Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;17(2):138-140
Objective: To measure the convergence angles of teeth in different teeth positions and different denture designs.Methods:Mesio-distal widths and labio-lingual widths were measured on 226 teeth according to three points in a line on three surfaces (gingival, middle and incise) of each tooth. The distance between every point and the counterpart point in the adjacent surface was measured. Then convergence angles were calculated. Results:The means of the angles were 4.13°±0.77°,4.14°±0.76°, 4.46°±0.95°, 4.76°±0.84° on the first and second premolar, the first and second molar, respectively . There were significant differences between the premolars and molars(P<0.05).On the dentures with the designs of monocrown, triunit-bridge and long bridge the means of the angles were 3.78°±0.74°,4.69°±0.75° and 5.08°±0.85° respectively, the angle on the denture with the design of monocrown was smaller than that of bridge (P<0.05).Conclusion:The convergence angles are different according to different teeth positions and different denture designs, so they should be adjusted according to the clinical requirements.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To investigate the effect of sintering temperature on the shrinkage and microstructure of dental fluorosilicic mica glass-ceramic with two different particle size. Methods:Fluorosilicic mica glass powder with average particle diameter of 72.8 ?m was named PO and that with average diameter of 4.5 ?m was named Pm. PO and Pm were molded by cool isostatic pressing technique and then sintered at different temperatures between 600-1 000 ℃. The shrinkage and microstructure of the sintered blocks of PO and Pm were systematically compared with each other. Results:The shrinkage of PO and Pm blocks were all increased as the temperature ascended. However, the shrinkage curves were distinctly different. At the same sintering temperature the shringkage of Pm was larger than that of PO. Moreover, the turning points of temperature (reflecting transition of the sintering mechanisms) of Pm was higher than that of PO. The microstructure observation showed that sintering at 950 ℃ resulted in mica crystal in glass-ceramics and the best compactness of the sintered blocks of both PO and Pm. Conclusion:Sintering glass powder of smaller particle size at 700-850 ℃ may achieve better sintering compactness.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(27):4405-4411
BACKGROUND: Kidney ischemia-reperfusion injury often combines with acute kidney and lung injury. The expression of cutin cel growth factor receptor (KGFR) and alpha sodiumchannel protein (α-ENaC) in kidney and lung after ischemia-reperfusion injury and the protective effect of α-melanocyte require further observation and research. OBJECTIVE:To explore the therapeutic effect of α-melanocyte on the expressions of KGFR and α-ENaC in rat models of ischemia-reperfusion injury. METHODS:A total of 30 healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group, ischemia-reperfusion group and α-MSH group. Models of renal ischemia-reperfusion injury were established by 30-minute ligation of renal artery in the ischemia-reperfusion and α-melanocyte groups. Rats in the control group were only used to expose the renal artery, no ligation. Rats in the α-melanocyte group were intraperitonealy injected with α-melanocyte (0.25 mg/kg) at 30 minutes before model establishment. Rats in the ischemia-reperfusion group were injected with 4 mL of physiological saline. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared with control group, water content of kidney and lung increased significantly in rats of ischemia-reperfusion group and a-MSH group, while the levels of KGFR and α-ENaC of kidney and lung in rats were lower (P < 0.05). Compared with the ischemia-reperfusion group, water content of kidney and lung in rats of a-MSH group decreased significantly, while the levels of KGFR and α-ENaC of kidney and lung increased gradualy (P < 0.05). Moreover, edema was significantly lessened in the rat kidney and lung. Results confirmed that after renal ischemia-reperfusion injury, KGFR and α-ENaC expression was consistent to the kidney and lung injury. α-MSH could increase the protein and mRNA expression of KGFR and α-ENaC in kidney and lung of rats, reduce the kidney and lung injury, and exert a certain protective effect.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(2):252-256
BACKGROUND:The third molar extraction may lead to different degrees of soft tissue damage. Ultrasound and ultrashort waves belong to hyperthermia, which can increase tissue temperature and improve the therapeutic efficacy of soft tissue stretch. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of soft tissue stretch combined with ultrasound and ultrashort wave therapy for patients who were recently diagnosed with trismus and pain folowing third molar removal. METHODS:Sixteen patients with trismus and pain after third molar removal were randomly divided into two groups: patients in stretch group received soft tissue stretch with ultrasound and ultrashort wave therapy, while those in control group received only ultrasound and ultrashort wave therapy. Patients received the treatment five times per week, totaly for 2 weeks. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:It was found that after treatment pain was significantly reduced at the temporomandibular joint, and the range of maximum active mouth opening increased significantly. The improvement in mouth opening and temporomandibular joint function was better in the stretch group than the control group. These findings indicate that ultrasound and ultrashort wave therapy can improve symptoms of trismus and pain folowing third molar removal, and the combination of ultrasound and ultrashort wave therapy and soft tissue stretch therapy can achieve more effective results.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of aerobic exercise on genome expression in human skeletal muscle. METHODS: Six healthy sedentary elderly men aged (66+9) years were selected from military cadre retirement centers and after exercise. Testing indices included height, weight, vital capacity, step index and maximal oxygen uptake. Needle biopsies were obtained from the skeletal muscle before and after the last training. Total RNA extracted from the samples was hybridized to Affymetrix U 133A platform, the gene expression datum was analyzed.RESULTS: Aerobic exercise was shown to improve cardiorespiratory function and reduce body fat of elder subjects. It could alter the genome expression in human skeletal muscle, the number of genes that passed filtering criteria was 725. The most differently expressed genes (n=20) were investigated in this study, in which there were 3 upregulated and 17 downregulated. According to gene function annotations, the differential genes were classified into 8 categories which concerned cellular component and biological process, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) searching showed 4 genes' metabolism pathway. CONCLUSION: Systematic aerobic exercise upregulates expression of enzyme genes concerning tricarboxylic acid cycle, and downregulates expression of genes conceming muscle protein synthesis and sphingolipid. It is suggested that aerobic exercise is good to protect human nerves' integrity, exerts positive action on anti-aging and accelerate the aerobic metabolism of lipid materials in vivo.

Objective Pulmonary dysfunction is common in the obese patients after laparoscopic surgery. To reduce or avoid this complication caused by improper combination of mechanical ventilatory parameters,we conducted the following trial of 3 factors with 3 levels of mechanical ventilation in order to explore the optimal combination with low airway pressure. Methods Patients were randomly allocated into 9 groups (k=3,n=27) according to the "30≤BMI<40" obesity index (ASAⅠ-Ⅱ). Anesthesia machine parameters were set as follows: respiratory frequency (f), tidal volume (VT), respiratory ratio (I:E) as the three factors of A, B, C, with 3 levels of f=15, 12, 9 (bpm), VT=8, 10, 12 (mL/kg), I:E=1:2.5, 1:2.0, 1:1.5. By using L9(3~4)K=3 repeat orthogonal experimental design and analysis table, the variable factors that affect the respiratory index such as the end tidal carbon dioxide pressure (P_(ET)CO_2), peak airway pressure (PIP), mean airway pressure (P_(mean)), and the end of endogenous airway pressure (PEEPi) were analyzed. Results In this study, 27 cases undergoing laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia were allocated into 9 experimental groups. The hemodynamics of these patients was stable, SPO_2 was kept at 100 percent during the operation. The results of different combinations were described as follows: ①P_(ET)CO_2: f and VT with different level had great impact on P_(ET)CO_2 (P<0.01), I:E had no significant difference in three levels (P>0.05);② PIP: f had great effect on PIP (P<0.05);VT and I:E in three levels also had significant effect on PIP(P<0.01);③ P_(mean): all the ventilation parameters with different combination had significant effect on P_(mean)(P<0.01). Conclusions The best combination of respiratory parameters is A3B1C2, i.e., f=9 bpm, VT=8 mL/kg, and I:E=1:2.0, which indicates that neither small tidal volume and faster frequency, nor slow frequency large tidal volume is a good choice. In order to let obese patients under general anesthesia obtain the best lung protective effect by low airway pressure with good ventilation, it is worth noting that: ①I:E has a great effect on airway pressure (PIP, P_(mean)), which is important for lung protection;②I:E has the opposite effect on PIP and P_(mean).
