Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2008;17(7):609-610
Objective To evaluate the quality of life and correlated factors in patients with condyloma acuminatum (CA). Methods 101 patients with CA and 50 healthy people as control were assessed by using the questionnaire of QOL-35. Results Compared with control group, the total score and general, physical, inde-pendence, psychological, social, environment domains scores of QOL were lower significantly in the CA group ( P <0.05). The QOL score has negative correlation with course of disease( r= -0.233, P<0.05), recurrence times(r= -0.556, P<0.05). Nevertheless, it has no noticeable correlation with gender, age, marital status, education, career (P0.05). Conclusion Quality of life was lower in patients with CA, and it was closely related with the course of disease and recurrence times.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1995;0(04):-
In order to study the relationship of keratin 5 gene and Weber-Cockayne epidermolysis bullosa simplex (WC-EBS), we use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification combined with single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) methods and DNA sequenceing to detect the point mutation of keratin 5 in a family of WC-EBS. The results showed that there is a G→T substitution at the third base pair of codon 327, which caused methionine changed into isoleucine. This abnormality of keratin structure makes the normal assembly of tonofilaments impossible. Furthermore, the above change resulted in blister formation and epidermolysis clinically. This indicates that PCR-SSCP is useful for the gene and prenatal diagnosis of genodermatoses and also provides the basis of theroies for gene therapy.
3.Effect of two different surgeries on corneal endothelial cells in grade Ⅱ - Ⅲ lens nucleus
International Eye Science 2017;17(10):1878-1882
AIM: To compare the effect of small incision extracapsular cataract extraction and phacoemulsification on corneal endothelial cells and explore the differences between these two most commonly used surgeries for grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ lens nucleus. · METHODS: Retrospective study. We retrospectively evaluated the data of age-related cataract patients who had completed surgery in our hospital between June 2013 and December 2015. There were 84 eyes of 84 patients. The corneal endothelial cell density of all the patients were greater than 2000/mm2 and lens nucleus were gradeⅡ- Ⅲ. The patients were divided into manual small incision cataract surgery ( MSICS ) group and phacoemulsification ( Phaco ) group. MSICS group included 42 cases (42 eyes) and Phaco group included 42 cases ( 42 eyes ) . Postoperative evaluations were performed at 1d, 1wk, 1mo and 6mo and included uncorrected visual acuity ( UCVA ) , corneal endothelial cell density and the proportion of hexagonal cells. · RESULTS: There were no statistically significant differences of the two groups in preoperative basic data, UCVA, corneal endothelial cell density and the proportion of hexagonal cells, nuclear classification. The postoperative UCVA were significantly improved in both groups (x2=148. 01, P<0. 001; x2=165. 97, P<0. 001). The postoperative UCVA were on the rise as time goes on. The postoperative corneal endothelial cell density was obviously reduced in both groups compared with the preoperative (F=37. 74, P<0. 001; F=24. 56, P<0. 001). The proportion of hexagonal cells in Phaco group was declined at 1d (P=0. 002) after the operation and returned to baseline by 1wk (P=0. 894) after surgery. There was no significant difference between the two groups in UCVA, corneal endothelial cell density and the proportion of hexagonal cells at each observation point (P>0. 05). ·CONCLUSION: Manual small incision cataract surgery and phacoemulsification can indiscriminately improve UCVA and decrease the density of corneal endothelial cells. However, the change of hexagonal cells proportion was not obvious. These two surgeries for cataract patients with corneal endothelial cell density greater than 2000/mm2 , grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ lens nucleus have similar efficacy and safety.

Objective:To compare and analyse the clinical outcome, advantages and disadvantages of submental artery island flap (SAIF) and free anterolateral thigh flap (ALTF) in the repair and reconstruction of tongue after radical surgery of tongue cancer. Methods:From January, 2016 to December, 2018, a total of 40 patients received tongue repair and reconstruction with either SAIF or ALTF after radical resection of tongue cancer. There were 28 males and 12 females, with an average age of 51 years old. Eighteen patients received tongue repair and reconstruction with SAIF and 22 with ALTF. Postoperative follow-up were carried out and the clinical data were collected. Swallowing, speech and softness of the tongue between the 2 repair methods were compared and statistically analysed. P<0.05 indicated a significant statistical difference between 2 groups. Results:All flaps survived. One ALTF had a venous vascular crisis. The flap survived after the removal of thrombus at the anastomotic site. Functional recovery of tongue was analysed after the follow-up of 12-48 months. It was found that there was no significant difference in speech function between the 2 groups (SAIF vs ALTF: 13 vs 15, P=0.206). The swallowing dysfunction in SAIF group was significantly higher than that of the ALTF group (SAIF vs ALTF: 15 vs 7, P=0.014). Moreover, the average time of surgery in SAIF group (3.5 h) was significantly less than that of the ALTF group (6.8 h), which had statistically significance ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The SAIF and ALTF are ideal flaps for repairing the tongue defect caused by tongue cancer surgery. SAIF features a simple surgical procedure and a short time for flap taking. ALTF provides sufficient amount of tissue to cover the scars left by the surgery, reduce donor site complications, and benefit the recovery of swallowing and speech functions.

BACKGROUND: The relationship between cellular morphosis and function is undetachable, but there is little investigation about ultrastructure of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs).OBJECTIVE: To study the relationship between the functions of hUCMSCs and their ultrastructure obtained by atomic force microscope (AFM). METHODS: hUCMSCs were isolated, cultured, expanded after enzyme digestion. P3 cells were observed under AFM. Immunophenotype and cell cycle were analyzed by flow cytometry, as well as induction of the adipogenic, osteogenic differentiation of hUCMSCs were identified using Oil red O staining and alkaline phosphatase staining. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: hUCMSCs at passage 3 were strongly positive for CD44 and CD29, weakly positive for CD106, but negative for hematopoietic marker CD34. Cells in G_0/G_1 phase accounted for 80%. Proliferation index was 19.9%. Following adipogenic induction, alkaline phosphatase staining demonstrated brown cytoplasm in cube and polygonal cells. AFM showed hUCMSCs were spindle shape, obvious cytoskeletal filament that connected into nets, which fit for the strong capacities for proliferation, migration and differentiation.

Objective To investigate the related factors of recurrence of early gastric cancer (EGC) after endoscopic resection. Methods Clinicopathologic data of 169 patients with EGC who underwent endoscopic resection and periodically followed up by the Chinese PLA General hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results During a follow-up of 13-57 months (median time 24. 5 months), 12patients had gastric cancer again and the recurrence rate was 7. 1% (12/169). The recurrence time varied from 3 to 36 (28 ± 23)months and the median time was 18 months. The recurrence rates of 0.5 year, 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year were 1.18% (2/169), 3.55% (6/169), 9.91% (11/111) and 12.24%(12/98), respectively. Eleven patients had gastric cancer again within 2 years after resection.Undifferentiated histology (including poorly differentiated carcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma),submucosal infiltration and lymphovascular invasion of the primary lesion of EGC were related to thepostsurgical recurrence ( all P < 0. 05). Conclusion Most recurrence of EGC occurred within 2 years afterendoscopic resecton and is related with undifferentiated histology, submucosal infiltration andlymphovascular invasion. It is important for these patients to receive endoscopy follow up.
