1. A review on clinical application of high frequency traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of coronavirus pneumonia 2019
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2020;51(5):1153-1158
Since December 2019, there has been a sharp increase in the number of confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in China, which has caused great concern around the world. In face of severe epidemic, no specific drugs have been found in clinical practice. However, some Chinese medicine compounds have shown obvious clinical efficacy, and it is feasible to find and develop natural drugs for the treatment of novel coronavirus pneumonia from these compounds. In this paper, based on the recommends of new type of coronavirus infection pneumonia diagnosis and treatment scheme (trial version 6), the use frequency of Chinese herbal medicines was calculated. The antiviral reports of high frequency Chinese herbal medicines were reviewed, in order to provide the reference for screening the active components against SARS-CoV-2 from traditional Chinese medicine.

OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to explore suppositional sutural construction and protraction in the three-dimensional finite element model of craniofacial complex.
METHODSCombining spiral CT scanning technology with the three-dimensional finite element method, three-dimensional FEM model of craniofacial complex was developed for analysis. In the model, craniofacial sutures were constructed through the MSC. Patran program and different mechanical properties of sutures were applied. Under the same loading condition, bone displacements of the maxilla were calculated.
RESULTSA three-dimensional FE model of craniofacial complex, comprising teeth and craniofacial sutures, was developed. The displacement of the skeletal structures with sutures was significantly larger than that without sutures.
CONCLUSIONSThe construction of craniofacial sutures in the three-dimensional finite element model of craniofacial complex could improve the accuracy of finite element model, which set up good foundation for biomechanical studies of craniofacial complex.

OBJECTIVETo study the prevention & treatment effect of cordyceps sinensi on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF) in mice.
METHODRats were divided into 4 groups. In BM group (model), pulmonary interstitial fibrosis model was established through nasal dripping of 5 mg x kg(-1) bleomycin. In PCT group (prevention & treatment with cordyceps sinensi), cordyceps sinensi was orally administered 48 h before bleomycin dripping. In CT group (treatment with cordyceps sinensi), cordyceps sinensi was orally administered at 14 d after bleomycin dripping, and NC group (normal mice, control). At 28 d, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and lung tissue were collected, right lung received HE staining and masson staining, the change in cell micro-structure was observed under electron microscope, the hydroxyproline (HYP) content in lung tissue of left lung was detected through acidolysis method, and TGF-beta1, IFN-gamma and IL-4 concentration in BALF was detected through ELISA.
RESULTCompared with those in BM group, mouse lung coefficient decreased significantly (P < 0.05), alveolitis and fibrosis degree improved significantly in PCT and CT groups (P < 0.05), HYP content in lung decreased (P < 0.05). TGF-beta1 and 1L-4 content in BALF decreased significantly in each drug intervention group, IFN-gamma content increased significantly (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe cordyceps sinensi can alleviate bleomycin-induced alveolitis and fibrosis degree in a certain degree. The mechanism of the alleviation is possibly due to its inhibition of TGF-beta1 expression and its regulation of imbalance of the type I and II cytokine in lung tissue.

Objective To establish an artificial intelligence deep learning model using clinical colonoscopy images and video to assist the diagnosis by colonoscopy. Methods More than 600000 colonoscopy images were collected in endoscopic center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from 2014 to 2018, and endoscopic experts recorded a large number of high-quality operation video of colonoscopy as analysis data. After repeated discussion by six experts, the classified intestinal sites and pathological features were determined, and fuzzy and confusable images were deleted. The final selection result was approximately 1 out of 4. And then the features of images were marked using an independently developed software. The deep learning algorithm was developed using TensorFlow platform of Google. Results After repeated comparison and analysis of the results of machine training and judgment results combined with pathology from endoscopic experts, the sensitivity of the model for some diseases ( such as colon polyps) was 99% under laboratory conditions. In the clinical colonoscopy test, the sensitivity, specificity, and overall accuracy of this model for diagnosis of colon polyps were 98. 30%(4187/4259), 88. 10% (17620/20000), and 92. 92% [2×98. 30%×88. 10%/(98. 30%+88. 10%)], respectively. The sensitivity and specificity for ulcerative colitis were 78. 32% ( 2671/3410) , and 67. 06%(13412/20000), respectively. The diagnosis time spent on a single image was 0. 5±0. 03 s, and it was the real time for application, including system recognition, text prompt in video image, background record and storage. Conclusion The artificial intelligence assisted diagnosis model developed by our team can identify colonic polyps, colorectal cancer, colorectal eminence, colonic diverticulum, ulcerative colitis, etc. The auxiliary diagnosis model of colon disease can guide beginners to carry out colonoscopy, and can improve lesion detection rate, reduce misdiagnosis rate, and improve the overall operating efficiency of endoscopic center, which is conducive to the quality control of colonoscopy.

OBJECTIVETo determine the relationship between the serum hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA and the risk of primary liver cancer (PLC).
METHODSFarmers aged 30 to 55 years in Long An county were recruited in this study Blood samples were collected and the sera were tested for HBsAg using Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA), and the HBsAg-positive sera were further tested for viral DNA using nested polymerase chain reaction (nPCR). The study subjects were divided into three groups. The first group was positive for both HBsAg and HBV DNA. The second group was positive for HBsAg but negative for HBV DNA. Age-, sex-, residence-matched HBsAg negative controls for group 1 and group 2 were enrolled in the third group. The cohort was followed up for four years.
RESULTSThe positive rate of HBsAg in these farmers was 14.52% (3975/27,379), and the HBV DNA positive rate in HBsAg positive subjects was 40.35% (1604/3975). The total PLC incidence rate in Group 1 and 2 was 672.45 /100,000 person-years (PY), significantly higher than that in Group3 (17.19 /100,000 PY). The relative risk (RR) was 39.123, and the 95% confidence interval (CI) was 9.018-159.146. The PLC incidence rate of Group 1 (984.03/100,000 PY) was significantly higher than that of Group2 (324.38 /100,000 PY). The RR was 3.034, and the 95% CI was 1.795-5.125. Multivariate analyses of Group1 and 2 with Cox model showed that sex, age, serum HBV DNA, and family history of PLC were independent risk factors of PLC.
CONCLUSIONHBV DNA and HBsAg positive subjects have a higher chance to develop PLC than HBV DNA negative-, HBsAg positive subjects.

Objective To investigate the space structure of plague natural foci in the area of Lantsang, Yellow and Yangtse River in Qinghai Province to provide references for making decisions to eontrol the occurrence of human plague. Methods Data was collected from the survey on natural foci and surveillance of plague from 1954 to 2006 and descriptive epidemiological method was used to analyze the data. Results Marmata hirnalayana and Microtus fuscua natural foci were known in Sanjiangyuan area. Callopsylla dolabris, Oropsylla silantiewi, Citellophilus sparsilis and Amphipsylla tuta were vectors; Microtus fuscus plague natural foci was in a range of about 9500 km2, distributing in Zhenqin Town, Chengduo County. Marmata himalayana plague natural foci distributed over 13 countries, a range nearly 107 000 km2. By the end of 2006, 450 strains of Yersinia pestis were detected and separated from 6 kinds of rodents, 6 kinds of carnivora, 3 kinds of artiodactyls and 9 insects vectors. Between 1960 and 2006, 238 cases and 134 deaths from plague were reported. Most human plague cases occurred in the months from May to November and usually presented as one of three primary forms-bubonic 17.23%(41/238), septicemic 16.81% (40/238), pneumonic 61.34% (146/238) and other types 4.62% (11/238). However, the first epidemic plague case was mainly the glandular plague. Conclusions Date suggested that plague is still a critical public health problem in Sanjiangyuan area, against which countermaeasure needs to be strengthened in the main epidemic areas. More scientific researches on plague should be carried out. Surveillance networks of reporting suspected plague have been established and reduce the number of human plague cases.
