Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2016;32(3):491-494
ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in classification of liver fibrosis in chronic liver diseases. MethodsA total of 63 chronic liver disease patients with liver fibrosis who were admitted to The Second People′s Hospital of Zhuhai from December 2012 to June 2015 were analyzed retrospectively and divided into S0 group (24 patients), S1 group (18 patients), S2 group (10 patients), S3 group (6 patients), and S4 group (5 patients) according to the fibrosis stage. All the patients received conventional magnetic resonance imaging scan and diffusion-weighted imaging, and ADC values were obtained. The Kruskal-Wallis H test was applied for comparison between multiple groups, and the Mann-Whitney U test was applied for further comparison between each two groups; the Spearman rank correlation analysis was applied for correlation analysis. ResultsClassification of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis was negatively correlated with ADC (r=-0.389, P<0.001); ADC showed significant differences between the five groups (H=19904, P<0.001); ADC value in the S0 group was significantly different from those in the S1, S2, S3, and S4 groups (U=18.5, 3.0, 0 and 0, respectively, all P<0.05); ADC value in the S1 group was significantly different from those in the S2, S3, and S4 groups (U=129.5, 16.5, and 70.0, respectively, all P<0.05); the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for ADC value in quantitative evaluation of no liver fibrosis (S≥1) and moderate-to-severe liver fibrosis (S≥2) were 0.950 and 0.799, respectively, with sensitivities of 100% and 77.8% and specificities of 89.7% and 85.7%. ConclusionADC has a certain clinical value in classification of liver fibrosis in chronic liver diseases.
7.Osteoarthritis of knee joint treated with acupuncture and moxibustion.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2010;30(5):375-378
OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy of osteoarthritis of knee joint treated by acupuncture and moxibustion and simple acupuncture.
METHODSSixty-two cases were randomized into an observation group (32 cases) and a control group (30 cases). In the observation group, acupuncture and non-scarring moxibustion were applied. Acupuncture was applied on the local acupoints of knee and moxibustion was performed on Shenshu (BL 23) and Xuehai (SP 10). In the control group, only acupuncture was adopted. The clinical efficacy was observed after 2 courses of treatment. Lysholm knee joint motor function scale, visual analogue scale (VAS) and WHO quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) were used for the assessment of scores before and after treatment and the statistical analysis of clinical efficacy.
RESULTSThe total effective rate (93.8%, 30/32) in the observation group was superior to that (87.7%, 26/30) in the control group (P < 0.05). The scores in Lysholm knee joint motor function scale and VAS were improved after treatment compared with those before treatment in two groups (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The degree of improvement in the observation group was superior to that in the control group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). There was no statistical significance in the scores of WHOQOL-BREF before and after treatment in two groups as well as in intra-group comparison (all P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAcupuncture and moxibustion in combination achieve the definite clinical efficacy on osteoarthritis of knee joint and this therapy is superior to simple acupuncture in the improvement of motor function of knee joint and the alleviation of pain.

8. Research progress on pharmacokinetics and dosage forms of crocin and crocetin
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2019;50(1):234-242
Crocin is derived from stigmas of Crocus sativus and fruits of Gardenia jasminoides. It is a type of unique water-soluble carotenoids with long conjugate, possessing remarkable neuroprotection, cardiovascular protection, antitumor, and other pharmacological activities. Data showed that orally administrated crocin couldn’t permeate into the bloodstream as the prototype, but it can be absorbed into the blood circulation after being hydrolyzed to crocetin in gastrointestinal tract. Then, crocetin is converted to glucuronic acid conjugate. Moreover, the metabolite crocetin are mainly distributed in heart, liver, spleen, lung, and other blood-rich tissues. In view of the low bioavailability and poor stability of crocin and its metabolite crocetin, researchers have extensively employed novel drug delivery system to study crocin (crocetin) in order to improve its stability, bioavailability, and pharmacological activity. This article reviews in vivo metabolism of crocin (crocetin) in recent years and investigations on drug delivery system, therefore, facilitating further research and development of these natural products.
9.Interview and treatment of a case with gender dysphoria
Sichuan Mental Health 2022;35(3):287-291
This paper interviewed a case of patient with gender dysphoria via a bio-psycho-social approach. The client, a 21-year-old college student of male sex, had been into female dressing since the age of ten. As an adult, he became increasingly convinced that he should become a woman and began taking hormone therapy in secret and on an irregular basis. He felt himself trapped in a cycle of anxiety and distress, due to the concerns about the side effects of hormone therapy, and the practical problems regarding the impact on his academic and career arrangements, as well as the ways to explain himself to his parents. Through a remote psychiatric consultation, therapists provided targeted interventions based on the bio-psycho-social model.
10.Clinical study on the relationship between the displaced fracture of the inferior ramus of pubis and the posterior pelvic ring injury.
China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2017;30(7):638-642
OBJECTIVETo investigate relation between displaced inferior ramus fractures and posterior pelvic ring injury.
METHODSFrom August 2012 to August 2015, 51 patients of pubic ramus fractures with complete record were retrospective reviewed including 27 males and 24 females with an average age of(49.1±19.0) years old ranging from 9 to 90 years old. The time from injury to treatment ranged from 0.3 to 48 hours with an average of 10.1 hours. According to Tile classification of pelvic fractures, 28 cases were type A, 17 cases were type B, 6 cases were type C. Pelvic radiographs and computed tomography scans were detailed and evaluated for whether there were posterior pelvic ring injury, meanwhile pubic rami fractures were divided into 4 groups as follow: displaced inferior ramus fractures group, undisplaced inferior ramus fractures group, displaced superior ramus fractures group, undisplaced superior ramus fractures group;the incidence rate of association of posterior pelvic ring injury was determined and compared.
RESULTSTwenty-six patients had displaced inferior ramus fractures, all of them (100%) were combined with posterior pelvic ring injury. Twenty patients had undisplaced inferior ramus fractures, 6 of them(30%)were combined with posterior pelvic ring injury. Twenty-eight patients had displaced superior ramus fractures, 22 of them(78.5%) were combined with posterior pelvic ring injury. Twelve patients had displaced superior ramus fractures, 5 of them(41.6%) were combined with posterior pelvic ring injury. Compared with undisplaced inferior ramus fractures group, there was statistic difference(=0.028 8<0.05) on the incidence rate of posterior pelvic ring injury, there were no statistic difference(=0.055 8>0.05;=0.168 3>0.05) while compared with other undisplaced superior ramus fractures group and displaced superior ramus fractures group, but the incidence rate of association with posterior pelvic ring injury much higher than both of two groups (100% vs 41.6%, 78.5%).
CONCLUSIONSDisplaced inferior pubic ramus fractures have the highest incidence rate of association with posterior pelvic ring injury, frequently prompted injury to the posterior pelvis. Displaced inferior ramus fractures were an indirect evidence of posterior pelvic injury.
