Objective By analyzing the effect of adopting the responsibility system for entrusted asset management targets in some public hospitals the paper aims to explore the feasibility of doing so as to provide lessons for the reform of public hospitals in China. Methods Interviews of focus groups and surveys through questionnaires were conducted to find out about reform in the management of public hospitals in Wuxi City of Jiangsu Province, including successes and problems. Results Some problems remain to be solved while effects have been achieved in the entrusted management of public hospitals. Conclusion Reform of hospitals through entrusted management is currently a way of deepening the reform of public hospitals. Some preliminary conditions are already in place for reform in the system of public hospitals, yet support is stili needed in terms of sound policy and environment. In future reform should go a step further in personnel and distribution systems, supervised asset management, and the estabh'shment and perfection of the Corporation management structure. More efforts need to be made by the state in encouraging explorations and strengthening guidance.

Schwann cells (SCs) have potently neuroprotective and myelinization abilities. They are one of the earliest and the most frequently used cells that are applied to therapeutic studies in spinal cord injury. At present, SCs are usually used as a platform for therapeutic alliance to integrate various interventions. This review will mainly discuss the issues met in therapeutic alliances with SCs for spinal cord injuries, results of various therapeutic alliances with SCs, positive effects of co-transplantation with SCs on neural stem cells, survival, migration of SCs after transplantation and roles of endogenetic SCs in repairing spinal cord injury.

Objective To evaluate the clinical manifestations, pathological features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of extranodal Rosai Dorfman disease(RDD) in paranasal sinuses. Methods The clinical manifestations, pathological findings, and imaging data of a rare case of extranodal RDD in the paranasal sinuses, who had received repeated surgical interventions, were analyzed. Results The lesion was situated in the paranasal sinuses, It had been repeatedly removed and misdiagnosed. Physical examination showed a red spherical mass in the nasal cavity. CT scan of the sinuses revealed a 5cm 5 cm soft tissue opacification of the right nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. There was also erosion of the lateral wall of the maxillary sinus, the medial wall of orbit, parts of pterygopalatine fossa, and infratemporal fossa. Through the previous incision, all visible tumours in the lateral nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pterygopalatine fossa and orbital base were again removed. The tumour was attached to the orbital periosteum. The orbit was not removed, but the tumour was stripped off as completely as possible. Microscopic examination revealed intermingling spindled shaped and polygonal histiocytes, admixing with few plasma cells. The infiltrating histiocytes had large round or oval nuclei. The cytoplasm was abundant, granular or vacuolated and foamy. Immunohistochemical studies showed that the histiocytes were strongly reactive with antibodies against S100 protein and Vimetin. Conclusion The diagnosis of extranodal RDD in the paranasal sinuses should be differentiated with rhinoscleroma, eosinophilic granuloma, plasmacytoma, or fibrous histiocytoma. The identification of the distinctive histocytes which are typically immunoreactive to S 100 and CD68 can be quite helpful for correct diagnosis. Surgical excision supplemented by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, may be the optimal treatment, and long term follow up is essential.

Allergic reactions caused by traditional Chinese medicine injections (TCMIs) become a greatest concern in the clinic application safety. The integral animal evaluation method commonly used in the preclinical evaluation for allergic reactions of TCMIs was not sensitive, specific, quick and objective in observation indexes. Therefore, more researchers have paid attention to the in vitro test method for evaluating allergic reactions induced by TCMIs. Currently, the methods for evaluating allergic reactions induced by TCMIs are mainly targeted at type I allergic reaction and anaphylactic reaction, with only a few in vitro methods for evaluating type II allergic reaction. In this paper, researchers summarized relevant literatures published about evaluation methods for allergic reactions induced by TCMIs in recent years.

The animal models of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury have been established inmany animals, such as monkeys, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, and pigs. These models have provideda great deal of important information for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. Howerver, thedifferent species vary in their susceptibility to the various types of ischemic insults. This articlereviews the animal models of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury in different species.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of peripheral blood intermediate monocytes in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.MethodsFifty-two patients with established preeclampsia in Binhai County People's Hospital from October 2014 to October 2015, 42 healthy pregnant women and 42 healthy non-pregnant women were enrolled in this study. The percentage of intermediate monocyte subsets, ratio of positive cells and mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2, TLR4, CD64, and triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell-1(TREM-1), and MFI of intracellular tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-6 were evaluated by flow cytometry. The concentrations of IL-6, IL-8, IL-1β, IL-12P70 and TNF-α in serum were analyzed using Luminex liquid phase chip technology. Independent two samplest-test, analysis of variance, Mann-WhitneyU test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Pearson correlation analysis were used for statistical analysis.ResultsPercentage of intermediate monocytes was higher in preeclampsia patients [10.4%(5.3%-19.9%)]than in healthy pregnant women [6.6%(4.9%-7.8%)], and both were higher than in non-pregnant women [3.8%(2.4%-5.0)%](allP<0.05). The ratio of TLR4 and CD64 positive intermediate monocytes [(60.1±12.5)%vs (24.9±8.8)%; (85.3±5.4)% vs (67.4±7.5)%](t were 15.416 and 13.437, bothP<0.05), and MFI of TLR4 (50.3±10.2 vs 26.8±8.6), TREM-1(35.6±4.1 vs 28.6±4.7) and CD64 (39.8±5.2 vs 28.9±4.8) (t were 11.898, 7.707 and 10.454, allP<0.05) were higher in preeclampsia patients than in healthy pregnant women. MFI of intracellular IL-6 (32.3±4.7 vs 28.6±3.5) and TNF-α (44.6±6.3 vs 36.7±8.3) in intermediate monocytes of preeclampsia patients was also significantly higher than that of healthy pregnant women (t were 4.239 and 5.245, bothP<0.05). Serum concentrations of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α were higher in preeclamptic patients than in healthy pregnant women and non-pregnant women (allP<0.05). Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between the percentage of intermediate monocytes and the serum levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in preeclamptic patients (r were 0.397 and 0.347, bothP<0.05).ConclusionsMonocyte subpopulations from preeclamptic patients are abnormally skewed toward intermediate monocytes which have high expressions of TLR4, TREM-1 and CD64, and secret more proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α. Therefore, intermediate monocytes are specifically altered in preeclamptic patients and may play a role in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia.
