Objective This study describes the protective effect of myocardial isehemic post- conditioning on ischemic-reperfused myocardium (I/ R) of diabetic rat and its Signaling mechanism. Methods Healthy SD rats weighing 25O-30Og were divided into 6 groups; (1) Blank control; (2) Ischemia-reperfusion; (3) Post conditioning; (4) Diabetic postconditioning ; (5) Diabetic ischemia-reperfusion; ( 6) Diabetic blank control group. Ten rats in each group were randomly selected. Introduction of diabetic rat model: 65 mg/kg STZ was injected into the intraperitoneal cavity, until 2 consecutive blood glucose measurements≥ 16.65 mmol/L were reached after48h. The diabetic model was successful when rats had following symptoms, such as more drinking, more eating, polyuria, weight loss and epilation. Langendorff isolated rat heart perfusion was used for the experiment. Following parameters were measured and compared: Coronary perfusion flow, myocardial infarct size, western blot for measurement of P-Akt, changes in myocardium and mitochondrian observed by Electron microscopy. Results Blood glucose concentration in diabetic group was (23. 15±2. 16) mmol/L and (4. 16±0. 31) mmol/L in non-diabetic group. There was a significant difference (P <0. 01) between the two groups. There were more coronary flow in post-conditioning groups (Post group and Dpost group) than ischemia-reperfusion groups (IR group and DIR group) (6.5±1.2、5.6±1.0 vs. 3.4±1.0、2.0±1.3). The myocardial infarction size was smaller in post-conditioning groups than in ischemia-reperfusion groups (25.2±2.1、34.2±3.6 vs. 47.5±3.5 、65.2±4.5). There was more expression of P-Akt and the myocardial fibers and mitochondrian in post-conditioning groups were better preserved. Conclusion Postconditioning has protective effects in diabetic rat hearts. The mechanism may be associated with Akt activation.

Objective To analyze the endoscopic and pathologic characters of acute graft versus host disease(aGVHD) after aUogeneie bone marrow transplantation.Methods The endoscopic and pathologic findings of 4 patients with acute aGVHD were retrospectively analyzed.Results The clinical manifestations of 4 patients were abdominal pain and diarrhea occurred 21～57 days after bone marrow transplantation.The eolonoseopy detected mucosa edema,erosion and multiple ulcers.The pathological findings included epithelial necrosis accompanied with infiltration of lympbocytes and plasmacytes,no cytomegalovirus was found in biopsies,and aGVHD was diagnosed.Three patients recovered after the treatment with corticosteroids,while the other one died.Conclusion The intestine is involved in aGVHD after allogeneie bone marrow transplantation,and the diagnosis depends on eolonoscopy and biopsy.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy, toxicity and clinical benefit response of gemcitabine on advanced non small cell lung cancer in elderly. Methods Patients in the chemotherapy arm of the study received gemcitabine 1 250 mg/ m 2 as a intravenous infusion every 21 days .Patients in the best supportive care(BSC) arm should not receive chemotherapy or anticancer therapy. Objective To study the relationship between soluble CD147 (sCD147) level in peripheral blood and serum lipid level and explore the effect of sCD147 on atherosclerosis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods The level of sCD147 in 36 patients with RA,36 patients with coronary artery disease (CAHD) and 30 healthy volunteers was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) .The disease activity score (DAS28) in RA patients was evaluated and the correlation between sCD147 level and DAS28 score was analyzed.The serum lipid level of RA patients was detected by an automatic biochemical analyzer and the cor relation between sCD147 level and serum lipid level was analyzed.Results The level of sCD147 in serum of RA patients was significantly higher than that in patients with CAHD and healthy volunteers,sCDI47 level in the RA group with high DAS28 score was significantly higher than that with low or medium DAS28 score.In RA patients,elevated total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) level was positively correlated with serum sCDI47 level (r=0.84,P＜0.05;r=0.87,P＜0.05;while slightly elevated,normal TC and normal TG had no correlation with serum sCDI47 level (r=0.41,P=0.21;r=0.14,P=0.57;r=0.49,P=0.87).Elevated or slight ly elevated LDL-C was positively correlated with serum sCD147 level (r=0.86,P＜0.05;r=0.81,P＜0.05), while no correlation could be found in the group with normal LDL-C level (r=0.78,P=0.22).The high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) level decrease in RA patients had no correlation with serum sCD147 level (r--0.04,P=0.96;r=0.13,P--0.87).Conclusion sCD147 may be involved in the pathogenesis of RA and associate with disease activity.Elevated sCD147 level may be associated with abnormal serum lipid in RA.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of the myocaidial ischemic postconditioning on ischemic-reperfused myocardium of rat and its signaling mechanism.Methods Healthy SD rats weighing 250 to 300 g were divided into blank control(N) group,ischemiareperfusion(IR) group and postconditioning(Post) group.We measured heart coronary perfusion flow and myocardial infarct size of the rats in each group.The expression of phosphorylated protein kinase B(P-Akt) was detected by Western blot.The morphological changes of myocardial fibers and mitochondrial were observed under the transmission electron microscopy.Results More coronary flow and less myocardial infarction were found in Post group than those in IR group.The expression level of P-Akt was higher in Post group.The integrity of myocardial fibers and mitochondrial was better in Post group than IR group.Conclusion Postconditioning had a protective effect for the ischemic isolated rat heart.Akt activation might play an important role in its mechinism.

ObjectiveTo assess the value of Percolse, Angio-Seal vascular closure devices in emergency percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods603 patients undergoing emergency percutaneous coronary intervention were divided into manual compression group (n=160), Perclose group (n=237) and Angio-Seal group (n=206). The time of hemostasis, time of immobilization and the incidence of vascular complications were observed in each group. ResultsThe time of hemostasis, time of immobilization in vascular closure devices groups were significantly shorter than those in manual compression group (P<0.01). The incidence of vascular complications were significantly lower than those in manual compression group (P<0.01). There was no difference between Perclose group and Angio-Seal group (P>0.05). The rate of successful hemostasis was not significantly different among each group (P>0.05). ConclusionThe Perclose and Angio-Seal vascular closure device is safe and reliable hemostasis in emergency percutaneous coronary intervention.

AlM:To explore the primary culture conditions for four kinds of lens epithelial cells ( LECs) of rat, rabbit, dog, and human, and measure their growth characteristics.METHODS:The lens capsule or anterior capsular tissue of rat, rabbit, dog and patient were removed by different methods, and they were cut into tiny pieces for primary culture by modified tissue adherent method. The morphological features of four kinds of LECs were observed under an inverted microscope.RESULTS: Four kinds of LECs of rat, rabbit, dog and human could be cultured primarily by tissue adherent method. With the evolution of tissue source, the adherent capacity of LECs gradually strengthened, cells form were changed from irregular polygon to oval, nucleus rounded and cytoplasm enriched gradually. Four kinds of LECs had fibrotic changes after several passages.CONCLUSlON: LECs of rat, rabbit, dog and human can be primarily cultured. This method lays the foundation for the mechanism research of caratact and related fields on the cellular and molecular levels.
