Aim To investigate the effects of emodin on the contraction of gallbladder smooth muscle(GBSM)and the L-type calcium current in GBSM cells. Methods Gallbladder muscle strips were obtained from adult guinea pigs and the resting tension was recorded.Gallbladder smooth muscle cells were isolated by enzymatic digestion, and calcium current was recorded by the whole-cell patch clamp method. Results Emodin-induced contraction of GBSM was significantly attenuated by pretreatment with nifedipine.Emodin increased the L-type calcium current in a dose-dependent manner. When 10 ?mol?L-1 emodin was applied to GBSM cells, the amplitude of L-type calcium current at +10 mV was enhanced by(45.2?2.26)%.In the presence of PKC inhibitor, staurosporine, emodin did not significantly affect the calcium current. Conclusion Emodin enhances L-type calcium current via PKC-dependent pathway and promotes gallbladder contraction.

Objective To study the effect of squatting toilet behavior on gastric transport time(GTT)and complete examination rate of small bowel(CER)during capsule endoscopy. Methods A total of 122 patients who underwent capsule endoscopy at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January to December 2019 were recruited and randomly divided into test group(n=63)and control group(n=59).The patients of the test group were asked to take squatting posture for toileting after swallowing the capsule, while those of the control group were asked to take sitting in defecation if needed.GTT,small bowel transit time(SBTT),CER and diagnostic yield(DY)were compared between the 2 groups. Results There were no significant differences in gender, age and conditions during hospitalization between the test group and the control group. The test group obtained obviously higher CER(92.06%vs 79.66%,P=0.048)and shorter GTT(26.7 vs 45.6 min,P=0.027)when compared with the control group. No statistical differences were seen in SBTT and DY between the 2 groups. Conclusion Squatting posture for toileting of patients accepted capsule endoscopy can reduce the transit time of capsules in the stomach and increase the CER.

The purpose of this study is to dig deep into teaching materials, find ideological and political elements, and integrate ideological and political courses into pharmacology teaching on the premise of improving moral education ability of teachers. A variety of teaching methods are used in learning and teaching, and nursing professionalism is trained while imparting knowledge, so that students can establish correct outlook on world, life and values, cultivate their innovation and entrepreneurship ability, and do a better job of cultivating morality and cultivating people of nursing specialty.

Objective We aimed to explore the clinical efficacy of precise electro-acupuncture stimulation in the pterygopalatine fossa for the treatment of chronic sinusitis. Methods In total,40 patients with chronic sinusitis who visited the Xiyuan Hospital,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences between January 2022 and January 2023 were selected. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group(receiving precise electro-acupuncture in the pterygopalatine fossa)and the control group(receiving standard western medical treatment),with 20 cases in each groups. The treatments were administered twice a week for a period of 12 weeks. The effectiveness of the treatments was evaluated through computed tomography(CT)of the sinus changes and the Lund-Mackay scoring system. Results In cases of total opacity and partial opacity, there were significant differences between the two patient groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).Intra-group comparison revealed statistically significant improvements in both groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).The treatment group exhibited significant improvement in various sinus conditions(P<0.05),while in the control group,a significant improvement was only observed in the left maxillary sinus(P<0.05).Inter-group comparison also demonstrated that the treatment group's improvements were superior to those of the control group across multiple indicators(P<0.05).Conclusion The precise electro-acupuncture stimulation technique in the pterygopalatine fossa demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in the treatment of chronic sinusitis, with superior outcomes with respect to radiological changes compared to standard western medicine treatment.
