Objective To explore research methods in nursing of ankle pump exercises for femoral shaft fractures. Methods 60 cases with femoral shaft fractures were randomly divided into the experiment group and the control group. The experiment group was required to do with the plantar flexion of ankle joint by 45°for 3 seconds and dorsiflexion by 30°to neu-tral position for 3 seconds, while the control group was required to maintain the posture (the same in the experiment group) for 10 seconds.Femoral vein blood flow, the surface electromyography of hindlimb flexors and extensors and limb swelling, as well as the VAS score in both two groups were observed. Results The peak blood flow velocity of femoral vein, the surface muscle strength of hindlimb flexors and extensors, the treatment efficiency of limb swelling and the VAS score in the experi-ment group were superior to those in the control group (p<0.05).The peak time of femoral venous reflux was 3 seconds in both two groups, with no statistical significance (p>0.05).Conclusion Ankle pump exercises with the plantar flexion of ankle joint and dorsiflexion maintaining for 3 seconds beneficial for limb functional rehabilitation.
