1.Autoimmune response to sperm antigens in vasectomized rabbits and its relation to the change of blood lipids
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
For observing immune response to sperm antigens in vasectomized rabbits and its relation to the change of blood lipids, 20 rabbits vasectomized 7-9 months were divided into V-S and V-Ch groups; 20 nonmal male rabbits used as control were divided into C-S and C-Ch groups. Experimental results have shown: under stock diet vasectomy does not give rise to hyperlipemia in vaseetomized rabbits, under cholesterol diet the levels of blood lipids are higher in V-Ch than that in C-Ch; humoral immune response to sperm antigens in vasectomized rabbits is not inhibited by experimental hyperlipemia, while cellular immune is inhibited slightly.
2.Effect of vasectomy on testosterone receptor in rabbit prostate
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
14 Japanese white male rabbits were used in this experiment, 7 of themwere sham operation group (SOG), 7 were vasectomized group (VG). The changes of testo-sterone receptor in prostate and serum testosterone were measured 16 months after vasec-tomy. The results showed that the Kd values in cytosol in VG and SOG were 10.21 nMand 3.42 nM and the Bmax were 33.68 and 10.42 fmol/mgpro. respectively; the Kd va-lues in nucleus were 9.36 and 4.81 nM and Bmax were 440.90 and 203.66 fmol/mg DNArespectively. By single point analysis, the cytosolic testosterone receptor concentrationswere found to be 26.13?5.64 and 8.40?1.66 fmol/mgpro. respectively, being significan-tly higher in VG as compared with SOG (P

4. Hemostatic effect and safety of intravenous drip of tranexamic acid combined with topical application of cocktail containing tranexamic acid in total knee arthroplasty
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2020;25(9):1356-1361
BACKGROUND: The perioperative blood loss of total knee arthroplasty is large. The “cocktail” containing tranexamic acid has the dual function of hemostasis and analgesia. However, how to further reduce blood loss with intravenous tranexamic acid is still worth exploring. OBJECTIVE: To compare the hemostatic effect and safety of tranexamic acid combined with different intravenous applications of tranexamic acid in total knee arthroplasty under the premise of using “cocktail” containing tranexamic acid. METHODS: Data of 62 patients with osteoarthritis, who underwent primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty in the First Department of Orthopedics of Zhongshan People’s Hospital from June 2017 to September 2019, were retrospectively analyzed and divided into three groups. In the Group A, 26 patients administrated “cocktail” containing tranexamic acid before closing the wound. In the Group B, 25 patients administrated intravenously 1.0 g tranexamic acid before cutting skin on the basis of group A. In the Group C, 11 patients administrated intravenously 1.0 g tranexamic acid on the basis of group B 3 hours postoperatively. Dominant, hidden, and total blood loss, postoperative hemoglobin biggest loss, blood transfusion rate, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative complications were compared and analyzed among three groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) In terms of blood loss (including total, hidden, intraoperative, postoperative and dominant) and the maximum loss of hemoglobin, both groups B and C were lower than group A, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05); there were no significant differences between group B and group C (P > 0.05). (2) There were no statistically significant differences in blood transfusion rate and postoperative hospital stay among three groups (P > 0.05). (3) There were no statistically significant differences among the three groups in the incidence of wound complications, articular effusion, and complications of intermuscular vein thrombosis (P > 0.05). No lower limb deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism was found in the three groups. (4) The results showed that intravenous administration of 1.0 g tranexamic acid before cutting skin and combination with “cocktail” containing 0.5 g tranexamic acid before closing the wound can have obvious hemostatic effect. However, intravenous administration of 1.0 g tranexamic acid 3 hours postoperatively failed to further reduce the bleeding; moreover, the first two administrations did not increase the postoperative complications, and had certain security.

Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2013;48(5):380-384
OBJECTIVE: To study the pharmacokinetics of linezolid eye drops in rabbit eyes after a single dose administration. METHODS: Forty New Zealand rabbits are topically applied 50 μL of linezolid eye drops. Ocular tears, aqueous humour, cornea and conjunctiva are sampled at different intervals after drug instillation, and the drug levels are assayed by HPLC. The pharmacokinetic parameters are calculated by DAS 2.1.1 process. RESULTS: The peak concentrations of linezolid in tears, aqueous humour, cornea and conjunctiva are (2861.15±669.43) μg · g-1, (165.71±115.04) μg · mL-1, (58.62±15.48) μLg · g-1, and (305.02±287.64) μg · g-1, respectively. The half-lives of elimination are (60.67±25.59), (36.81±37.39), (38.09±11.59), and (19.85±7.06) h and AUC0-∞ are (4211.92±806.09) μg · h · g-1, (1634.65±1174.85) μg · h · mL-1, (2834.13±578.96) μg · h · g-1, and (3883.84±1846.13) μg · h · g-1, respectively. Blank tears, aqueous humour, cornea and conjunctiva didn't interfere with the determination of linezolid. CONCLUSION: Linezolid has a good pharmacokinetic character and permeability in rabbit eyes.

We report a critically ill pregnant woman in the third trimester with severe pneumonia due to COVID-19 who presented to Xiaolan People's Hospital of Zhongshan in February 2020. The 32-year-old patient was admitted at 35 +2 gestational weeks with a 4-day history of a sore throat and a fever for three hours. The patient had been to Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, and the symptoms occurred during a period of self-isolation after back home. The condition of the patient deteriorated rapidly, with left-sided chest and back pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, progressing to respiratory failure and septic shock 7 hours after her admission. In view of her critical condition and a history of two previous cesarean sections, an emergency cesarean section was performed. Blood gas analysis of the mother before the operation suggested respiratory failure, respiratory acidosis, and metabolic acidosis. During the operation, a baby boy was born. The Apgar score of the boy, birth weight of 2 700 g, was one at 1, 5 and 10 minutes despite the resuscitation efforts. The neonate died after withdrawing treatment. The patient was treated with tracheal intubation ventilator and other supportive treatments after the operation. The result of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test, taken on admission, but which was reported after delivery, was positive. The patient was transferred to the designated hospital for further treatment and was recovering with the withdrawal of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and ventilation support at 26 and 36 days after surgery, respectively.
