Objective:To observe the histological character of distraction osteogenesis(DO) in the mandible of goat using an intraoral tooth-supported distraction device. Methods:8 goats (7-9 months of age) were divided into 4 groups with 2 goats per group. After a bilateral mandibular corticectomy between the second and third premolars, self-produced intraoral tooth-supported distraction devices were cemented. 5 days after operation,the distraction devices were begun to be activated 0.25 mm every 12 hours to advance the anterior segment 8 mm in 16 days. The animals of 32 days group were injected with tetracycline fluorescence labeing at 10 ml/kg once perweek from the beginning of DO.The animals were sacrificed on day 8,16,32 and 48 separately post activation, and tetracycline fluorescence labeling,HE staining and Mallory's 3-color staining were performed. Results:Tetracycline fluorescence labeling showed that there was green-yellow fluorescence labeling new bone within the distraction gap; HE and Mallory's trichrome staining showed that new bone gradually formed from bilateral sides, gradually blending and remodeling. The fiber bundles and newly formed trabeculas and various cells in early phrases showed to be orientation-directed along the axis of distraction force. Conclusion: New bone can be formed and regenerated along the axis of distraction force within the distraction gap.

Objective To use HSV 1 tk (herpes simplex virus type Ⅰthymidine kinase)/GCV (ganciclovir) in androgen independent prostate cancer cells(C4 2,PC3) in vitro in order to provide useful basis for clinical use. Methods HSV 1 tk gene was ligated to a pN 2A retroviral vector. Recombinant DNA molecules being introduced into a packaging cell line PA317,the high titer virus producer cells (VPC) were screened.The integration and expression of HSV 1 tk gene in VPC was observed by PCR and RT PCR. VPC was co cultured with these cancer cells in the light of 1∶1,1∶2,1∶4,1∶8.Cell viability (cytotoxicity) was assessed by SRB (sulforhodamine B protein dye binding)after the first day,the third day,the fifth and the seventh day. Results The highest titer VPC producing HSV 1 tk gene was isolated. Retrovirus mediated HSV 1 tk gene therapy was effective and active against such prostate cancer cells.The best one was co culture of VPC and cancer cells at 1∶1 and the fifth day followed by GCV. Compared with C4 2, PC3 decreased remarkably.The activation of apoptosis and other ways failed to be found. Conclusions Retrovirus mediated HSV 1 tk gene therapy in Vitro directly killed the tumor cells by cytolytic activity.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an endothelial cell-specific mitogen.Studies have shown that VEGF is closely associated with ischemic stroke,and this makes it possible to intervene in ischemic stroke from the level of VEGF and its receptor.This article reviews the biological effect of VEGF and its receptor,mechanism of action involving in various stages of ischemic stroke,and the therapeutic prospect in ischemic stroke.

Objective: To observe the proliferation of periodontal ligament fibroblasts(PDLFs) under mechanical stretching. Methods: PDLFs were stretched by 6 cycles/min(5 seconds stretching and 5 seconds relaxing) with 12% stretching force through self-produced cultured cell loading system. At experimental time point 24,48 and 96 hours, the cells were counted and flow cytometry was employed to observe the proliferation of PDLFs. Objective To evaluate the role of mierosurgery in surgical treatment to urethrocutaneous fistula after urethroplasty in hypospadias and improve surgical results.Methods From 1999 to 2006,44 urethrocutaneous fistulae (more than 3mm in diameter) after urethroplasty for hypospadias in 33 patients were repaired with different skin flaps.For example,Thiersch technique,urthroplasty,etc.Microsurgical tech- nique was employed in every case.Results The success rates of different procedure were 84.8% (28/33) for Thiersch technique,100% (11/11) for urethroplasty respectively.The total success rate was 88.6%(39/ 44).Conclusion It's just application of skin flap for repairing of big or complex urinary fistula after hypos- padias surgery.The application of microsurgical technique can increase success rate.It is necessary to excise scar and partial urethra for hypospadias fistula combined with urethral structures,cicatricial eontracture and in- curvation of penis.Rich blood-supply,low tension and atraumatic technique are all very important to improve surgery success rates of urinary,fistula after hypospadias repair.

OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of Jianpi Huoxue Jiedu (JPHXJD) prescription on prevention of the postoperative metastasis of gastric cancer and to observe the changes of immunity and whole blood viscosity after treatment. METHODS: JPHXJD prescription and chemotherapy were administered to the treated group for 12 successive months, while only chemotherapy was given to the control group. RESULTS: The effective rate of anti-metastasis in the treated group was obviously better than that in the control group. In the aspects of enhancing Karnofsky scores, reducing whole blood viscosity and improving immunity after treatment, the treated group was better than the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: JPHXJD prescription combined with chemotherapy shows apparent effect on anti-metastasis. It can improve the quality of life of the patients, lower the whole blood viscosity and improve the immunity function.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for contents determination of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside in Lonicera japonica. METHODS:HPCE was performed silica capillary column with detection wavelength of 360 nm and separation voltage of 20 kV,electrokinetic sampling,sampling voltage of 15 kV,sampling time of 5 s,operation temperature of 25 ℃.The buffer was consisted of 60 mmol/L sodium tetraborate-50 mmol/L natrium carbonicum-50 mmol/L hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(pH 9.2). RE-SULTS:The linear ranges of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside were 0.06-0.56mg/mL (r=0.9881),0.08-0.56 mg/mL (r=0.9892),0.06-0.49 mg/mL(r=0.9796),respectively. RSDs of precision,stability and reproducibility tests were all lower than 2.0%. The recoveries were 96.12%-99.77%(RSD=1.29%,n=6),95.90%-98.35%(RSD=0.89%,n=6),94.07%-97.45%(RSD=1.33%,n=6),respectively. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple,accurate,stable and reproducible,and can be used for simultaneous determination of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside in L. japonica.
