Thioredoxin-related protein 14 (TRP14),a new member of Trx family,is a novel disulfide reductase with conservative CPDC motif. Its structure and function are comparable to Trx,which is the representative member of Trx family. However, there are many differences. When tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) induced cells to produce the active oxygen,TRP14 can change oxidatin state of dynein light chain(its substrate),act as a sensor of the intracellular redox state to regulate NF-κB signaling pathways induced by TNF-α,MAPK and apoptosis signaling pathways.

Objective To study the susceptibility of Neisseria gonorrhoeae to antibiotic agents from 1988 to 2002 in Shanghai. Methods The clinical isolates from patients with gonorrhea were collected and tested for their susceptibility to five antibiotics. Agarose-dilution-method was used to detect minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of anti-microbial agents including penicillin, tetracycline, spectinomycin, ciprofloxacin and ceftriaxone, and penicillinase producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae (PPNG) were tested with acidometric method. Results Susceptible strains to penicillin decreased from 11.28% in 1988 to 0 in 2002, MIC50 and MIC90 increased 8 and 4 times, respectively, the resistant rate and proportion of PPNG were 94.29% and 50.95%, respectively in 2002. The strains of high resistance to tetracycline increased from 0 in 1995 to 20.95% in 2002. The susceptible strains to ceftriaxone decreased from 100% in 1995 to 23.80% in 2002. The susceptibility to ciprofloxacin decreased significantly and resistant rate reached 99.05% in 2002. However, these strains were kept highly susceptible to spectionmycin. Concerning the multi-drug resistance, we found that the strains resistant to penicillin, ciprofloxacin and tetracycline simultaneously increased from 20.87% in 2001 to 23.30% in 2002, those resistant to both penicillin and ciprofloxacin reached to 70% in the past 2 years. Conclusions In Shanghai the resistant rates of Neisseria gonorrhoeae to antibiotics increased year by year in the past 15 years. The study indicates that spectinomycin and ceftriaxone should be the first choice for the treatment of gonorrhea at present and new sensitive antibiotic should be developed for the treatment of gonorrhea.

OBJECTIVETo observe effect of oral scorpio and scolopendra powder on T-cell subsets in peripheral blood and intestine from rats with collagen induced arthritis (CIA).
METHOD60 rats were randomly divided into 6 groups: normal control group, model control group, low-dose scorpio and scolopendra group, middle-dose scorpio and scolopendra group, high-dose scorpio and scolopendra group, and type II collagen group. Rat's rheumatoid arthritis was induced by collagen II (C II). Level of T-cell subsets from peripheral blood and intestine was measured by flow cytometry.
RESULTCD4+ T cellular level was obviously increased (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01) or kept increased tendency in peripheral blood and intestine from the model group compared with that of the normal group, while the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in intestine was obviously descent but the contrary in peripheral blood (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). CD4+, CD8+ T cellular level in intestine were obviously descent and the ratio of CD4+ /CD8+ increased in all treated groups when compared with in the model group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). However, CD4+ T cellular level and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in peripheral blood were remarkablely decreased.
CONCLUSIONThe mechanism that scorpio and scolopendra could treat rat's rheumatoid arthritis may be regulating balance of T-lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and intestine.

ObjectiveTo investigate the association of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) with the prognosis of patients with alcohol-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after radical treatment. MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 43 patients with alcohol-related HCC who were admitted to The Fifth Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital and underwent radical treatment from January 2008 to July 2015, and according to HDL-C level, the patients were divided into normal group with 26 patients and abnormal group with 17 patients. The two groups were compared in terms of basic information, laboratory markers, imaging indices, Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer tumor stage, and Child-Pugh class of liver function. The t-test test was used for comparison of normally distributed continuous data between two groups, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of non-normally distributed continuous data between two groups; the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between two groups. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to plot survival curves and the log-rank test was used for comparison between groups. Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards models were used to analyze independent risk factors for prognosis. ResultsThere was a significant difference in prealbumin between the two groups (162.38±60.86 mg/L vs 120.06±64.08 mg/L, t=2.184, P=0.035). Number of tumors (hazard ratio [HR]=2.839, 95%confidence interval [CI]: 1.120~7.200,P=0.028), tumor size (HR=2.634, 95%CI: 1.062~6.529,P=0037), and HDL-C level (HR=2.400, 95%CI: 1.040~5.537,P=0.040) were independent risk factors for the overall survival of patients with alcohol-related HCC. There were significant differences in 1-, 3-, and 5-year cumulative survival rates between the normal group and the abnormal group (88.5%/72.4%/55.7% vs 70.6%/43.7%/17.5%, χ2=5.881, P=0.015). ConclusionThe reduction in HDL-C level might indicate poor prognosis of patients with alcohol-related HCC.

Objective:To explore the relationship between fragmented QRS complex and heart rate variability (HRV) and ventricular arrhythmia in patients with old myocardial infarction. Methods:From August 2018 to October 2019, 200 patients with old myocardial infarction were first treated in the Department of cardiac function examination of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University. The patients were divided into 99 cases of old myocardial infarction with fragmented QRS wave group and 101 cases of old myocardial infarction without fragmented QRS wave group according to the case bank data and conventional 12 lead ECG diagnosis in our hospital for the first time. Then, the 24-h ambulatory ECG reexamined within 1 year after discharge was retrospectively analyzed. The incidence of ventricular arrhythmia was compared between the two groups by χ 2 test. The difference of heart rate variability between the two groups was compared by rank sum test. Multiple logistic regression was used to analyze the value of different indexes of heart rate variability in the evaluation of fragmented QRS complex in old myocardial infarction. Drawing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC), and the area under the curve (AUC) was used to analyze the diagnostic accuracy of different indexes of heart rate variability in the broken QRS complex of old myocardial infarction. Results:According to the Lown classification of ventricular premature contraction, the number of positive ventricular arrhythmias in patients with Grade Ⅰ of ventricular premature contraction and Grade Ⅲ-Ⅴ of ventricular premature contraction in the old myocardial infarction fragmented QRS group was higher than that in the old myocardial infarction non fragmented QRS group (Grade Ⅰ of ventricular premature contraction: 54.5% (54/99)and 39.6%(40/101); χ 2=4.484, P<0.05;Grade Ⅲ-Ⅴ of ventricular premature contraction: 34.3% (34/99) and 9.9%(10/101); χ 2=17.406, P<0.05)). Ventricular premature contraction Grade 0 old myocardial infarction fragmented QRS group was lower than old myocardial infarction non fragmented QRS group (8.1% (8/99) and 48.5% (49/101); χ 2=37.995, P<0.05). The total number of positive cases of ventricular arrhythmia in the old myocardial infarction group with fragmented QRS wave was higher than that in the old myocardial infarction group without fragmented QRS wave (91.9% (91/99) and 51.5%(52/101); χ 2=57.146, P<0.05)). There was no significant difference in the number of positive ventricular arrhythmias between the old myocardial infarction fragmentation QRS group and the old myocardial infarction non fragmentation QRS group ( P>0.05). The standard deviation of NN intervals (SDNN) and the standard deviation of average NN intervals (SDANN) of HRV time domain indexes in the old myocardial infarction fragmented QRS group were higher than those in the old myocardial infarction non fragmented QRS Group (SDNN:143.00(122.00,166.00) vs. 110.00(95.00,130.50), Z=5.780, P<0.05; SDANN:112.00(100.00,136.00) vs. 96.00(76.00,118.50), Z=4.013, P<0.05). Multiple Logistics regression analysis results of HRV domain shows that HRV time domain SDNN and SDANN have diagnositic value in diagnosis fQRS after OMI(SDNN: OR=0.949, 95% CI:0.922-0.977, P<0.001; SDANN: OR=1.036, 95% CI:1.005-1.068, P=0.022). Area under ROC curve of HRV time domain SDNN and SDANN have particular diagnositic accuracy in diagnosis fQRS after OMI(SDNN: AUC 0.737, 95% CI 0.666-0.807, Sensitivity 0.818, Specificity 0.634; SDANN: AUC 0.664, 95% CI 0.587-0.741, Sensitivity 0.737, Specificity 0.673. 0.5

Objective:To analyze the clinic effects of arthroscopic partial trapeziectomy and suture button suspensionplasty in the treatment of first carpometacarpal joint (CMCJ) Eaton stage II/III arthrosis. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on a total of 15 cases (16 hands) of patients including 5 males (1 bilateral) and 10 females with CMCJ stage II/III arthrosis who underwent surgical treatment at the first affiliated hospital of Shenzhen university from January 2020 to June 2022, with mean age of 56.7±6.4 years (range, 46-75 years). The duration from pain to treatment was 7.8±3.2 months (range, 4-14 months). X-ray showed narrowing of CMCJ with osteophytes and distal radial subluxation. All the patients were treated with arthroscopic partial trapeziectomy and suture button suspensionplasty. The preoperative and last postoperative follow-up radiographs, visual analogue scale (VAS), thumb's Kapandji scores, disabilies of the arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH) scores, grip and pinch strength and time to return to work were compared. Results:All cases were followed up for 19.6±6.3 months (range, 11-36 months). The postoperative X-ray showed all the CMCJs were reduced with a normal height of first metacarpal. The mean time for patients to return to their daily activities was 18.69±3.70 d and the mean time to return to work was 24.63±4.91 d. The average VAS score decreased from 6.56±1.15 preoperatively to 1.00 (0.75, 1.25). The preoperative Kapandji's score was 8.00±0.82 and the postoperative Kapandji's score was 8.00 (7.25, 9.00). The average DASH values improved from 24.06±3.19 to 4.00 (3.00, 5.00). The were significant differences except for Kapandji score ( Z=-4.905, P<0.001; Z=-0.121, P=0.905; Z=-4.846, P<0.001). The mean grip and pinch strength showed improvement from an average of 16.4 (14.13, 18.68) kg and 1.70±0.35 kg to 26.14±3.27 kg and 3.58±0.91 kg with significant difference ( Z=-4.617, P<0.001; t=-7.669, P<0.001). Conclusion:Arthroscopic partial trapeziectomy and suture button suspensionplasty is a minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of first CMCJ Eaton stage II/III arthrosis. By this technique, the patients' existing instability and pain problems can be solved.
