Objective To evaluate the application of blue on yellow(B/Y) perimetry in detecting the early visual field loss of glaucoma. [WT5”HZ]Methods [WT5”BZ]The B/Y perimetry of the G2 strategy in the OCTOPUS 101 perimetry was used to examine the visual field of 16 normal persons (32 eyes), 25 cases (35 eyes) of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) with abnormal white on white (W/W) visual fields, 15 cases (15 eyes) of early POAG with normal W/W visual field, and 11 cases (22 eyes) of suspected POAG. [WT5”HZ]Results [WT5”BZ]The mean sensitivity (MS) in the normal cases, suspected POAG, early POAG, middle POAG, and late POAG was (23.24?1.22) dB,(20.97?3.42) dB,(18.44?3.57) dB,(11.04?1.85) dB and (8.55?2.29) dB, respectively. It was demonstrated that B/Y perimetry was more sensitive than W/W perimetry in detecting the glaucomatous visual field defects,and its sensitivity was 92% and specificity was 90.62%. The average number of defective points in central visual field with B/Y perimetry was more than that with W/W perimetry in early and middle POAG. Conclusion B/Y perimetry is a relatively sensitive method for detection of the early visual field loss in POAG.

20 % . In both groups CH was induced with infusion of 0.01 % NTP at a rate 0.5-6.0 ?g?kg-1?min-1 to maintain MAP at 55-65 mm Hg. MAP, HR, CVP and CO were continuously monitored. Arterial lactate concentration was measured by enzyme assay. Arterial and mixed venous blood gases were analyzed, and oxygen delivery (DO2 ) and consumption (VO2) were calculated before AHH (T0) after AHH was performed (T1), 30 min after CH was induced (T2) and 30 min after termination of CH (T3) in group Ⅰ and in group Ⅱ before CH (T1), 30 min after induction of CH (T2) and 30 rain after termination of CH (T3 ) .ResultsIn group Ⅰ(AHH + CH) compared with the baseline values (T0 ) HR significantly decreased while CVP significantly increased after AHH (T1 ) ; cardiac output (CO) significantly increased after AHH (T1 ) and during CH (T2) while DO2 was significantly decreased after AHH (T1) and CH (T3 ) but arterial lactate concentration was significantly decreased during and after CH (T2, T3). In group Ⅱ (CH alone) compared with the baseline values (T1) HR significantly increased while CVP significantly decreased during and after CH (T2, T3 ) ; there was no significant change in CO and DO2 at T2 and T3 but arterial lactate concentration significantly increased during and after CH (T2, T3). There was significantly less blood loss during operation in group I than in group Ⅱ . ConclusionThere was tissue deoxygenation during and after deliberate hypotension as shown by increased arterial lactate concentration while AHH combined with CH can improve tissue perfusion and oxygenation. AHH can also maintain hemodynamic stability during CH.

Chlamydial infection in human urogenital tract induces inflammation and causes tissue damage and scarring. It is thought that cytokine production by the Chlamydia-infected cells plays a key role in chlamydial disease processes. Although many cytokines have been detected during chlamydial infection, little is known about the molecular mechanisms on how Chlamydia triggers and sustains the inflammatory cytokine cascades. In the current study, chlamydial infection of the human cervical epithelial cell line HeLa cells can induce the production of IL-8, IL-1α, IL-1β and IL-6. Using inhibitors for probing intracellular kinase signaling pathways required for the Chlamydia-induced cytokines, it was found that the Chlamydia-activated MAPK / P38 pathway is required for the chlamydial induction of IL-1α and IL-6 while both the Chlamydia-activated MAPK/ERK and MAPK/P38 pathways contribute to the production of IL-8.

OBJECTIVETo explore clinical efficacy of double Endobutto reconstituting coracoclavicular ligament combined with repairing acromioclavicular ligament in stage I in treating acromioclavicular dislocation with Rockwood type III - V .

METHODSFrom January 2010 to September 2013, 56 patients with Rockwood type III - V acromioclavicular dislocation were treated by operation, including 20 males and 36 femlaes, aged from 32 to 52 years old with an average of 38.5 years old. Twenty-five patients were on the left side and 31 cases on the right side. The time from injury to operation was from 3 to 14 days, averaged 7 days. All patients were diagnosed as acromioclavicular dislocation with Rockwood type III - V, and double Endobutto were used to reconstituting coracoclavicular ligament, line metal anchors were applied for repairing acromioclavicular ligament. Postoperative complications were observed, Karlsson and Constant-Murley evaluation standard were used to evaluate clinical effects.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 8 to 24 months with average of 11 months. According to Karlsson evaluation standard at 6 months after operation,42 cases were grade A, 13 were grade B and 1 was grade C. Constant-Murley score were improved from (42.80±5.43) before operation to (91.75±4.27) at 6 months after operation. All items at 6 months after operation were better than that of preoperative items. Forty-eight patients got excellent results, 7 were moderate and only 1 with bad result. No shoulder joint adhesion, screw loosening or breakage were occurred during following up.

CONCLUSIONDouble Endobutto reconstituting coracoclavicular ligament combined with repairing acromioclavicular ligament in stage I for the treatment of acromioclavicular dislocation with Rockwood type III - V could obtain early staisfied clinical effects, and benefit for early recovery of shoulder joint function.

Objective To evaluate the effects of a health education project on endemic fluorosis in Shandong Province,and to provide a basis for formulating control strategies.Methods From December 2010 to June 2011,according to historical conditions,a total of 19 counties (cities,districts) of Shandong Province were chosen,and 3 townships (towns) were chosen in each project county.Health educational activities on endemic fluorosis were carried out in the Central Primary School in grade 4 to 6 in each township(town).In each project township(town),3 villages were chosen in each selected township(town) where the health educational activities in the community were carried out.Before and after the health educational activities,surveys on knowledge questionnaire on drinking-water-borne fluorosis control were conducted among 30 students of grade 5 in the Central Primary School and 15 housewives in every school location in each selected township(town).Results After the health educational activities,the knowledge awareness rates of endemic fluorosis control of the students and housewives were 96.53％ (5482/5679) and 94.88％ (3501/3690),respectively,and increased significantly compared with those before intervention [62.31％ (5154/8271) and 76.91％ (2815/3660)],and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =2176.50,490.58,all P ＜ 0.01).Among the primary school students and housewives,the knowledge awareness rates of endemic fluorosis control were increased by 34.22％ and 17.97％,respectively.Conclusions Health education activities on endemic fluorosis can significantly improve the knowledge awareness of target population,which will play a positive role in promoting prevention and control of endemic fluorosis.

OBJECTIVETo study on the reliability of the Akagi line as a reference axis to guide for rotational alignment of the proximal tibial component in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) the rotational alignment reference bony landmarks of the proximal tibial component on magnetic resonance image (MRI) were measured.

METHODSFrom January 2010 to December 2013, 80 normal knees of Chinese volunteers including 35 males and 45 females with an average age of (35.4±6.1) years were reviewed. The images of the knees were obtained by MRI. The surgical epicondylar axis (STEA) was identified in the femoral transverse sections and then was projected to the side of tibia, forming the SETA'. A line connecting the medial border of the patellar tendon and the middle of the posterior cruciate ligament insertion (Akagi line) and its vertical line (AK), as well as a line connecting the medial 1/3 of the patellar tendon and the middle of the posterior cruciate ligament insertion and its vertical line (AP), were identified in the tibial transverse sections. The angles were measured between the AK, AP and STEA'.

RESULTSThe angle between AK and STEA' was (0.59±2.07)°, and there was no significant difference between the two lines (t=-2.54, P=0.13). The mean angle between AP and STEA' was (3.21±2.04)°, and there was a significant difference between the two lines (t=14.05, P<0.05). There was a significant difference between the AK and AP (t=-11.68, P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe reliability of the Akagi line as a reference axis to guide for rotational alignment of the proximal tibial component in TKA is good.

OBJECTIVETo establish an effective model for evaluating the spatial memory of rats.

METHODSThe adjacent left or right arm in Y-maze was defined as an initial arm or an objective one alternatively, and electro-stimulus to vola was used as a reinforcement. Meanwhile, the reliability of the model was validated by measuring the memory deficits induced by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of scopolamine (0.5 mg/kg) or bilaterally intrahippocampal (i.h.) microinjection of MK-801(0.2 microg/site).

RESULTSThe normal, sham-operated or saline-treated rats learned the left-right alternative memory model rapidly while injection of either scopolamine or MK-801 caused spatial memory deficits in Y-maze, including deficits in working and reference memory. Moreover,there was no appreciable difference in electricity intensity between the treated group and the control group.

CONCLUSIONThe alternative Y-maze with electro-stimulus is a comparatively objective model which can evaluate the spatial memory in rats effectively.T

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect and safety of circumcision stapler in the treatment of phimosis and redundant prepuce.

METHODSWe treated 120 patients with redundant prepuce or phimosis using circumcision stapler and another 60 by conventional dorsal-incision circumcision. We observed intraoperative blood loss, operation time, postoperative pain, wound healing time, cosmetic appearance of the penis, and postoperative complications and compared them between the two groups of patients.

RESULTSStapler circumcision showed obvious advantages over the conventional method in intraoperative blood loss ([2. 3 ± 1. 3] vs [15.6 ± 2.9] ml), operation time ([7.1 ± 1.4] vs [22.6 ± 4.6] min), wound healing time ([12.0 ± 2.9] as [16.3 ± 3. 1] d), postoperative pain score (1. 9 ± 1. 3 vs 5. 2 ± 1. 7), incision edema, and cosmetic appearance of the penis (all P <0. 05). Besides, stapler circumcision exempted the patients from stitch-removal pain. However, the incidence rate of postoperative local ecchymosis was significantly higher in the circumcision stapler group than in the conventional circumcision group (20. 8% vs 8. 3% , P <0. 05).

CONCLUSIONCircumcision stapler, with its advantages of easier manipulation, shorter operation time, better cosmetic penile appearance, less pain, and fewer complications, is superior to conventional circumcision in the treatment of phimosis and redundant prepuce.
