1.THE EFFECT OF DIETARY VITAMIN E ON THE METABOLISM OF SELENIUM IN RATS RAISED WITH KESHAN DISEASE DIETS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
The effect of Vitamin E on the metabolism of selenium in weaning Wistar rats raised with low selenium and low vitamin E Keshan disease diet and with the basal diet supplemented with selenium and/or a-tocopherol acetate was investigated. The results showed that:(1)On the same level of selenium in the diets, a-tocopherol supplemented to the diets might increase the selenium level of liver. No significant effect was found in other organs.(2)Whether the selenium was deficient in the diet or not, the GSHPx activities in blood, heart and liver of vitamin E deficient animals were lower than that of animals supplemented with vitamin E.(3)Supplementation of vitamin E to the diet decreased the selenium excretion in urine, and increased the selenium retention in tissues both in selenium deficient group and in selenium supplemented group.

3.Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the effective part and effective components of Radix Puerariae
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(03):-
Objective To establish a qualitative and quantitative method for controlling the quality of Radix Puerariae and its preparation. Methods The qualitative fingerprint of effective part (extract part of ethyl acetate) was obtained by using RP-HPLC with methanol-water (42∶58) as mobile phase and UV detection at 250 nm . The quantitative measurement of effective components (puerarin and daidzein) was finished under the above chromatographic conditions. And the 11 kinds of different samples of Radix Puerariae were analyzed by the method. Results Under the qualitative conditions, the 5 common peaks in RP-HPLC fingerprint of the effective part could be used as index peaks for qualitative identification. In RP-HPLC quantitative analysis, the recoveries of the method were 98.0% with RSD of 1.30% for puerarin and 95.4% with RSD of 1.61% for daidzein, respectively. The amount of puerarin and daidzein in Radix Puerariae was 0.213%~3.626% and 0.012%~ 0.049% , respectively. Conclusion The analytical method with qualitative fingerprint of effective part and quantitative measurement of effective components of Radix Puerariae can be accurately used for controlling its quality.
4.SOME INTERFERENCE IN THE ASSAY OF VITAMIN E IN BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
In this work, some interference in the assay of vitamin E in liver and serum was studied and the method was improved. The sample must be protected from oxidative attack. The interference of high vitamin A content in liver could be removed by H2SO4. The amount of KOH for saponification must be in keeping with the amount of sample assayed both in synthetic a-tocopherol and in biological material by fluorometry. A linear correlation of the fluorescence and the vitamin E content was obtained when 0.5ml of 10 N KOH was used for the saponification of 0.5-100?g of ?-tocopheryl acetate.
5.Assessment of diagnosis value of DIAGNOdent in early occlusal caries
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(03):-
Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of KaVo DIAGNOdent(DD)by comparing the diagnostic results of visual examination(VE)and stereomicroscope. Methods:The occlusal surface of 68 extracted teeth were examined by DD and VE,confirmed the examining points and marked, then cut these teeth along the markers. The results of stereomicroscope were classified into D0,D1,2,D3,4 according to the occlusal caries' depth, and recognized as gold standard. The difference of sensitivity, specificity between VE and DD,and their coherence were analyzed. Results:Sensitivity of DD,in D3,4 level of occlusal caries, was the highest.Compared to the results of stereomicroscope, the accuracy of DD and VE was the highest in D3,4 level. The coherence of DD and VE was low in all levels. Conclusion:The present cut-off point of DD affects the assessment of DD diagnostic result.Future study about key points of diagnosis of DD can widen its use in clinic.
6.Changes and clinical of serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D levels in rheumatoid arthritis
International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2015;(15):2224-2225
Objective To observe the changes of serum 25‐hydroxy vitamin D[25‐(OH)D] level of patients with rheumatoid ar‐thritis(RA) and study its clinical significance .Methods The method of chemiluminescence was adopted to detect peripheral blood serum 25‐(OH) D of 60 cases of RA patients(RA group) and 60 cases of healthy people(control group) .Results The serum 25‐(OH) D level of patients in RA group was(34 .37 ± 8 .87) nmol/L ,while that of the control group was(61 .33 ± 7 .74) nmol/L ;after comparison ,the differences were statistically significant (t= -6 .892 ,P< 0 .05);the serum 25‐(OH) D level of patients in RA group was in negative correlation with RA patient age ,body mass index(BMI) ,time of morning stiffness ,tender joint count(TJC) , swollen joint count(SJC) ,C‐reactive protein(CRP) ,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) ,visual analog scale(VAS) for disease o‐verall pain and health assessment questionnaire (HAQ) and disease activity score (DAS28)(r= -0 .201 ,-0 .255 ,-0 .362 ,-0 .296 ,-0 .273 ,-0 .198 ,-0 .323 ,-0 .356 ,-0 .379 ,-0 .418 ;P<0 .05 in all cases);but had no correlation with course of dis‐ease ,rheumatoid factor (RF) ,anti‐cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody (anti‐CCP) and antibody concentration (P> 0 .05) . Conclusion The serum 25‐(OH) D level of RA patients is significantly low ,which might be associated with the RA disease activi‐ty .

8.Numerical analysis of the effect of capillary geometry on oxygen transport in the microcirculation by MATLAB
Journal of Medical Biomechanics 2009;24(4):263-269
Objective Delivery of oxygen in tissues is limited in the space where oxygen must diffuse between the vascular and the surrounding tissues. Normal capillaries are relatively straight and well spaced, in contrast, the tumor vascular networks usually display more irregularity and the vessel wall shows higher permeability and less elasticity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of capillary elasticity and tortuosity on the oxygen distribution and make further investigation on the mechanism of the formation of hypoxic regions in tumor. Method One-dimensional capillary model was coupled with the oxygen diffusion model. Oxygen transport was investigated in a Krogh and tortuous tissue model. The capillarygeometrywas obtained bythe one-dimensional model and transferred to the tissue model. Finite element method was employed in the analysis. Result The capillary radii along the flow direction under pressures were obtained for different initial radii and the oxygen distribution in the Krogh cylinder tissue model and the model with a tortuous capillary were computed. Conclusions when the capillary radius is small, the effect of vessel elasticity may have not significant effect on the oxygen distribution. However, with the capillary radius increasing, the effect on the oxygen transport becomes obvious. Moreover, with the tortuosity of the capillary increasing, the oxygen distribution becomes more heterogeneous, which is in agreement with the result in available reference. This work will be helpful to the investigation of oxygen transport within tumor.
