Objective To establish and investigate C57 BL/6 mice model of radiation induced heart injury and ser-um marker. Methods Twenty eight female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:normal group (n=4 ) , 18 Gy radiation therapy group ( n=12 ) , 25 Gy radiation therapy group ( n=12 ) . The mice were weighed every week. Respectively, 0, 8 and 16 weeks after irradiation, the pathological changes of myocardial tissue were observed by hemetoxylin-eosin( HE) staining and made pathological score. Inferior vena cava blood was collected to take cardiac troponin I ( cTnI) test. Results Compared with the normal group, the weight of radiation group went down first then went up slowly. The myocardial tissue from mice had obvious histopathological changes. Acute in-flammation was the main change in the early days. At the late stage, progressive fibrosis was the main characteris-tic. With the increase of the dose, the inflammatory reaction and fibrosis degree had aggravated, pathological chan-ges had occurred earlier. cTnI showed a trend of higher performance over time, and had a correlation with patholo-gy. Conclusion We successfully established radiation induced myocaridal injury model. As a noninvasive serum marker, cTnI can be used as the evaluation standard of radiation induced myocardial injury animal model.

A highly sensitive electrochemical deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) biosensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNT)/Ag-TiO_2 composite film was developed. The solution containing Ag-TiO_2-MWNT composite was casted on the carbon paste electrode surface to form a robust film, which combine the advantages of the good biocompatibility of Ag-TiO_2 naocomposite and the fine conductivity, as well as the large active surface area of carbon nanotubes. The composite could greatly improve the immobilization capacity of the probe DNA. The morphologies and electrochemistry of the nanocomposite film were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical techniques including electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry, respectively. DNA hybridization events were monitored by a label-free method of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. This label-free electrochemical impedance DNA biosensor showed high sensitivity and selectivity for phosphinothricin acetyltransferase gene sequence assay. The multicomponents films also displayed a high stability during repeated regeneration and hybridization process.

In this paper, the chloroplast psbK-psbI intergenic spacers of 18 species of Dendrobium and their adulterants were amplified and sequenced, and then the sequence characteristics were analyzed. The sequence lengths of chloroplast psbK-psbI regions of Dendrobium ranged from 474 to 513 bp and the GC contents were 25.4%-27.6%. The variable sites were 71 while the informative sites were 46. The inter-specific genetic distances calculated by Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) of Dendrobium were 0.006 1-0.058 1, with an average of 0.028 4. The K2P genetic distances between Dendrobium species and Bulbophyllum odoratissimum were 0.093 2-0.120 4. The NJ tree showed that the Dendrobium species can be easily differentiated from each other and 6 samples of the inspected Dendrobium species were identified successfully through sequencing the psbK-psbI intergenic spacer. Therefore, the chloroplast psbK-psbI intergenic spacer can be used as a candidate marker to identify Dendrobium species and its adulterants.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(5):1111-1120
This study aims to detect early changes of kidney in patients with primary hypertension by 3.0 T functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). 26 patients with primary hypertension (hypertension group) and 33 healthy volunteers (control group) underwent conventional and functional magnetic resonance scans, which included blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) MRI, diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). We measured renal cortical thickness (CT), parenchymal thickness (PT), and functional values of renal cortex and medulla including R2* value, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value and fractional anisotropy (FA) value in each group, and then calculated the cortical/parenchymal thickness ratio (CPR). Compared with those in the control group, CT and CPR in hypertension group were larger (P < 0.01), cortical and medullar R2* values increased (P < 0.01) whereas medullar FA values decreased (P < 0.05). It could be well concluded that noninvasive 3.0 T functional MRI would have important clinical significance in identifying early abnormalities of kidney in hypertension patients.
