Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture for restoring consciousness and inducing resuscitation in promoting revival of coma for the patient of diffuse axonal injury(DAI). Methods 60 cases of DAI (GCS≤ 8) were randomly recurited into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated by routine treatment, while the treatment group was treated with acupuncture on the basis of routine treatment .The improving rate of consciousness at the two months of treatment was compared between the two group, and the prognosis was evaluated according to GOS scores. Results The revival rate in the treatment group was 86.7%, higher than that of 60.0% in the control group (P<0.05). The revival time in the treatment group was shorter than the control group (X2=5.45、 t= 8.051, P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The integrated therapy of acupuncture for restoring consciousness and inducing resuscitation and western medicine can promote the effect of coma revival and improve life condition for the patient of DAI.

Objective To investigate the curative effect and safety of microinvasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MPCNL) and ureteroscope lithotripsy (URSL) in treatment of children′s (≤6 years old) middle and upper segment ureteral calculi. Methods Eighty children (≤6 years old) with middle and upper segment ureteral calculi were selected, and they were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method with 40 cases each. The children of observation group were treated with MPCNL, and the children of control group were treated with URSL. The operation time, hospitalization time, calculi clearance rate of the first phase, decline situation of the postoperative hemoglobin and hematocrit and complication were compared between 2 groups. Results The operation time and hospitalization time in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group:(45.43 ± 9.76) min vs. (68.32 ± 11.28) min and (8.12 ± 1.03) d vs. (13.45 ± 2.34) d, the calculi clearance rate of the first phase was significantly higher than that in control group: 100.0% (40/40) vs. 62.5%(25/40), the incidence of complication was significantly lower than that in control group:20.0%(8/40) vs. 60.0% (24/40), and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). There were no statistical differences in the decline situation of the postoperative hemoglobin and hematocrit between 2 groups (P>0.05). Conclusions The MPCNL in treatment of children′s middle and upper segment ureteral calculi has short operation time, high calculi clearance rate of the first phase, and low incidence of perioperative complication. Compared with URSL, the URSL is safe and efficient, and it is worthy of clinical application.

Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is an inflammatory-demyelinating disease of central nervous system that is characterized by severe attacks of optic neuritis (ON) and longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM).Conventional MRI is the most sensitive method in detection of NMO lesions in brain, spinal cord and optic nerve, which can objectively show the site, number, size and distribution of lesions. The MRI features of NMO lesion in brain, spinal cord and optic nerve lesions were reviewed in this article.

By taking American Penn State University Medical Center as an example, the paper introduced the current American radiology resident education training situation and elaborated the radiology resident rotation system, multiform teaching model and academic research training. Medical education in American sheds light on how to reasonably arrange rotation, mobilize students' subjective initiative and improve scientific research ability, which radiology resident medical education in China can draw lessons from.

Objective To identify the pathogen of an acute epidemic gastroenteritis outbreak in newborn room. Methods Forty five samples were collected from 38 newborn patients at the peak of a diarrhea outbreak, which happened in a newborn room in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region during December 2008 to February 2009. The presence of rotavirus antigen, Adeno-like virus antigen and Astrovirus antigen were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The presence of Astrovirus RNA were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) with universal primer of Astrovirus. Thirteen samples positive for Astrovirus nucleic acid were analyzed by sequencing and phylogenetic tree. Four samples positive for both Astrovirus antigen and Astrovirus nucleic acid were observed by immune electron microscopy. Results Both rotavirus antigen and Adeno-like virus antigen were negative in 45 faecal samples. Thirty samples were positive for Astrovirus antigen when checked by ELISA, which resulted in a positive rate of 66.7%. Thirty-one samples were positive for Astrovirus RNA when check by RT-PCR, which resulted in a positive rate of 68.9%. The genotype results confirmed all patients were infected with genotype 1 Astrovirus. The gene sequences of thirteen samples were compared with reference strains of Astrovirus type 1 in GeneBank and the homology rate of nucleotide sequence was 90.9 %- 96.3 %. The homology rate of intra these thirteen sample was 94.7%-100.0%. Four positive samples were randomly selected and observed by immune electron microscopy and a large amount of Astrovirus particles were found in two of these samples. Conclusion Genotype 1 Astrovirus is the pathogen of this diarrhea outbreak in newborn.

This study aimed at exploring a fast method to accurately identify the medicinal insect Vespa mandarinia Smith from its adulterants using DNA barcode and COI sequences. The extracted DNAs from V.mandarinia and its adulterants V.soror were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequenced bilaterally based on COI barcode sequence investigation. The information of the COI sequences of V.mandarinia and V.soror were gathered from GenBank. All the sequences were compared and analyzed, and their intraspecific and interspecific genetic distances were calculated using MEGA 6.06.In addition, the phylogenetic tree was established with neighbor-joining (NJ) method. As a result, the COI sequences of V.mandarinia and V.soror were successfully amplified. The minimum interspecific distance between V.mandarinia and its adulterants was 0.152 ± 0.017,being considerably larger than the maximal intraspecific distance between V.mandarinia,0.009±0.004.The constructed phylogenetic tree showed an independent branch for each species. It was concluded that the DNA barcode based on COI sequence can efficiently identify V.mandarinia and its adulterants. This study provided an innovative tool for the quality control and market regulation of Chinese materia medica, securing the safe medication of V.mandarinia.

Objective To discuss the characteristics, growth and development of atlantoaxial pedicle in preschool children, and to provide the basic theoretical basis for the design, production and clinical application of pedicle screw technique in the treatment of atlantoaxial disease in preschool children. Methods Excluded patients with atlantoaxial fractures, deformities, tuberculosis and tumor, the clinical data of 60 children aged from 3 to 6 years old with cervical spondylolisthesis were collected. The original CT images were reconstructed in DICOM format and the subjects were reconstructed with Mimics software. The subjects were grouped by age to measure and analyze the atlantoaxial pedicle correlation. Results The pedicle width(PW),pedicle height(PH) and total length of pedicle bone channel (PL) increased gradually with age.The PW/PH ratio of the vertebrae(C1) is greater than 1.0,and that is, the width of the pedicle of the C1 pedicle is greater than the height. The PW/PH ratio of the vertebral (C2) is less than 1.0,which means the width of the pedicle of the C1 pedicle is less than the height. Conclusion The growth and development of spine in preschool children are fast, and the pedicle of atlantoaxial calculus in different age groups has different developmental characteristics. In this study, the diameter of the pedicle of the atlantoaxial pedicle in the 3 to 6 year old children is increasing with age.The pedicle screw with the smallest diameter of 3.5 mm can be implanted into the atlantoaxial pedicle with feasibility in theory.
