1.Study on the role of local immunity in the female genital tract with nongonococcal urethritis

Objective To study the role of local immunity in the female genital tract with non- gonococcal urethritis(NGU).Methods Forty-four cervical secretions from patients with NGU were collected.After treatment with Azithromycin,22 cases were followed up.One month later,pathogen was eliminated in 15 patients.Another 27 un-infected people were included in our study.The level of secretory immunoglobulin A(SIgA)was detected using the automatic special protein analysor,and interferon-?(IFN-?)was quantified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).All data were analyzed with ANOVA.Results The levels of SIgA and IFN-?in NGU infected group were(34.29?15.92)mg/L and(97.13?24.00)ng/L respectively,while those of uninfected group were(47.57?19.61)mg/L and(120.71?33.78)ng/L,respectively(all P0.05).Conclusions SIgA and IFN-?secreted by genital tract mucosa may help pre- vent and resist the local NGU infection.However,the effect is limited,and is insufficient to eliminate infection completely and prevent reinfection.

4.Therapeutic Observation of Acupuncture for Gastrointestinal Dysfunction in Severe Pneumonia

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating severe pneumonia complicated with gastrointestinal dysfunction (GIDF).Method Sixty patients with severe pneumonia complicated with GIDF were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 cases in each group. The two groups were both given conventional Western medications. In addition, the treatment group was intervened by acupuncture, and the control group by oral administration of Mosapride citrate capsules and enteral nutrition via nasogastric tube. After 7-day treatment, the changes of GIDF score, intraabdominal pressure, bowel sound and gastric retention were observed in the two groups, and the clinical efficacies were compared.Result The total effective rate was 93.1% in the treatment group versus 78.6% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of GIDF and the indexes (intraabdominal pressure, bowel sound, and gastric retention) were significantly changed after the treatment in both groups (P<0.05). The scores of GIDF and the indexes in the treatment group were significantly different from those in the control group after the intervention (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function in severe pneumonia patients, since it can significantly improve the intraabdominal pressure, bowel sound and gastric retention.

6.Effects of tianeptine on changes of MAP2 expression level in hippocampal CA3 pyramidal cell of rats in chronic stress

Aim To investigate changes of MAP2 expression level in rat hippocampal pyramidal cells induced by chronic stress, and to explore effects of tianeptine on them. Methods 25 rats were divided randomly into three groups:Control group,Stress group and Stree-tianeptine group. The forced-swimming was performed to rats in stress group and stress-tianeptine. Using the immunohistochemistry and the computerized image technique, expression levels of phosphorated MAP2 and the number the Positive cells were assayed quantitatively in each group. Results Compared with control group (149.34?1.81), the phosphorated MAP2 average gray degree in pyramidal cells of stress group (144.99?4.40) was significantly lower, that of the stress-tianeptine group (148.84?2.73) was significantly higher than that of stress group; The number of phosphorated MAP2 positive cells in stress group (40.36?1.35) was significantly less compared withthat of control group (42.73?1.56); that of stress-tianeptine group (42.14?1.62) was significantly more than that of stress group. Conclusion It is suggested that tianeptine could inhibit the enhancement of phosphorated MAP2 expression in hippocampal pyramidal cells induced by chronic stress.
7.Diagnosis and treatment for focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver:report of 34 cases

Objective To investigate the clinical features,therapeutic approach and prognosis of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) of the liver. Methods Clinical data of 34 FNH patients confirmed by operation were analyzed retrospectively. Results Focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver was found mainly in males (67. 6% ) , Mean nodular size was significantly smaller in men than women. Most of the patients (64.7%) had no significant clinical symptoms. Tumor markers including CA19-9 and A-fetoprotein were within normal range. MRI is helpful to achieve a more accurate diagnosis of the disease, correct preoperative diagnosis rate was 54. 5%. All patients underwent liver resection with no recurrence within 17 - 134 months of follow up. Conclusions FHN of the liver is benign in entity. If a definite diagnosis can be obtained preoperatively, observation follow-up are recommended. Hepatectomy is indicated when there is a suspicion of malignancy.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of tumor necorisis factor related apoptosis induled ligand receptor(TRAILR) in human craniopharyngioma.Methods The expression of TRAILR was determined by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization in 24 samples of craniopharyngioma and 16 samples of normal brain tissue.Results With low decoy receptor(DcR) expression in partial craniopharyngioma cells and low death receptor(DR) expression in partial normal brain cells,DR was expressed highly in all craniopharyngioma samples while DcR in most normal brain tissue. 9.Role of hemin-induced heme oxygenuse-1 expression in rat central nervous system after brain trauma

Objective To explore the role of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in the central nervous system after brain trauma. Methods Forty-eight adult SD rats were randomized into brain trauma+hemin group, brain trauma+normal saline group and sham-operated group, and in the former two groups, the rats were subjected to fluid percussion injury of the brain followed by intraperitoneal injections of 45 mg/100 mg hemin or saline accordingly. The rats in the sham-operated group received incision of the scalp and drilling on the skull only. The behavioral changes of the rats after the treatments were evaluated by testing the latency of head turning on a ramp. The permeability of the blood brain barrier (BBB) was assessed by measuring the brain tissue content of Evans blue injected into the tail vein, and the expression of HO-1 in the brain tissue was detected using immunohistochemistry with SP method. Results HO-1 expression in the brain tissue of heroin-treated rats (125.52±14.39) was significantly increased as compared with that of normal saline-treated rats (100.63±12.32) and sham-operated rats (79.37±12.89) (P<0.05). The latency of head turning on the ramp was significantly shorter in hemin-treated group (7.38±1.69 s) than in normal saline group (10.01±1.61 s,P<0.05). The permeability of the BBB was markedly decreased in heroin group. Conclusion HO-1 expression in the brain tissue may provide protection of central nervous system after brain trauma.
