressions were related to paracarcinoma was no correlation of PCNA, ER and PR expressions adjacent to breast cancer with tissue differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P>0.05). a safe and appropriater region for breast conservative surgery.

Objective To investigate lymph node metastases in distal gastric cancer and its clinical significance. Methods From June 2006 to December 2007, 129 distal gastric cancer patients underwent radical gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy. Dissected lymph nodes were collected in groups, and histopathological studies were performed to detect lymph node metastasis. The relationship between lymph node metastasis and tumor parameters such as diameter, location, infiltrating depth, histological category,Borrmann typing was evaluated. Results Lymph node metastases was found in 80 out of 129 patients (62%). A total of 3295 lymph nodes were harvested with an average of 25.54 lymph nodes per patient, among those 889 lymph nodes were identified with metastasis. The metastasis rate was 18.60%, 48. 84%,37. 98%, 38. 76%, 44. 19%, 31.01%, 10. 85%, 14. 73%, 4. 65%, 1.55% and 0. 78% respectively in No. 1, No. 3, No. 4d, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, No. 8a, No. 9, No. 11 p, No. 12a, No. 14v lymph node group.No. 3 and No. 6 group nodes were moat frequently invaded by metastasis. Conclusion This study provides the regular pattern of lymph node metastasis in distal gastric carcinoma patients undergoing radical gastrectomy and perigastric lymphadectomy which helps to guide lymphadectomy in terms of less trauma and favorite prognosis.

Objective To investigate the application status of radiotherapy and nuclear medicine resources in Qingdao, China, and to provide a data foundation for the development of radiotherapy and nuclear medicine in this city. Methods A questionnaire survey was performed on all medical institutions with radiotherapy and nuclear medicine services across Qingdao. The cut off date for questionnaire data pooling was March 31, 2021. Results A total of 18 hospitals have radiotherapy services in Qingdao, including 12 (66.67%) tertiary hospitals and 6 (33.33%) secondary hospitals. There were 29 pieces of radiotherapy equipment in total, including 24 (82.76%) linear accelerators, 4(13.79%) brachytherapy units, and 1(3.45%) helical tomotherapy unit. Among all patients with radiotherapy in Qingdao, 79.68% were treated in tertiary hospitals. Nuclear medicine departments have been set up in five medical institutions in Qingdao, all in tertiary hospitals. There were five PET-CT scanners, seven SPECT scanners, and two cyclotrons in these nuclear medicine departments. Conclusion Qingdao had a higher radiotherapy equipping rate than the national average level, but with an uneven personnel distribution. Some secondary hospitals were short of medical physicists. The penetration rates of nuclear medicine equipment and personnel should be improved.

Objective To investigate the current status of interventional radiology resources, radiation protection equipment, and the rate of wearing of personal dosimeters in Qingdao, China, and to provide a data basis for strengthening radiation protection and health management for interventional radiation workers. Methods A questionnaire survey was performed on all medical institutions with interventional radiation services in Qingdao. The data from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 were pooled and analyzed. Results A total of 31 medical institutions in Qingdao were investigated, including 23 (74.20%) tertiary hospitals and 8 (25.80%) secondary hospitals. There were 88 pieces of interventional radiation equipment in total in Qingdao, 89.77% of which were in tertiary hospitals. A total of 921 interventional professionals participated, with 865 (93.92%) from tertiary hospitals and 56 (6.08%) from secondary hospitals. The mean annual number of visits to interventional services was 5.72 per 1000 people. Among personal protective equipment, the equipment rates of lead-rubber aprons, lead-rubber caps, and lead-rubber collars were highest, all being 100%. The rate of equipment of interventional protective gloves was lowest, which was only 51.61%. The mean number of each accessory protective equipment for each interventional machine was less than 1. The rate of wearing of dual-dosimeters was 84.36%. Conclusion Tertiary hospitals were dominant among the medical institutions in this survey of interventional radiology services in Qingdao. The most frequently equipped personal protective goods were lead-rubber aprons, caps, and collars. The equipment rates of interventional protective gloves and protective accessories and the rate of wearing of dual-dosimeters were relatively low.

Chinese Journal of Experimental and Clinical Virology 2019;33(2):171-174
Objective:
To investigate the role of peroxisome proliferator-activated-receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) in carotid atherosclerosis due to human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection.
Methods:
Thirty-three samples of carotid arterial sclerosis plaques after carotid endarterectomy (CEA) were collected in the experiment group, and 12 pieces of normal intracranial arteries were collected in the control group. The plaques of carotid artery were studied using in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for the role of PGC-1α in HCMV related atherosclerosis. HCMV immediate early (IE) gene of two groups was detected using ISH, and the expression of PGC-1α using IHC.
Results:
HCMV IE gene was positive 72.7% in the atherosclerotic plague group, while 16.6% in the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups (

Objective:
To investigate the role of the activation and oxidative stress of cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) after HCMV infection.
Methods:
HUVECs were divided into four groups: control, HCMV(+ ), after HCMV AD169 infection, and the supernatant of the culture was extracted, and the cells were lysed. The levels of vascular cellular adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) in HUVEC were measured by real-time PCR. And the content of nitrogen monoxide (NO) of the supernatant was detected by nitrate reductasemethod accordingly.
Results:
Twenty-four hours after infection, the mRNA expression of VCAM-1 in HUVECs of HCMV infected group increased obviously compared to control, and NO quantity increased accordingly and time-dependently. There was significant difference between groups(
