Objective:To study Survivin expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) and the effects of pingyangmycin treatment on Survivin expression. Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common complication of gastrointestinal diseases and gastrointestinal surgery, which may lead to hemorrhagic shock or cause death if not treated properly and promptly.Currently, endoscopic treatment for gastrointestinal bleeding includes clip closure, endoscopical injection of saline/adrenaline, argon plasma coagulation (APC), electrocoagulation and heater probe coagulation etc..Endoscopic clip closure mainly includes traditional closure through-the-scope clip (TTSC) and more novel closure over-the-scope clip (OTSC).This article reviewed the use of OTSC in the treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Objective To investigate the related factors affecting prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer undergoing palliative resection.Methods The clinical data of 345 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent palliative resection at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January 2007 and December 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients selected the emergent operations or restrictive operation based on the conditions of patients,and then received chemotherapy,radiotherapy and biotherapy.Chemotherapy regimens included FOLFOX4 (5-FU/CF + oxaliplatin) regimen,XELOX (capecitabine + oxaliplatin) regimen and FOLFIRI (5-FU + CF + irinotecan) regimen.Biotherapy regimens included molecular targeted therapies using bevacizumab and cetuximab.The follow-up was applied to patients by outpatient examination,telephone interview and correspondence once every 3 months up to March 1,2014.The survival curve was drawn by the Kaplan-Meier method.The survival rate was analyzed using the Log rank test.The multivariate analysis was done using the COX regression model.Results Of the 1 930 patients,345 patients received palliative resection with a percentage rate of 17.876％.Among the 345 patients,104 patients received emergent operations and others received restrictive operations.After operation,178 patients received adjuvant treatment,FOLFOX4 regimens were done on 85 patients,XELOX regimens on 32 patients,FOLFIRI regimens on 20 patients,radiotherapy on 17 patients and molecular targeted therapies on 24 patients.Seven patients died in the perioperative period and other patients were followed up for 3.0-82.0 months with a median time of 14.0 months.The 1-,3-and 5-year survival rates and the mean survival time were 49.57％,11.88％,6.38％ and 22.6 months,respectively.The results of univariate analysis showed that the CEA levels,bowel obstruction,primary tumor resection,peritoneal implantation,distal metastasis,lymph node metastasis,tumor differentiation,postoperative adjuvant therapy were related factors affecting the prognosis of patients undergoing palliative resection (x2=3.742,18.795,37.641,13.470,4.228,5.835,4.108,6.875,P ＜0.05).The results of multivariate analysis showed that the bowel obstruction,without primary tumor resection,peritoneal implantation,low-differentiation of tumor and without postoperative adjuvant therapy were the independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients undergoing palliative resection (RR =1.674,2.273,1.947,1.582,1.342,95％ confidence interval:1.193-2.485,1.646-4.376,1.497-3.587,1.184-2.382,1.032-2.074,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The low-differentiation of tumor,peritoneal implantation,bowel obstruction,without primary tumor resection and without postoperative adjuvant therapy are the independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer undergoing palliative resection.

Objective To study effects and other related problems of surgery for patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis.Methods Twelve patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis were treated with surgery from April 1986 to April 2004.All eases were studied retrospectively.They were followed up for an average of 67.5 months and their complete clinical data were kept.The neurological function was evaluated by ASIA (American Spinal Injury Association) impairment scale,and the image analyzing software (Image-Pro Plus 5.1) was used to measure the angles of superior and inferior vertebral bodies of the fusion segment at flexion and extension positions.The difference between flexion and extension angles,?,served as the parameter of interspinal movement.According to the definition of spinal fusion by FDA (Food and Drug Administration),the?≥4?was considered as nonfusion.Other related problems were discussed by descriptive study.Results The average improvement in the nine patients with neurological injury was 1.3 ASIA grades.The injured segments in 10 cases were treated with fusion,of whom nine were fused by internal fixation.The fusion rate was 100%.Three cases were scheduled to have laminoplasty,but two had to receive laminectomy instead because of intraoperative complete fracture at the hinged side.Ten patients were complicated by insufficient function of major organs preop- eratively,and endotracheal intubation was difficult to perform in eight cases.Postoperative complications occurred in three cases,but fortunately healed completely.There were no deaths or fatal complications.Conclusions The neurological function can be improved by surgery for patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis. Although the cervical spine is instable for most of the patients,fusion with internal fixation is indicated and can be successful.Those who had preoperative systemic diseases are likely to suffer from postoperative complications.The difficult endotracheal intubation is a common intraoperative problem.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of two-points approach vascular stenting technique (via both the femoral artery and posterior tibial artery of the affected side) in repairing blunt popliteal artery injuries.Methods The clinical data of eleven patients with blunt popliteal arterial injuries,who were treated with two-points approach vascular stenting technique during the period from March 2011 to March 2015 as single-approach stenting repair failed,were retrospectively analyzed.First,antegrade puncture of the femoral artery on the affected side with subsequent angiography was performed to evaluate the arterial injury,when the attempt to push the guide-wire to pass the injured arterial segment by twisting manipulation failed the puncture of posterior tibial artery was immediately carried out,then,a 4-French single-bend catheter together with a goose neck snare was inserted.Guide-wire capture technique was used to gasp the guide-wire in the injured artery segment,and then the guide-wire was pulled to pass through the injured artery segment.In this way,the guide-wire working circle was reliably established,and along the guide-wire the vascular stent was inserted and delivered to the right site to repair the injured artery.A 6-French guiding catheter was inserted to perform thrombus aspiration for eliminating the distal outflow obstruction caused by thrombus.Thrombolytic therapy with small dose of urokinase through a indwelling catheter was employed for the treatment of peripheral arterial thrombosis.Results The technical success rate was 100％.Angiography revealed that partial transection of artery was detected in 7 patients,and complete transection of artery in 4 patients.A total of 16 stents were implanted.No perioperative mortality or procedure-related complication occurred.All patients were followed up for 13-24 months,with a mean of (18.7±3.8) months.In-stent thrombosis occurred in 2 patients,which was treated with thrombolytic therapy and the blood flow recovered;severe in-stent stenosis (＞70％) was seen in 3 patients,in whom the blood flow returned to normal after balloon dilation therapy;mild in-stent stenosis (＜30％) was found in 6 patients,and no special treatment was given.During the follow-up period,no stent fracture,deformation,or displacement was seen,and no patient needed to have an amputation surgery.Conclusion In treating blunt popliteal artery injuries,two-points approach vascular stenting technique can effectively reduce the operation time,rapidly recover the blood flow of the injured popliteal artery,and shorten the time of limb ischemia.This technique has very satisfactory clinical shortterm effect.

METHODS Adopting C/S framework,the backstage supporter adopted the large-scale database of SQL SERVER 2000 enterprises edition,the front application program used PowerBuilder7 programming.Antibacterial drugs utilization software was integrated into resident physician's working stations.Antibacterial drugs utilization control software was installed into working stations for department of nosocomial infection. RESULTS The application of the information system strengthened control of antibacterial drugs utilization and could guide physicians to utilize antibacterial drugs properly. CONCLUSIONS Antibacterial drugs utilization and control information system could reinforce management of antibacterial drugs utilization,and facilitate to utilize antibacterial drugs properly and safely.

Aim Subcortical ischemic vascular demen-tia ( SIVD ) induced by chronic hypoperfusion due to small-artery disease is a common cause of vascular de-mentia ( VaD) , which is recognized as the second most prevalent type of dementia. The aim of this study was to determine whether carnosine played a protective role in cognitive impairment induced by permanent occlu-sion of the right unilateral common carotid arteries ( rUCCAO ) in SIVD. Methods Adult male mice ( C57BL/6 strain ) were subjected to rUCCAO, and treated with carnosine or saline. Locomotor test, open field test, hot plate test, freezing test and Morris water maze were performed after rUCCAO. Results There were no differences among rUCCAO group, carnosine group and sham group for total distance traveled in lo-comotor test. In the open field test, carnosine (200, 500 mg · kg-1 ) significantly revised the decrease of latency spent in the center induced by SIVD . There were no differences between rUCCAO and sham groups for the pain threshold. In freezing test, rUCCAO in-duced a significant reduction in content memory, which was completely reversed by treatment of carnosine. In Morris water maze training trials, rUCCAO-treated mice showed prolonged escape latency in acquisition phase, carnosine ( 200, 500 mg · kg-1 ) markedly shortened the escape latency. Conclusion These data suggest that carnosine has a neuroprotective effect on cognitive impairment induced by rUCCAO in mice.

Objective The purpose of the study was to investigate the correlation in incidence and severity between peripheral arterial disease(PAD) and coronary artery disease and stroke in Chinese people,in order to assess the essentiality of Ankle Brachial Index(ABI) examination for all the patients.Methods Patients hospitalized to Departments of Cardiology,Neurology and Vascular Diseases from March 2006 to December 2007 were enrolled.ABI was measured,and the disease history was collected.Ejection fraction(EF),coronary arteriography and ultrasound examination of the cervical artery were recorded to analyze the relationship between them and ABI.The prevalence of decreased ABI was calculated.Results In 132 patients hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology,the prevalence of ABI
