Autoimmune diseases (AID) are characterized by autoimmune disorder, as autologous tissue is attacked by the autoimmune system. It is reported that the imbalance of autoimmune tolerance and ingrained inflammatory response are the core events of AID undoubtedly. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor
2.Clinical observation on effects of Fuzheng Jiedu Granule in treating coronary heart disease patients in long term contact with nickel.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2007;27(5):418-420
OBJECTIVETo study the clinical efficacy of Fuzheng Jiedu Granule (FJG) in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients in long term contact with nickel (Ni) and its effect on electrocardiogram (ECG) and cardial enzymes.
METHODSSixty cases were randomly assigned to two groups with 30 cases in each group, the treatment group treated with FJG plus Western medicine and the control group given Western medicine alone. The therapeutic course in both groups was 4 weeks. Another 15 healthy subjects from the same region were taken as the healthy control. Changes of clinical symptoms and ECG were observed, and the serum levels of creatine kinase (CK), lactic acid (LD), lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), Na+-K+-ATPase, Ca2+-ATPase and Ni were detected before and after treatment.
RESULTSThe ameliorative effects on symptoms, signs and ECG in the treatment group were superior to those in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with healthy subjects, the serum levels of CK, LD, LDH and Ni were higher and the serum levels of Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase were lower in patients before treatment; after treatment, the decrease of serum CK, LD, LDH and Ni levels and increase of serum Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase were more significant in the treatment group than those in the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONFJG can decrease the serum Ni level, recover the activity of myocardial enzymes, thus to improve symptoms and abnormal ECG figures in CHD patients.

Abstract:Subgroup J avian leukosis virus (ALV-J) infect cells by binding to the chNHE1 receptor protein of the host and causes tumors. The tumor incidence of the ALV-J-infected chickens was observed by histo pathology, and virus was isolated on DF-1 cell line. The ALV-J load and mRNA of chNHElreceptor protein were detected by real time PCR. The relationship between ALV-J load, chNHE1 receptor expression levels and tumor spectrum was analyzed. The results showed that the tumors induced by ALV-J in laying hens and local lines of chicken were different. No significant relationship was observed between ALV-J load and tumor spectrum. ALV-J load was positively correlated with mRNA expression of chNHE1. The mRNA expression of chNHE1 increased when the tumors occurred. Our results suggest the chNHE1 protein is not only the receptor of ALV-J infected host but also play an important role in the process of tumor development. This study provides a scientific basis for further studying of oncogenic mechanism of ALV-J.

OBJECTIVETo study the prevalence of asthma and its correlated factors in Zaozhuang area in 2003, to provide a basic consideration for prevention/treatment and control policy.
METHODS6 points were selected by stratified-clusterd-random sampling with a total of 16,725 persons expected, but only 10,610 subjects investigated.
RESULTSIn this survey, 128 asthma cases were identified with a overall prevalence of 1.21%. The prevalence for children was 2.02%, and for adult was 0.90% with the former significantly higher then the latter (chi(2) = 21.39, P < 0.01). Rates for male and female were 1.08%, 1.32% with a ratio of 1:1.22. For 77.97% of children with asthma. The initiative age of asthma was before 7 years old among children while among 36.23% of the adults, it was before 15 years of age. Correlation analysis showed that upper respiratory tract infection (OR = 17.81, 95% CI: 12.25-25.89), cold air exposure (OR = 3.43, 95% CI: 2.41-4.90), stimulation through cooking and by harmful gases (OR = 2.56, 95% CI: 1.80-3.63), allergic materials (OR = 2.74, 95% CI: 1.80-4.17) were main inducing factors. 65.63% of the asthma cases having had history of allergic disease while 25.78% having had family history with the OR of allergic history and family history as 21.69 vs. 73.96.
CONCLUSIONThe epidemic status of bronchial asthma was serious, with an assumption that asthma cases might have reached the number of 43 thousand in Zaozhuang area.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical significance of improvement gastrostomy in pancreaticoduodenectomy.
METHODSClinical data of 82 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy and jejunostomy from November 2004 to December 2006 were collected, among which 36 patients received improvement gastrostomy (treatment group), 24 patients accepted traditionary gastrostomy (control group 1) and 22 patients without any gastrostomy (control group 2). Operative time, postoperative duration of gastrointestinal decompression tube, postoperative gastroparesis, pancreatic fistula, biliary fistula, and abdominal cavity infection were compared.
RESULTSThe incidence of postoperative gastroparesis in the treatment group and control group 2 were can significantly lower than that in the control group 1 (P < 0.05). The postoperative duration of gastrointestinal decompression tube of the treatment group was significant shorter than that of control group 2 (P < 0.01). There were no significant difference in other items.
CONCLUSIONSThe improvement gastrostomy in pancreaticoduodenectomy is simple and secure. It can significantly shorten the postoperative duration of gastrointestinal decompression tube and also obviously reduce the incidence of postoperative gastroparesis compared with traditionary gastrostomy.

Objective: To explore the prognostic factors of extracellular NK/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL) treated with pegaspargase/L-asparaginase. Methods: The clinical data of 656 ENKTL patients diagnosed at 11 medical centers in the Huaihai Lymphoma Working Group from March 2014 to April 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were randomly divided into two groups: a training set (460 cases) and a validation set (196 cases) at 7∶3, and the prognostic factors of the patients were analyzed. A prognostic scoring system was established, and the predictive performance of different models was compared. Results: Patients' median age was 46 (34, 57) years, with 456 males (69.5% ) and 561 nasal involvement (85.5% ). 203 patients (30.9% ) received a chemotherapy regimen based on L-asparaginase combined with anthracyclines, and the 5-year overall survival rate of patients treated with P-GEMOX regimen (pegaspargase+gemcitabine+oxaliplatin) was better than those treated with SMILE regimen (methotrexate+dexamethasone+cyclophosphamide+L-asparaginase+etoposide) (85.9% vs 63.8% ; P=0.004). The results of multivariate analysis showed that gender, CA stage, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) score, HGB, and EB virus DNA were independent influencing factors for the prognosis of ENKTL patients (P<0.05). In this study, the predictive performance of the prognostic factors is superior to the international prognostic index, Korean prognostic index, and prognostic index of natural killer lymphoma. Conclusion: Gender, CA stage, ECOG PS score, HGB, and EB virus DNA are prognostic factors for ENKTL patients treated with pegaspargase/L-asparaginase.
