OBJECTIVETo investigate whether intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) can improve the clinical outcomes of the male patients with 100% teratozoospermia.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 152 couples undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), including 75 cycles of IVF and 77 cycles of ICSI. We compared the rates of normal fertilization, high-quality embryos, transferrable embryos, implantation, clinical pregnancy, and abortion between the two groups.
RESULTSIn the 100% teratozoospermia patients the number of transferrable embryos was significantly lower in the IVF than in the ICSI group (78.91% vs 84.92%, P < 0.05), while the rates of normal fertilization and implantation were higher in the former than in the latter (60.26% vs 57.87% and 48.00% vs 39.55%, both P > 0.05). There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in the female age, Gn days, Gn dose, BMI, infertility duration, endometrial thickness, and basal serum FSH and E2.
CONCLUSIONICSI cannot improve the clinical outcomes of the male patients with 100% teratozoospermia.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of seasons, blood types and semen parameters on the cryosurvival rate of frozen-thawed spermatozoa from sperm donors.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the influence of seasons, blood types, abstinence period, semen volume, sperm morphology, and pre-freeze sperm motility and concentration on the cryosurvival rate of frozen-thawed sperm in 4 088 semen samples from Shaanxi Human Sperm Bank.
RESULTSThe cryosurvival rate of the post-thaw sperm was correlated negatively with the progressive motility of the pre-freeze sperm (r = -0.262, P < 0.01), but positively with pre-freeze sperm concentration (r = 0.247, P < 0.01), and it was significantly higher in the 6-day abstinence group ([70.2 +/- 5.4]%) than in the other abstinence groups (P < 0.01), so was it in the normal sperm morphology rate > 20% group ([71.4 +/- 5.1]%) than in the others (P < 0.01). The survival rate of the post-thaw sperm was not correlated with seasons, blood types, and semen volume (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSperm motility, concentration and morphology and the abstinence period of sperm donors may be valuable predictors of the cryosurvival rate of post-thaw sperm, but no correlation was found between the survival rate and seasons, blood types and semen volume.

3.Application of tetrahydrobiopterin in treatment of phenylketonuria
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2013;28(8):632-634
Until recently, the common treatment for phenylketonuria (PKU) was a phenylalanine (Phe)-restricted diet.Increasing evidence of suboptimal outcomes was observed in diet-treated individuals. The observation of clinically significant reductions in blood Phe levels in a subset of patients with PKU following oral administration of tetrahydrobiopterin(BH4),a cofactor of phenylalanine hydroxylase.Clinical studies suggest that treatment with BH4 provides better Phe control and increases dietary Phe tolerance, allowing significant relaxation or even discontinuation of dietary Phe restriction. The current knowledge on this novel pharmacologic approach to the treatment of PKU will be discussed.

AIMTo investigate the pharmacokinetics of mycophenolic acid (MPA), an active metabolite of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) in Chinese adult liver transplant patients.
METHODSThirty-eight liver transplant patients (male 30, female 8) receiving MMF 1.0 g, twice daily in accordance with the recommended regimen were included in this study. Plasma MPA concentrations were measured by high performance liquid chromatography at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 h after the administration of a single dose. Pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated with 3P97 software.
RESULTSThe plasma MPA concentration-time curve was characterized with an early sharp peak reached at 0.5 - 6.0 h after oral administration. And in some patients there was a small second peak due to enterohepatic circulation of mycophenolic acid glucuronide (MPAG), which underwent deglucuronidation and re-absorption as MPA at 4 to 12 h postdose. The mean peak plasma concentration (C(max)) and area under concentration-time curve (AUC(0-12 h)) were (12 +/- 7) microg x mL(-1) and (44 +/- 16) microg x h x mL(-1), respectively. However, a large variability of pharmacokinetic parameters existed in these patients.
CONCLUSIONIn view of the inter-individual variability of MMF pharmacokinetics, plasma MPA concentration should be monitored routinely after MMF administration for individual patient.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of three Chinese medical formulae (Zhifei Mixture I , Zhfei Mixture II, and Zhifei Mixture II) on main and secondary symptoms and signs of children with Totally 70 mycoplasma pneumonia in treating three types of children mycoplasma pneumonia.
METHODSchildren with mycoplasma pneumonia were assigned to the control group (38 cases) and the treatment group (32 case). All patients were intravenously injected with Azithromycin and took Ambroxol Hydrochloride and Clenbuterol Hydrochloride Oral Solution. Those in the treatment group additionally took Zhifei Mixture I , Zhfei Mixture II, and Zhifei Mixture Ill by syndrome typing. Their main and secondary symptoms and signs were observed before and after treatment (main symptoms and signs covered fever, cough, abundant sputum, short breath, and anoxia; secondary symptoms and signs covered aversion to cold, heart rate, facial complexion, spirit, appetite, and sweating).
RESULTSSeven patients were lost in this study. Compared with before treatment in the same group, scores for main and secondary symptoms and signs decreased in the treatment group (P <0.01). The therapeutic effect on fever and cough was obviously better in the control group (P <0.01). The main and secondary symptoms and signs were more obviously improved in the treatment group than in the control group (P <0.01). Commpared with the control group, scores for main and secondary symptoms and signs decreased more in the treatment group (P <0.01). Patients' main and secondary symptoms and signs were more obviously improved (P <0.05).
CONCLUSIONSZhifei Mixture combined Western drugs could significantly improve main and secondary symptoms and signs of mycoplasma pneumonia children patients. Its efficacy was superior to that of using Western medicine alone.

Objective To construct an evaluation index system of scientific and technological achievements transfor-mation in affiliated hospitals of universities and colleges based on a logical model, and to provide reference for scien-tific and systematic measurement of scientific and technological achievements transformation in affiliated hospitals of universities and colleges. Methods The first draft of the evaluation index system was drawn up by combing the re-search literature and laws and policies related to the evaluation of scientific and technological achievements transfor-mation in domestic hospitals, and two rounds of Delphi expert consultation were carried out to determine the evalua-tion index system. Results The expert positive coefficient of both rounds was 100%,the authority coefficient was 0.875 and 0.874,and Kendall's W coefficient increased round by round. Finally,an evaluation system covering 4 first-level indicators,12 second-level indicators and 44 third-level indicators of scientific and technological achieve-ments transformation in affiliated hospitals of colleges and universities was determined. Conclusion The evaluation in-dex system of scientific and technological achievements transformation in affiliated hospitals of colleges and universi-ties has certain reliability and scientificity, with obvious main characteristics, and has important guiding significance and practical value for promoting the optimization of scientific and technological achievements transformation in affiliated hospitals of colleges and universities and improving the transformation efficiency.
