1.DOUBLE FLUORESCENT LABELING STUDY ON THE SPINOSOLITARY TRACT-DORSAL COLUMN POSTSYNAPTIC NEURONS IN RATS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Electrophysiological studies have shown that the spinosolitary tract-dorsal column postsynaptic (SST-DCPS) neurons may project to both the dorsal column and solitary tract nuclei. In order to demonstrate the neurons morphologically, fluorescein dyes, PI and Bb, were injected into the dorsal column nuclei and the solitary tract nucleus respectively. A total 282 cells were found to be retrogradely labeled in the spinal dorsal horn in 10 adult rats. Of them, 51 (18%) cells were PI-Bb doubly labeled; 120 (43%) were PI labled alone; and 111 (39%) were Bb singly labled. Most of these double-labled cells were concentrated in laminae III-V. The existence of double projection neurons that project to both the dorsal column and solitary tract nuclei, namely the physiologically identified SST-DCPS neurons, is morphologically confirmed in the present study. These neurons may transmit information to both visceral and somatic sensory nuclei, indicating they may play an important role in the convergence of somato-visceral afferents.

Objective To establish the methods of isolating and culturing human ovarian endometriosis-derived microvascular endothelial cells (OEMEC).Methods The tissues of human endometriotic cyst of ovary were finely minced with scissors, then digested by collagenase Ⅰ,Ⅱ and trypsinethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA).The cells were purified by using centrifugation of 2000 r/min speed.OEMEC were identified by light microscope and transmission electron microscope observing CD34,FⅧ-Rag and Weibel-Palade in microvascular endothelial cells. Results The OEMEC grew as confluent monolayer like cobblestones under light microscope.CD34 and FⅧ-Rag were expressed strongly, and the percentages of CD34 and FⅧ-Rag positive cells were 91.4% and 92.5%.Weibel-Palade bodies could be observed under transmission electron microscope. The time of cell doubling proliferation was 4.5 days. Conclusion The established system of isolating OEMEC would provide lab base for studying the mechanisms of angiogenesis in endometriosis lesions.

Objective To study and observe the effect of astragalus membranaceus on serum free amino acids and chemokines in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods 60 patients with rheumatoid arthritis in Lishui Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine from October 2014 to May 2016 were selected as the research object, and 60 patients were divided into control group and observation group with 30 cases in each group, according to the method of random number table, the control group were treated with conventional treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, the observation group were treated with astragalus mongholicus on the basic of control group, then the serum free amino acids and chemokines of two groups before the treatment and at 10th,20th,40th and 60th day after the treatment were respectively detected and compared. Results The serum free amino acids and chemokines of two groups before the treatment were compared, while the serum chemokines of observation group at 10th,20th,40th and 60th day after the treatment were all lower than those of control group, the serum free amino acids glutamic acid, asparagic acid and phenylalanine were all lower than those of control group,leucine,γ-aminobutyric acid, glycine and taurine were all higher than those of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The influence of astragalus mongholicus for the serum free amino acids and chemokines of patients with rheumatoid arthritis is better,so its application in the patients with rheumatoid arthritis is higher.

Objective To investigate the methods and effects of abdominal and pelvic shielding for pediatric chest CT examinations. Methods The 705-D phantom made by Computerized Imaging Reference Systems (CIRS) was used to replace a 5-year-old child, thermoluminescent dosimeters were set in the abdomen and pelvis to measure the organ and tissue doses.Chest scans were conducted with the routine protocol for pediatric chest CT examinations.Doses to main organs and tissues in the abdomen and pelvis were measured after chest CT scans without lead apron, with lead apron covering anterior of the abdomen and pelvis and with apron wrapping same part, respectively. Results Absorbed doses to some abdominal organs near the irradiation field were up to several mGy in a procedure of pediatric chest CT examination. There were statistically significant differences among the dose values for three different scans at the same location (x2 =16.00,P < 0.05).Statistically significant difference was also found between the dose values for scans, which were measured with wrapping and covering approaches (Z =-2.52,P < 0.05).Compared to the doses in the condition of no shielding, the doses in testis and colon reduced by 71.2% and 42.3%,respectively,if the abdomen and pelvis was wrapped with a lead apron (0.35 mm Pb),and reduced by 55.9% and 26.1%,respectively,if the same lead apron was used to cover the anterior of the abdomen and pelvis. Conclusions In pediatric chest CT examinations, the use of a lead apron can effectively shield the abdomen and pelvis, and plays an important role in protection of the gonad and colon. The wrapping measure is worth being recommended.

Objective To develop a new software system that cau directly display the predicted results on an electronic map,in order to get a directly perceived understanding of the affected areas of nuclear and radiological terrorism events in city areas. Methods Three scenarios of events including spreading radioactive materials, dirty bomb attack, and explosion or arson attacks on the radiation facilities were assumed.Gaussian diffusion model was employed to predict the spread and deposition of radioactive pollutants, and both the internal and external doses were estimated for the representative person by using the corresponding dose conversion factors.Through integration of the computing system and Mapinfo geographic information system(GIS),the predicted results were visually displayed on the electronic maps of a city. Results The new software system could visually display the predicted results on the electronic map of a city, and the predicted results were consistent with those calculated by the similar software Hotspot(R)The deviation between this system and Hotspot was less than 0.2 km for predicted isoplethic curves of dose rate downwind. Conclusions The newly developed software system is of the practical value in predicting the effects of nuclear and radiological terrorism events in city areas.

Objective To evaluate the mid-term effect of total hip arthroplasty (THA) after failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture. Methods Twenty-one patients treated with THA due to failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture from January 2007 to December 2010 were studied retrospectively. There were 10 males and 11 females,at mean age of 71.7 years (range,66-79 years).Sixteen patients were treated with dynamic hip screws/dynamic condyle screws (DHS/DCS),3 proximal femoral nails,2 hollow screws.Mean interval from internal fixation to THA was 29 months (range,10-79 months).Causes for the failed internal fixation were loosening, cutting, and breakage of screws which generated fracture displacement or nonunion in 19 patients and femoral head necrosis in 2 patients. All patients received THA with uncemented acetabulum cups and proximally long-stemmed,porous-coated titanium femoral components including AML stems for 5 patients and Solution stems for 16 patients. Moreover, greater trochanteric fracture was fixed by Luke wire.Harris hip score were measured before operation and at final follow-up.Radiographs were performed before operation,at 3,6 and 12 months after operation, and at final follow-up to assess the fracture restoration, healing, prosthesis initial fixation, and mid-term survival condition. Results One patient was died due to pulmonary infection 1.5 years after operation. Two patients were lost to follow-up and 18 patients were followed up for 3-5 years (mean,3.9 years). At final follow-up,13 patients regained the ability to walk independently,4 needed support of a cane,1 needed assistance of a walker. There were no signs of loosening, subsidence or rupture of the prosthesis.Mean Harris hip score increased from 25.3 points preoperatively to 80.6 points at final follow-up; the score was excellent in 11 patients, good in 6,good in 1,with the excellent and good rate of 94%.Conclusion THA can improve hip function, patients' quality of life and midterm outcome in salvage of failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fractures.
