1.The relationship between work engagement and job-person fit among nurses

Objective To explore the relationship between work engagement and job-person fit among nurses.Methods 465 nurses from five first-class general hospitals in Chengdu were assessed by the Utrecht Work Engagement scale(UWES)and the Areas of Worklife Survey(AWS).Results The mean value of work engagement among nurses was (3.21±1.09).Work engagement and job-person fit were positively related.Regression analysis suggested that job-person fits were significant predictors of nurses'work engagement.Exactly,value fit,workload fit,control fit and fairness fit were effective predictors of vigor.Value fit,fairness fit,reward fit and workload fit were effective predictors of dedication.Value fit,control fit,fairness fit and community fit were effective predictors of absorption.Conclusions The work engagement in nurses was at the moderate level.Job-person fits were powerful predictors of work engagement.Good fit among the six areas of work life can improve the work engagement among nurses.
2.Expression of LC3B in cervical squamous carcinoma and its relationship with Ki-67 expression

Purpose To investigate the expression of autophagy-related protein LC3B in cervical squamous carcinoma and its relation-ship with Ki-67 expression. Methods To detect the expression of LC3B in 16 cases of normal cervical tissues and 126 cases of squa-mous cell carcinoma by immunohistochemical staining. In addition, Ki-67 protein was also detected in 126 cases of squamous cell car-cinoma in the same assay. The relationship between LC3B expression and Ki-67 in cervical squamous cell cancer was statistical analy-sis. Results Expression level of LC3B were significantly lower in cervical squamous carcinoma than normal squamous epithelial cells (P<0. 05), and the expression of LC3B was negatively correlated with Ki-67(rs = -0. 248, P<0. 05). Conclusion It appears that decreased levels of autophagy which indicated by low expression of LC3B may promote cancer cell proliferation in the early stages of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, which provides a clinical referential evidence for further explore the mechanism of autophagy in cer-vical cancer development.
3.Application of OCT measurement of macular GCC and RNFL thickness around optic disc in the diagnosis of early glaucoma

AIM: To study the application of macular ganglion cell complex (mGCC) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (pRNFL) measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the early diagnosis of glaucoma.METHODS: Case-control study.Eighty-six subjects, including 30 eyes in normal subjects, 27 eyes in suspected primary open angle glaucoma, 29 eyes in primary open angle glaucoma were enrolled in this study.The thickness of mGCC and pRNFL were measured by OCT.The area under the receiver operating characteristic(AROC) curve at fixed specificities were calculated for each parameter.RESULTS: There were significant differences in mean pRNFL thickness, superior pRNFL thickness and inferior pRNFL thickness between normal group, suspected glaucoma group and early glaucoma group (P=0.001, 0.004, 0.011).The mean mGCC thickness, the thickness of the top mGCC, the thickness of the lower mGCC were statistically significant (P=0.008, 0.002, 0.003);the difference of general loss of volume (GLV) and focal loss of volume (FLV) between the three groups was statistically significant (P=0.002).Compared with the normal group, all the pRNFL and the mGCC parameters were higher in the suspected glaucoma group, and the FLV had the highest AROC (0.801), all the remaining AROC was >0.700 except above Prnlf (0.688).Compared with the normal group and the early glaucoma group, all the pRNFL and the mGCC had higher AROC, average mGCC was hightest(0.804), all parameters AROC were >0.700 except mean pRNFL (0.683).In suspected glaucoma group, 58% patients had abnormal mGCC thickness and 23% had abnormal pRNFL thickness;in early glaucoma group, 98%patients had abnormal mGCC thickness and 90% had abnormal pRNFL thickness;in normal group, 93%patients had abnormal mGCC thickness and 93%had abnormal pRNFL thickness, the correlation between the three groups was statistically significant (x2=12.11, P<0.05).CONCLUSION: OCT measurement of mGCC thickness and pRNFL thickness in early glaucoma have good diagnostic ability;mGCC thickness measurement can be used as an effective method for early diagnosis of glaucoma.
4.Clinical diagnosis of central nervous system lymphoma:A report of 3 cases

Analysis was made in 3 patients with central nervous system lymphoma(CNSL) with different manifestations;neuroradiological and immunocytological investigations were used to improve the clinical diagnosis of CNSL.Three patients with CNSL presented with 3 distinct profiles:diffuse meningeal invasion, intracranial masses of tumor and intramedullary spinal invasion. Both contrast enhanced CT and MR provided CNSL lesions in the brain parenchyma and meninges. It is suggested that combining CT,MR findings and immunological markers can improve clinical diagnosis of CNSL.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between electrophysiology and pathology changes in diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) rats and to assess the value of electrophysiology in diagnosis of DPN. Methods: Twenty-four healthy male SD rats were intraperitoneally injected with a single dose of streptozotocin to induce DPN models and the rats were subsequently divided into 3 groups, namely, the DPN model group, the low dose Tong-Luo composite recipe (TLCR) group, and the high dose TLCR group. Rats in the latter 2 groups were lavaged with 2 ml double-distilled water containing 0.5 g/kg and 2 g/kg TLCR for 8 weeks, respectively. Antother 8 healthy rats were taken as normal controls. The motor conduction velocity (MCV), sensory conduction velocity (SCV), and potential latency and amplitude of caudal nerves were measured after 8 weeks in all rats. Morphometric quantitative analysis was also performed. Results: Compared with normal control group, the MCV, SCV, and potential amplitude of the caudal nerve in DPN model group were decreased, but the potential latency was increased. After TLCR treatment, the above indices were significantly improved and were close to those of the normal control group. AIM:To determine whether caudatin , a C21 steroidal aglycone , enhances tumor necrosis factor-re-lated apoptosis-inducing ligand ( TRAIL)-associated HepG2 cell apoptosis .METHODS:Cell growth inhibition was deter-mined by MTT assay and cell colony formation assay .The TUNEL apoptosis detection kit was used to analyze cell apopto-sis, and the protein expression was examined by Western blotting .RESULTS:Combination of caudatin with TRAIL signi-ficantly reduced cell proliferation and increased the apoptotic rate of HepG 2 cells compared with the use of each agent alone.This was evidenced by marked increases in caspase-3, caspase-7, caspase-9 and PARP cleavages in the cells treated with caudatin and TRAIL-compared with control group .Combination of caudatin with TRAIL also led to the strong suppres-sion of survivin .CONCLUSION:Caudatin synergizes HepG 2 cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis by promoting the cleava-ges of caspase-3, caspase-7, caspase-9 and PARP and inhibiting the expression of survivin .
10.Effect of palato-pharyngo-plastry on patients with coronary heart disease plus obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome

Objective To investigate the effect of palato-pharyngo-plastry on patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) plus obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). Methods The 113 OSAHS patients with CHD after palato-pharyngo-plastry from January 2001 to December 2006 were enrolled and followed up. The other 125 cases treated with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) were as control group. Results The fundmental factors of CHD including cholesterol, triglyeride, fasting blood glucose and body mass index (BM1) showed no statistical differences between two groups (x2 or t= 4.788, 0.479, 0.541, all P>0.05) . Only the oxyhemoglobin saturation during sleep was higher in study group than in control group [(91.2± 2.5)% vs. (87.6±4.2)%, P=0.046]. The angiography showed that 87 cases (77.0%) retained stable, 24 cases (21.2%) became severe in study group. As compared with control group, there were no statistical differences (both P>0.05). 37 cases (32.7%) in study group and 58 cases (46.4%) in control group who suffered from angina became severe with statistical differences between two groups (x2=4.615, P=0.032). The incidences of myocardial infarction and sudden death were lower in study group (3.5% and 0.8%) and in control group (5.6% and 2.4%), showed no statistical, difterences be tween twogroups. x2=0.571 and 0.495, P>0. 05). Conclusions Compared with CPAP, the palato-pharyngo-plastry can improve oxyhemoglobin saturation and reduce angina symptom, but has no better effect on progress of coronary atherosclerosis and acute coronary disease than CPAP.
