Objective To study whether 3D computerized pre?operative planning is accuracy and reliability in CroweⅣtype developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods Between September 2009 and February 2011, 20 CroweⅣtype DDH patients (20 hips) were included in this study. The 3D pre?operative planning was performed using Mimics software to predict the acetabular component size, acetabular component abduction angle, hip rota?tion center position, the acetabular component coverage and number of patients received structural bone graft. The results were compared with traditional acetate templating technique and post?operative results. Results 70%(14/20) components were pre?dicted exactly and 30%(6/20) components were predicted with one size using 3D computerized planning, comparing with 25%(5/20) components were exactly, 45%(9/20) components were with one size and 30%(6/20) were with two size or more using conven?tional acetate templating technique. Statistically analysis revealed that 3D planning was more accuracy than templating technique regarding acetabular component prediction (t=-4.66, P=0.00). There was no significant difference between the 3D computerized planned acetabular component abduction angle (3D plan 41.10°±4.87°, postoperative 44.98°±10.83°, t=0.88, P=0.42), hip rota?tion center distance (horizontal distance:3D plan 77.51 ± 7.78 mm, postoperative 79.85 ± 8.61 mm, t=-1.95, P=0.11;vertical dis?tance:3D plan 42.79±8.22 mm, postoperative 44.98±10.83 mm, t=-1.27, P=0.26), acetabular component host coverage (3D plan 77.73%± 10.51%, postoperative 78.98%± 10.24%, t=-1.84, P=0.09), and that found post?operatively. Five patients were consid?ered to need structural bone graft according to 3D computerized planning, which was highly coincident with the intraoperative find?ings in all five cases. Conclusion 3D computerized pre?operative planning using Mimics software is an accurate and reliable technique in treating CroweⅣtype DDH patients undergoing THA.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate antioxidant effects of different extract parts from Aquilaria sinensis leaves. METH-ODS:A. sinensis leaves were extracted by reflux extraction with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, absolutely ethanol, water to obtain corresponding parts (AGP,AGE,AGA and AGW parts). The ability of different extracts eliminating ABTS+ free radical,DPPH free radical and O2-free radical and reducing Cu2+ were investigated. IC50 was also calculated. Vitamin C(VC)was used as positive control in above tests. RESULTS:Those parts eliminated above free radicals and reduced Cu2+ in concentration-dependant manner, among which maximal elimination rate of AGA and AGW parts to ABTS+ free radical were 100% and 81.07%(IC50=14.89,23.12 mg/L)and higher than that of VC(88%);those of other parts were less than 50%. The maximal elimination rate of AGA parts to DPPH free radical was 67.74%(IC50=47.96 mg/L),but still lower than that of VC(91.44%);the elimination rates of other parts were all weak and lower than 40%. The maximal elimination rates of AGA and AGW parts to O2-free radical were 67.79% and 61.79%(IC50=393.01,421.04 mg/L),but still lower than that of VC(88%);the elimination rates of other parts were all lower than 33%. The maximal reduction percentage of AGP,AGE,AGA and AGW parts to Cu2+ were all higher than 50%(IC50=55.99, 40.27,25.44,31.06 mg/L,respectively),but still lower than that of VC (100%). CONCLUSIONS:Different extract parts from A. sinensis leaves have antioxidant activity in vitro, and that of AGA is the strongest.

Objective To explore the neuropsychological development in twin premature infants, and to analyze the risk factors for the retardation of development. Methods The premature infants hospitalized in the Neonatal Ward First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from Jun.2010 to Jun.2012 were divided into study groups of twin premature infants and a control group of singleton premature infants. The neuropsychological development of 88 premature infants was evaluated at corrected gestational age of 1 year old by Bayley scales of infant development.According to normal lab findings of the Bayley scales of infant development, the premature infants were then divided into abnormal neuropsychological development group [mental development index(MDI) ≤79 scores] and normal neuropsychological development group (MDI > 79 scores),and the data of 2 groups were statistically analyzed. Results The frequency distribution of MDI score in study group showed a skewed distribution,of which 59% (27/46 cases) had abnormal neuropsychological development (MDI ≤ 79 scores); However, the frequency distribution of MDI score in control group showed an approximate normal distribution,of which only 12% (5/42 cases) for abnormal neuropsychological development.Head circumference, body length, body weight,MDI,psycho-motor development index of twin premature infants of one-year old were lower than those of the singleton premature infants of the same age,and the differences were statistically significant (all P <0.05).The single factor analysis demonstrated that the risk factors for abnormal neuropsychological development (MDI ≤ 79 scores) of twin premature infants were gestational age, birth weight, mother' s gcstational age,the cultural degree of parents, mode of feeding, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, neonatal hypoglycemia and neonatal sepsis.Multiple regression analysis showed that neonatal hyperbilirubinemia was the independent risk factor for abnormal neuropsychological development of twin premature infants. Conclusions At same gestational age, neuropsychological development of twin premature infants lagged behind singleton premature infants.Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia may be the risk factors for neuropsychological development of twin premature infants,so the earlier management of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia may be beneficial for the neuropsychological development of twin premature infants.
