1.MicroRNA Target Prediction Based on Support Vector Machine Ensemble Classification Algorithm of Under-sampling Technique.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2016;33(1):72-77
Considering the low accuracy of prediction in the positive samples and poor overall classification effects caused by unbalanced sample data of MicroRNA (miRNA) target, we proposes a support vector machine (SVM)-integration of under-sampling and weight (IUSM) algorithm in this paper, an under-sampling based on the ensemble learning algorithm. The algorithm adopts SVM as learning algorithm and AdaBoost as integration framework, and embeds clustering-based under-sampling into the iterative process, aiming at reducing the degree of unbalanced distribution of positive and negative samples. Meanwhile, in the process of adaptive weight adjustment of the samples, the SVM-IUSM algorithm eliminates the abnormal ones in negative samples with robust sample weights smoothing mechanism so as to avoid over-learning. Finally, the prediction of miRNA target integrated classifier is achieved with the combination of multiple weak classifiers through the voting mechanism. The experiment revealed that the SVM-IUSW, compared with other algorithms on unbalanced dataset collection, could not only improve the accuracy of positive targets and the overall effect of classification, but also enhance the generalization ability of miRNA target classifier.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Zhishanghan Zhufeng Formula in treating knee osteoarthritis. Methods Totally 90 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 45 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Zhishanghan Zhufeng Formula for 30 days. The control group was treated with routine medicine (diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets and glucosamine sulfate tablets) for 30 days. The clinical efficacy and the changes of VAS, WOMAC score and knee temperature before and after treatment of two groups were observed. Results TCM clinical symptoms were significantly improved, and the effects in the treatment group were more evident compared with the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, VAS and WOMAC score of the two groups decreased obviously, while the knee temperature increased, and the treatment group was superior to the control group, with significant significance (P<0.05).Conclusion Zhishanghan Zhufeng Formula has effective clinical efficacy for knee osteoarthritis.

Objective To investigate the value of low-pressure laparoscopic technique for appendicitis surgery during early and mid-term pregnancy. Methods The clinical data of 13 pregnant women underwent low-pressure laparoscopic appendectomy from July 2007 to December 2010 were analyzed retrospectively. Results All the 13 cases were performed laparoscopic appendectomy successfully without laparotomy and cured completely before discharged from hospital No intestinal fistula, wound infection, abortion and other complications occurred.During follow-up,9 cases of full-term pregnancy patients gave birth to healthy babies, and there was no abortion and premature delivery on 4 patients still in their pregnancy. Conclusion For women at early or mid-term pregnancy with acute appendicitis,low-pressure laparoscopic appendectomy could reduce the stimulus of surgical operation on uterus and decrease the risk of abortion.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of repairing postoperative nasal skin cancer defect with subcutaneous pedicle flap based on partition and blood supply. Methods:From March 2018 to September 2020, 39 patients with skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma, Bowen′s disease, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma in situ) were repaired with kites subcutaneous pedicle flap after extensive resection.Results:Thirty-nine patients were treated with parafasal kite flaps, including 44 cases. The donor sites of the flap were nasal tip in 4 cases, bilateral alar in 7 cases, bilateral nasolabial sulcus in 19 cases, bilateral parasinal in 12 cases and interglabellar in 2 cases. There were no serious complications such as necrosis, hematoma or infection. During the follow-up period of 6 to 24 months, 2 patients complained of occasional tingling in the surgical area, 1 complained of occasional pruritus, and 1 patient had local recurrence of squamous cell carcinoma and underwent surgery again. The scar was evaluated 6 months after surgery, and the scores of Vancouver scar scale and visual analogue scale were 2.42±1.04 and 7.83±1.21, respectively. The skin color of the operation area was similar to that of the surrounding skin without obvious local strain deformation. Conclusions:The subcutaneous pedicle flap designed by considering the nasal division and blood supply has a high survival rate, fewer complications and small local appearance deformation, which is worthy of popularization and application.

Crossmodal information processing in sensory cortices has been reported in sparsely distributed neurons under normal conditions and can undergo experience- or activity-induced plasticity. Given the potential role in brain function as indicated by previous reports, crossmodal connectivity in the sensory cortex needs to be further explored. Using perforated whole-cell recording in anesthetized adult rats, we found that almost all neurons recorded in the primary somatosensory, auditory, and visual cortices exhibited significant membrane-potential responses to crossmodal stimulation, as recorded when brain activity states were pharmacologically down-regulated in light anesthesia. These crossmodal cortical responses were excitatory and subthreshold, and further seemed to be relayed primarily by the sensory thalamus, but not the sensory cortex, of the stimulated modality. Our experiments indicate a sensory cortical presence of widespread excitatory crossmodal inputs, which might play roles in brain functions involving crossmodal information processing or plasticity.
