Objective: To explore whether resveratrol can reduce intestinal damage in hemorrhagic shock rats and the underlying mechanism. Methods: A total of 24 Sprague-Dawley rats of speciif c pathogen free (SPF) were randomly divided into a control group(n=8), a resveratrol group (SR group,n=8) and a vehicle group (SS group,n=8). hT e mean arterial pressure was recorded. Two hours atf er hemorrhagic shock, 15 mg/kg resveratrol or 0.3 mL equal volume of vehicle and autologous blood were given, respectively. The intestinalspecimens were collected for hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and calculated the pathological score. The superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) and cytochrome C (Cyt C) protein expression was examined by immunohistochemistry and/or Western blot. ATP level, activities of glutathione peroxidase (GXH-px), catalase (CAT) and SOD were also detected. Results: Two hours atfer autologous blood transfusion, the mean arterial pressure in the SR group was signiifcantly higher than that in the SS group (P<0.01). Compared with the SS group, the pathological injury was signiifcantly alleviated and pathological scores were dramatically reduced in the SR group (P<0.05). hTe activities of GXH-px, CAT, SOD and the ATP levels in the SR group were signiifcantly higher than those in the SS group (allP<0.01). Compared with the SS group, the SOD2 expression was significantly higher while the Cyt C expression was dramatically lower in the SR group (both P<0.01). Conclusion: Resveratrol could alleviate the intestinal injury in hemorrhagic shock rats, which might be associated with its effects on reduction of oxidative stress and protection of mitochondria.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of greenlight photoselective vaporization of the prostate(PVP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) in aged patients. Methods A total of 90 aged patients with BPH underwent PVP with an 80 W KTP laser(Laserscope Company) under sacral or peridural anesthesia. Results The operative time was(42.5?18.4)min;the postoperative urinary catheter time was(2.5?0.8)d.Qmax increased significantly from(4.8?1.2)ml/s preoperatively to(18.6?1.4)ml/s postoperatively(t=22.566,P=0.000).International prostate symptom score decreased from(25.5?2.4)points preoperatively to(13.2?1.9)points postoperatively(t=12.286,P=0.000).Residual urine decreased from(76.3?9.4)ml preoperatively to(16.5?2.4)ml postoperatively(t=21.901,P=0.000).Transient dysuria occurred in 4 cases and postoperative delayed hemorrhage in 2 cases. No urinary incontinence occurred. Conclusions PVP for BPH is a safe and effective procedure, and suitable for aged and high-risk patients with BPH.

AIM: To isolate three kinds of bufadienolides composition from Venenum bufonis in order to investigate their antitumor activity in vitro.METHODS: Alcohol extraction and isolation by Silica gel colume were employed in this study.Their antitumor activities in vitro were evaluated by MTT colorimetric method.RESULTS: With such methods, three kinds of bufadienolides, including Bufalin, cinobufagin, and resibufogenin with purity above 90% were prepared. The in-vitro results showed that three kinds of bufadienolides had prominent inhibition effect on human lung cancer A549 cells, human breast cancer MDA-MB-435 cells in the range of 0.001 ?g/mL ~ 100 ?g/mL.CONCLUSION: Isolation by Silica gel colume can be used to separate three kinds of bufadienolides from Venenum bufonis and its constituents has prominent anti-cancer effects.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(02):-
Recently, the progress in employing transplanting stem cells to cure injured retina is very fast and has been continuously yielding exciting results.Various sources are used in the studies, including retina-derived cells such as M?ller cells and ciliary body cells, and non-retina-derived cells such as embryonic stem cells and brain-derived stem cells. This review briefly discusses the recent progress of these studies.

Chinese Journal of Urology 2000;0(01):-
Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) independent Cushing syndrome. Methods A retrospective review was done on 89 patients with ACTH independent Cushing syndrome, including 85 cases of adrenal tumors with hypercorticism, 2 cases of adrenocortical adenocarcinoma and 2 cases with ACTH independent macronodular adrenal hyperplasia. Results Favorable results were observed from the surgery for 85 cases of adrenal tumors combined with hypercorticism. Two cases with ACTH independent macronodular adrenal hyperplasia were cured by bilateral adrenolectomy. Adrenal cortical adenocarcinoma was unresectable for both the patients who survived 7 and 9 months respectively. Plasma ACTH,dexamethasone suppression test,B ultrasonography and CT scan were useful for the diagnosis and differentiated diagnosis of ACTH independent Cushing syndrome. Conclusions Prognosis of adrenal tumors with hypercorticism and ACTH independent macronodular adrenal hyperplasia is favorable after surgery, whereas the prognosis of adrenal cortical adenocarcinoma is poor.

International Eye Science 2015;(1):134-135
AlM:To evaluate the effect of intralamellar cryolysis of cornea with amniotic membrane transplantation on painful bullous keratopathy ( PBK) .?METHODS: Randomly selected 156 cases ( 156 eyes ) with PBK who underwent surgery of intralamellar cryolysis of cornea with amniotic membrane transplantation. Followed up with 2 ~ 3mo, the symptoms of eye pain, corneal epithelial blisters, foreign body sensation and postoperative complications were observed.?RESULTS:Pain symptoms disappeared in all patients, and corneal epithelial blisters disappeared in 130 cases (83. 3%). All agonizing pain symptoms disappeared, but patients had occasional foreign - body sensation, occasional corneal epithelial blisters in 24 cases ( 15. 4%) . Two weeks after surgery, corneal stroma dissolved, 2 cases ( 1. 3%) of them were cured by conjunctival flap cover.?CONCLUSlON:The operation of intralamellar cryolysis of cornea with amniotic membrane transplantation can relieve the pain in 98. 7% of PBK patients and simple therapy for treating PBK. Hence, it's be worth to advocate for relieve the pain of patients.

Objective To investigate the relationship between circulating tumor cells(CTCs) in peripher-al blood and the prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients. Method From Mar 2010 to Mar 2015, patients with pancreatic cancer in guangzhou first people′s hospital were enrolled in this study. Immunomagetic negative en-richhment together with immunofluorescence were used to identify CTCs. The clinical data of all patients were analyzed. Result No CTCs were found in peripheral blood of healthy control cases. The detection date of CTCs was 60.0%. The positive rate of CTCs was closely correlated with cell differentiation and the clinical stage. Con clusion CTCs count in old patients with pancreatic cancer can reflect the status of the patients and is help-ful for the diagnosis of micrometastasis , re-determination of the clinical stage and the guidance of patients′s treatment. CTCs count can predict the survival time of elderly patients with pancreatic cancer.
