1.Correlation between illness uncertainty and coping style of hepatitis B patients
Modern Clinical Nursing 2016;15(6):11-14
Objective To explore the correlation of illness uncertainty and coping styles of patients with hepatitis B . Method A total of 254 patients with hepatitis B were assessed by Chinese version of Mishel′s uncertainty in illness scale ( MUIS ) and medical coping modes questionnaire ( MCMQ ) . Results The average score of illness uncertainty was at a higher level . The patients mainly used confrontation coping style. The illness uncertainty was positively correlated with the coping style of acceptance-resignation (P<0.05). Conclusion The illness uncertainty of patients with hepatitis B is at a higher level. Nursing intervention should be taken to reduce the degree of patients′uncertainty in illness and encourage them to take positive coping style.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(5):388-391
Objective:
To examine the correlation between anxiety and perceived stress among medical personnel in a tertiary specialized cancer hospital, so as to provide the evidence for improving psychological health among medical personnel.
Methods:
In-service doctors, nurses and technicians were sampled from a tertiary specialized cancer hospital, and their demographics, perceived stress and sources of stress were collected using self-designed questionnaires. Anxiety was evaluated using the Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and the associations of anxiety with perceived stress and source of stress were examined using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total 800 questionnaires were allocated and 655 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 81.88%. The respondents included 160 men (24.43%) and 495 women (75.57%), and 297 respondents (45.34%) were at ages of 30 to 39 years. There were 14 respondents with no or low level of stress (2.14%), 245 with general level of stress (37.40%), 289 with high level of stress (44.12%), and 107 with extremely high level of stress (16.34%). The prevalence of anxiety was 36.64% among respondents. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified perceived stress at work (OR=2.205, 95%CI: 1.657-2.675), doctor-patient relationship (OR=2.259, 95%CI: 1.561-3.282) and interpersonal relationship (OR=2.272, 95%CI: 1.387-3.693) as a factor affecting anxiety among medical personnel.
Conclusion
The anxiety correlates with stress at work, doctor-patient relationship and interpersonal relationship among medical personnel in a tertiary specialized cancer hospital.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2021;42(2):220-223
Objective:
To explore the effect of neck exercises on improving the shoulder and neck symptoms of senior high school students in Zhuhai.
Methods:
From February 2019 to July 2019, 805 senior high school students from 20 classes in 10 middle schools in Zhuhai were selected by multi-stage random sampling method, and randomly divided into two groups based on the class. The final observation group consisted of 405 cases and the control group consisted of 400 cases. The observation group was intervened by neck exercise based with isometric contraction exercise for 12 weeks, while the control group was intervened by routine intervention. The changes of VAS, NDI and PSQI were compared before and after the intervention between the two groups, and the subjects who met the diagnosis criteria of cervical spondylosis were analyzed in subgroups.
Results:
A total of 112 students met the diagnostic criteria of cervical spondylosis, the prevalence rate was 13.9%. among them, 58 cases were diagnosed in the control group and 54 cases in the observation group. After the intervention, the VAS pain level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (Z=-3.37, P<0.01), and the NDI score was significantly lower than that of the control group (t=-20.05, P<0.01). After the intervention, the PSQI subjective sleep quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, daytime dysfunction dimension scores and total scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group (t=-10.36, -7.66, -12.39, -9.78, -9.06, -11.31, -16.56, P<0.05).
Conclusion
The incidence of cervical spondylosis is high in senior high school students in Zhuhai. The neck exercise focusing on isometric strengthening can effectively improve the symptoms and sleep quality of cervical vertebrae.
4.The mediating effects of self-efficacy between symptom experience and quality of life in patients with cirrhosis
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2022;38(32):2518-2523
Objective:To describe the symptom experience of patients with cirrhosis, and explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between symptom experience and quality of life. Methods:A total of 197 inpatients with liver cirrhosis from June 2020 to February 2021 in Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were recruited in this study by convenient sampling method. Symptom experience, quality of life and self-efficacy were assessed by Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale, Chronic Liver Disease Questionnaire and Self-efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease. The correlation among the three was analyzed and a structural equation model was constructed to evaluate the mediating effect of self-efficacy on symptom experience and quality of life. Results:The total score of symptom experience, quality of life and self-efficacy were (0.79±0.34), (32.51±5.96), (5.10±1.33). Symptom experience was significantly negatively correlated with self-efficacy and quality of life( r=-0.343, -0.763, both P<0.01). Self-efficacy was significantly positively correlated with quality of life( r=0.347, P<0.01). Symptom experience significantly negatively affected quality of life through self-efficacy ( β=-0.036, P=0.045). The total effect of symptom experience on quality of life was composed of direct effect ( β=-0.727, P<0.001) and indirect effect ( β=-0.036, P=0.045). Conclusions:Self-efficacy has a mediating effect between symptom experience and quality of life in patients with liver cirrhosis, which can improve symptom experience and reduce the negative impact of symptoms on quality of life by improving self-efficacy.
