Based on ancient literature of acupuncture in Canon of Chinese Medicine (4th edition), the articles regarding acupuncture for urinary incontinence were retrieved and collected to establish a database. By Weka data mining software, the multi-level association rules analysis method was applied to analyze the acupoints selection characteristics and rules of ancient acupuncture for treatment of urinary incontinence. Totally 356 articles of acupuncture for urinary incontinence were collected, involving 41 acupoints with a total frequency of 364. As a result, (1) the acupoints in the yin-meridian of hand and foot were highly valued, as the frequency of acupoints in yin-meridians was 2.6 times than that in yang-meridians, and the frequency of acupoints selected was the most in the liver meridian of foot-jueyin; (2) the acupoints in bladder meridian of foot-taiyang were also highly valued, and among three yang-meridians of foot, the frequency of acupoints in the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang was 54, accounting for 65.85% (54/82); (3) more acupoints selected were located in the lower limbs and abdomen; (4) specific acupoints in above meridians were mostly selected, presenting 73.2% (30/41) to the ratio of number and 79.4% (289/364) to the frequency, respectively; (5) Zhongji (CV 3), the front-mu point of bladder meridian, was seldom selected in the ancient acupuncture literature, which was different from modern literature reports. The results show that urinary incontinence belongs to external genitalia diseases, which should be treated from yin, indicating more yin-meridians be used and special acupoints be focused on. It is essential to focus inheritance and innovation in TCM clinical treatment, and applying data mining technology to ancient literature of acupuncture could provide classic theory basis for TCM clinical treatment.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Chuanhuang No.1 Recipe (CHR) on renal function and micro-inflammation in phase 3 chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients.
METHODSTotally 60 phase 3 CKD patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (treated by CHR) and the control group (treated by Losartan Potassium), 30 in each group. All patients received basic treatment. Patients in the treatment group took CHR decoction, 400 mL each time, one dose per day, while those in the control group took Losartan Potassium, 50-100 mg per day. All medication lasted for 24 weeks. Changes of serum creatinine (SCr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), serum uric acid (UA), 24 h urinary protein excretion (24 h U-pro), urinary microalbumin (U-Alb), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), serum tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, and serum IL-6 were detected and compared before and after treatment. Efficacy was also compared.
RESULTSCompared with before treatment, SCr and BUN significantly decreased in the treatment group (P<0.05, P<0.01); eGFR in- creased (P<0.05). Only UA obviously decreased in the control group (P<0.05), but with no obvious change in SCr, BUN, or eGFR. Compared with before treatment, 24 h U-pro decreased after treatment in the treatment group (P<0.05), but with less decreased level when compared with the control group. U- Alb was also significantly decreased in the control group (P<0.01). There was statistical difference in 24 h U-pro and U-Alb between the two groups after treatment (P<0.05). Compared with before treatment, hs-CRP obviously decreased after treatment in the two groups, but serum levels of TNF-alpha and IL-6 obviously decreased only in the treatment group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was obviously higher in the treatment group than in the control group (70.00% vs. 43.33%, P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONCHR could efficiently improve the renal function of phase 3 CKD patients and alleviate the micro-inflammation.

Aim To identify the potential biomarkers associated with carbon tetrachloride(CCl 4 )-induced a-cute hepatic injury in rats and explore the therapeutic effect of Hugan Tablets(HGT). Methods The model was established by intraperitoneal injection of CCl4 in oil(1 : 1,V/ V)with a dosage of 1 mL·kg - 1 body weight to rats once. The levels of aspartate aminotrans-ferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),alka-line phosphatase (ALP ) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)in serum of rats were determined. Moreover,a proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1 H-NMR)based metabonomic approach in combination with multivariate data analysis was applied to demonstrate CCl4-induced acute hepatic injury metabolic perturbations in rat urine and feces and identify the corresponding metabolic bio-markers. The intervention effect of HGT was evaluated based on the changes of metabolic phenotype and po-tential biomarkers related to acute hepatic injury. Re-sults The levels of AST,ALT,ALP and LDH in ser-um of rats with acute hepatic injury were significantly reduced by administration of HGT,respectively. The disturbed metabolic state associated with CCl4-induced acute hepatic injury in rat urine and feces could be re-stored by HGT. Meanwhile, five potential biomarkers (2-oxoglutarate,citrate,creatinine,trimethylamine N-oxide,hippurate)in rat urine and three potential bio-markers(butyrate,glucose,uracil)in rat feces related to acute hepatic injury were reversed by administration of HGT,respectively. Conclusion HGT exerts pro-tective effects against CCl4-induced acute hepatic inju-ry in rats, which is probably mediated by regulation of tricarboxylic acid cycle and gut microbiota metabolism.
