Fifty-six cases of chronic low back pain were randomly divided into electroacupuncture group (n= 30) and control group (n= 26). Patients in electro-acupuncture group were treated with electro-acupuncture plus physical therapy, and patients in control group were treated with single physical therapy. The results showed that Electro-acupuncture plus physical therapy could obviously relieve pain, improve the patients' life quality, and its therapeutic effect was superior to that of the single physical therapy.

Twenty cases of ankle sprain were treated on the outside with Tuina combined with physical therapy. After 10 treatments, 19 cases restored normal ankle function, and 1 case got no obvious effect.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of vertigo treated by pinching the spine. Methods: In the treatment group, 80 cases of vertigo were treated by pinching the spine and An-pressing and Rou-stationary circular pressing. In the control group, 66 cases were treated by An-pressing and Rou-stationary circular pressing. Results: The total effective rate was 95.0% in the treatment group, and 66.7% in control group. The therapeutic effect in treatment group was better than that in control group (P＜0.01). Conclusions: Pinching the spine to treat the vertigo could get rapid and good therapeutic effect, and may avoid the toxic and side effect of drug treatment.

The author selected the acupoints Fengfu (GV 16), Fengchi (GB 20), Hegu (LI 4),Jianjing (GB 21), and adopted manual techniques such as Yizhichan-Thumb waving pressing,An-pressing, Rou-stationary circular pressing, Nie-pinching, Nian-finger twisting, Na-holding,Yao-rotation and Cuo-palm twisting to warm and dredge meridians and collaterals, promote the circulation of qi and blood, and lubricate the joints, to treat 150 cases of infantile brachial plexus injury. The total effective rate was 99.3%.

Thirty cases of peripheral facial palsy were treated with the comprehensive therapy, and 30 cases of peripheral facial palsy were treated with shallow electro-acupuncture as control. The results showed that the cure rate in treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜ 0.05), and no significant difference was found in effective rate between two groups.

Objective: To compare the therapeutic effect of point penetration method of long needle and that of western drug in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods: The simple and randomized grouping method was used in present study. Results: The effective rate in the acupuncture group was 87.5%, and in the western drug group was 55.6%, the significant difference was found between two groups in the therapeutic effect (P＜0.01). Conclusions: The therapeutic effect of point through point with long needle in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis was better than that of western drug.

According to the method of puncturing the twelve Jing (well) acupoints to treat hemiplegia followYinbai (SP 1), Dadun (LR 1), Shangyang (LI 1) and Guanchong (TE 1), combining with selected acupoints according to the presenting syndromes, to treat 114 cases of hemiplegia following a stroke, the total effective rate was 91.1%.

Purpose: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus Chinese herbs in treatment of poststroke depression. Methods: Forty-two cases of poststroke depression were treated by acupuncture plus Chinese herbs, and 30 cases of poststroke depression were treated by Western drug as control. Results: After 6 weeks of treatment, the scores of Hamilton Depressive Scale in two groups were all reduced statistically and remarkably when compared with before treatment; when the acupuncture plus Chinese herbs group were compared with Western drugs group, no significant difference was found in total effective rate. Conclusion: Acupuncture plus Chinese herbs had marked therapeutic effect in the treatment of poststroke depression, and had the advantages of safety and no side effect.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture in the treatment of chloasma.Methods: Ninety patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 45 cases in each group, then patients in the treatment group were classified into three types according to the syndrome differentiation and were treated with acupuncture, while patients in control group were treated with Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Results: The effective rates in treatment group and control group were 93.3% and 73.3% respectively, and no remarkable difference was found in therapeutic effect among three syndrome-types in treatment group (P＞0.05). Conclusions: Acupuncture therapy has a marked therapeutic effect in the treatment of chloasma of different syndrome types.

Fifty-four cases of woman with lactation insufficiency were treated with acupuncture at acupoints Shaoze (SI 1), Danzhong (CV 17), Rugen (ST 18), Pishu (BL 20), Zusanli (ST 36) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6), and 42 cases got significant effect that the milk could fully meet baby's nutritional requirement, 9 cases got improvement, 3 cases discontinued the treatment.
