Objective To explore the clinical characteristics, therapy and prognosis of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL).Methods Forty-three PCNSL patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results The most frequent PCNSL clinical presentations were an increased intracranial pressure, focal neurologic deficits. The median survival time of patients was 18.0 months (14.2—21.8 months,95% CI).Cox regression model analysis revealed that ependymal and leptomeningeal involvement was the only independent factor for overall survival (P=0.002).Conclusions PCNSL is a aggressive disease with a poor prognosis and difficult to diagnose before operation. The optimal treatment modality for newly diagnosed PCNSL is still under investigation.

Objective To explore the relation between the expression of PBMCs IP-10 mRNA and systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods The expression of PBMCs IP-10 mRNA was investigated by RT-PCR semi quantitative method and samples from 46 patients with SLE,20 patients with RA,11 non-SLE patients with renal impairment and 20 healthy volunteers. Results The expression of PBMCs IP-10 mRNA in active SLE group was significantly higher than that in inactive group(P0.05).Serum levels of IP-10 were highly correlated with the expression levels of PBMCs IP-10 mRNA(r=0.897 1,P

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Ornidazol on acute pericoronitis of wisdom tooth (PWT).Methods125 patients with PWT were randomly divided into the experiment group (63 cases, treated with Ornidazol) and control group (62 cases, treated with Metronidazole). The curative effect was observed when teeth extracted.ResultsThe effective rate of the experiment group was 95.2%, that of control group was 82.2%. There was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05).ConclusionOrnidazol has an obvious effect on acute PWT.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of amitrine bismesylate in patients with mild vascular dementia. Methods An open multicenter self-controlled trial was carried out with 128 mild vascular dementia patients clinically diagnosed.Patients were treated with amitrine bismesylate in a dose of 2 tablets per day for 12 weeks. The neuro-psychologieal scale of MMSE,ADAS-cog,CDR, ADL were used to evaluate patients′cognitive condition before therapy and 6,12 weeks after treatment. The adverse effects, such as nausea and vertigo and so on,were monitored at the same time to evaluate the safety of this drug. Results After 3 months of treatment, the MMSE score(16.98 before therapy and 17.97 after treatment,P

This study is to establish an UPLC fingerprint of Resina Draconis from different manufacturers, which can provide a comprehensive evaluation for its quality control. The analysis was performed on a Phenomenex Kinetex 2.6 μ C18 100A column by agradientelution program with acetonitrile-water as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.7 mL x min(-1). The column temperature was 40 degrees C and the detection wavelengthwas 280 nm. The fingerprints of 18 batches of Draconis Resina were further evaluated by chemometrics methods including similarity analysis (SA), hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and principal component analysis (PCA). As a result, there were 15 common peaks, 13 of which had been identified by LC-Q-TOF MS, and the similarity degrees of 15 batches of the samples was more than 0.9, and the samples were divided into 4 clusters by their quality difference. The method is reproducible, simple and reliablethat it can be used for quality control and evaluation of Resina Draconis from different manufacturers.

Based on the transcriptome database of Salvia miltiorrhiza, specific primers were designed to clone a full-length cDNA of ent-kaurene oxidase synthase (SmKOL) using the RACE strategy. ORF Finder was used to find the open reading frame of SmKOL cDNA, and ClustalW has been performed to analysis the multiple amino acid sequence alignment. Phylogenetic tree has been constructed using MEGA 5.1. The transcription level of SmKOL from the hairy roots induced by elicitor methyl jasmonate (MeJA) was qualifiedby real-time quantitative PCR. The full length of SmKOL cDNA was of 1 884 bp nucleotides encoding 519 amino acids. The molecular weight of the SmKOL protein was about 58.88 kDa with isoelectric point (pI) of 7.62. Results of real-time quantitative PCR analyses indicated that the level of SmKOL mRNA expression in hairy roots was increased by elicitor oMeJA, and reached maximum in 36 h. The full-length cDNA of SmKOL was cloned from S. miltiorrhiza hairy root, which provides a target gene for further studies of its function, gibberellin biosynthesis and regulation of secondary metabolites.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2005;23(4):332-334
OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to explore the possible principles for remodeling of periodontal tissues under mechanical stretching by investigating the effects of intermittent mechanical stretching delivered by a new invented type of cell stress machine on the proliferation kinetics of the human periodontal fibroblast cells (hPDLFs) in vitro.
METHODShPDLFs were cultured in vitro. The 4 - 7th generation of hPDLFs were undergone mechanical stretching. All cells were grouped as strained and unstrained (controls). Strained groups cells were gathered after 2, 4 and 6 hours with the stress 1 000, 2 000 and 3 000 mustrain. Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to examine the ratio of DNA (S%) and the index of proliferation(PI).
RESULTSMechanical force would lead to the change of hPDLFs proliferation. Within the experiment, both 1 000 mustrain and 2 000 mustrain could increase the proliferation index (PI) (P < 0.05). While under 3 000 mustrain, DNA synthesis was significantly decreased( P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSome range of mechanical stretching accelerates hPDLFs proliferation. This research discusses the remodeling process of periodontal tissues undergoing the mechanical stretching on cytological view, and it makes a basement for further revealing the mechanical strain induced periodontal biological principles. Also it provides a useful direction for clinical orthodontic therapy.
