Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2016;24(3):231-235
Objective To investigate the clinical features and the therapeutic effects in patients with vestibu-lar paroxysmia(VP) .Methods A total of 32 patients with VP were analyzed retrospectively through pure -tone au-diometry (PTA) ,auditory brainstem response(ABR) ,magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) ,and vestibular function . The effects were assessed after 3 months treatment of carbamazepine (CBZ) or oxcarbazepine (OXA) .Results The main clinical symptom of 32 patients was a brief spell of vertigo ,and 75% of patient's attacks were regularly precipi-tated by certain head positions or position changes .The most common accompanying symptom was unsteadiness of stance or gait (75 .00% ) .The PTA thresholds were elevated in 11 patients (34 .38% ) .MRI in all patients showed neurovascular cross -compression(NVCC) .Among 30 patients who performed ABR tests ,24 (80 .00% ) were ab-normal and 19 patients (63 .33% )were found that the interpeak latency (IPL) of wave I-III( IPL I-III) prolonged more than 2 .2 ms .The course of the patients with IPL I -III prolonged was relatively longer (P=0 .231) ,but there was no significantly difference .All patients received carbamazepine (CBZ) or oxcarbazepine (OXA) for one month .One case was lost to follow -up ,4 had no symptom improvement and 27 had a significant reduction in the attack frequency and intensity respectively after treatment of one month ,two months ,three months and 6 months of the drug withdrawal ,compared with the previous (P<0 .05) .The level of vertigo was significantly improved(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Episodic spells of vertigo are the main clinical symptom of VP ,regularly caused by certain head positions or position changes .The NVCC can be found by MRI in all patients .The IPL I -III in ABR was pro-longed in most patients ,some of them have hearing loss .CBZ and OXA are effective with VP and also significant in the experimental treatment of diagnosis .

OBJECTIVE To understand the safety of Ilaprazole sodium for injection in clinical practice. METHODS From Jan. 1st 2019 to Feb. 29th 2020, the data of 3 926 valid hospitalized patients receiving Ilaprazole sodium for injection were collected prospectively from 5 third-level hospitals through CHPS, and the post-marketing safety analysis was performed by using retrospective multicenter single cohort study. At the same time, a nested case-control study (the ratio of trial group and control group was 1∶4) was used to confirm the baseline stability of this study cohort and the correlation between adverse reactions and Ilaprazole sodium for injection. RESULTS Among 3 926 patients, 3 patients experienced 5 adverse drug events after using Ilaprazole sodium for injection, with the incidence of 0.076%. There was no serious adverse event, and the occurrence time was 2 days after medication; adverse drug events mainly include elevated liver function indicators (alanine transaminase, aspartate transaminase, total bilirubin), which were mild and untreated, and all adverse drug events were improved. The results of the nested case-control study showed that the trial group and the control group belonged to the same background baseline, and the occurrence of adverse drug events was more closely related to Ilaprazole sodium for injection. CONCLUSIONS The overall safety of Ilaprazole sodium for injection is relatively high, and the occurrence of adverse events is more related to it.

BACKGROUND:
The clinical features of enthesitis in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) have been reported in some Western countries, but data in China are very limited. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of enthesitis in Chinese patients with PsA and compared them with those in other cohorts.
METHODS:
Patients with PsA enrolled in the Chinese Registry of Psoriatic Arthritis (CREPAR) (December 2018 to June 2021) were included. Data including demographics, clinical characteristics, disease activity measures, and treatment were collected at enrollment. Enthesitis was assessed by the Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC), Maastricht ankylosing spondylitis enthesitis score (MASES), and Leeds enthesitis index (LEI) indices. A multivariable logistic model was used to identify factors related to enthesitis. We also compared our results with those of other cohorts.
RESULTS:
In total, 1074 PsA patients were included, 308 (28.7%) of whom had enthesitis. The average number of enthesitis was 3.3 ± 2.8 (range: 1.0-18.0). More than half of the patients (165, 53.6%) had one or two tender entheseal sites. Patients with enthesitis had an earlier age of onset for both psoriasis and arthritis, reported a higher proportion of PsA duration over 5 years, and had a higher percentage of axial involvement and greater disease activity. Multivariable logistic regression showed that axial involvement (odds ratio [OR] 2.21, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.59-3.08; P <0.001), psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) (OR: 1.03, 95% CI: 1.01-1.04; P = 0.002), and disease activity score 28-C reactive protein (DAS28-CRP) (OR: 1.25, 95% CI: 1.01-1.55; P = 0.037) were associated with enthesitis. Compared with the results of other studies, Chinese patients with enthesitis had a younger age, lower body mass index (BMI), a higher rate of positive human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27, more frequent dactylitis, and a higher proportion of conventional synthetic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs' (csDMARDs) use.
CONCLUSIONS
Enthesitis is a common condition among Chinese patients with PsA. It is important to evaluate entheses in both peripheral and axial sites.

Sepsis is a complex syndrome caused by multiple pathogens and involves multiple organ failure, particularly spleen dysfunction. In 2017, the worldwide incidence was 48.9 million sepsis cases and 11 million sepsis-related deaths were reported (Rudd et al., 2020). Inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis are the most common pathologies seen in sepsis. Liensinine (LIE) is a bisbenzylisoquinoline-type alkaloid extracted from the seed embryo of Nelumbo nucifera. Lotus seed hearts have high content of LIE which mainly has antihypertensive and antiarrhythmic pharmacological effects. It can exert anti-carcinogenic activity by regulating cell, inflammation, and apoptosis signaling pathways (Manogaran et al., 2019). However, its protective effect from sepsis-induced spleen damage is unknown. In this research, we established a mouse sepsis model induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and investigated the protective effects of LIE on sepsis spleen injury in terms of inflammatory response, oxidative stress, and apoptosis.
