AIM To investigate the effects of tetracycline on the expression of adhesive molecules E selectin and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM 1) on human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) stimulated by tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF ?) or lipopolysaccharide (LPS). METHODS HUVECs were activated by TNF ? (0 5～50 ?g?L 1 ) or LPS (0 5～50 mg?L -1 ). Tetracycline (10 -6 ～10 -4 mol?L -1 ) was used to incubate HUVECs for 1 h before stimulation with TNF ? ( 1 ?g?L -1 ) or LPS ( 5 mg?L -1 ) and co incubate HUVECs with TNF ? or LPS for 4 h or 18 h. The expression of adhesive molecules on HUVECs was measured by a cellular enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay (Cell ELISA) method. Objective To understand the main and multiple kinds of diseases and probe into key points of diseases for hospice care in geriatric nursing organization in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai city. Methods Pareto chart wag used to analyze situation on disease component of deathbed-patients discharged from 22 geriatric nursing organizations from years 2005 to 2007 in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. Results Components of cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, respiratory system disease, finale malignancy and senile decrepitude were accounted more than 95%.Conclusions Kinds of diseases in deathbed-patients discharged from nursing organizations in city were relatively concentrated, especially cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, respiratory system disease, finale malignancy and senile decrepitude, etc should be focal point of hospice care service in geriatric nursing organizations.

Objective:To analyze genetic diversity of Fluconazole(FLZ)-resistant and -susceptible Candida albicans(C. albicans) strains isolated from patients with Sjgren's Syndrome (SS). Methods:30 C.albicans strains were isolated from the patients with SS and identified using standard criteria. Microdilution method was performed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of C.albicans to FLZ. A composite genotype was generated for each strain through random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) using three different primers, RSD10, RSD11 and RSD12. Results:The DNA fingerprinting profiles indicated genetic diversity amongst both the FLZ-resistant as well as -susceptible isolates, and no specific features emerged distinguishing the drug-resistant and -susceptible groups. Conclusion:These observations cast doubt on the theory of a clonal origin of FLZ-resistant C. albicans isolates. The emergence of FLZ resistance in SS patients may be associated with continuous exposure to FLZ.

OBJECTIVE: To examine AMCase mRNA expression levels in nasal mucosa of allergic rhinitis SD rats. METHOD: Thirty SD rats were chosen and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. 20 in experimental group and 10 in the control group. AR model rats were established through repeated intraperitoneal shot of ovalbumin (OVA) for 2 weeks and consequently confirmed by local challenge with OVA for 1 week. The control group was treated by the same method with Physiological saline water instead of OVA. After the last excitation allergic rhinitis was diagnosed according to the accumulation score about nasal symptom. The septal mucosa of all rats were used to diagnose pathologically by HE dyeing. AMCase mRNA in nasal mucosa, obtained from the bilateral nasal mucosa in two groups, were used to do reverse transcriptive polymerase chain reaction. Real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to examine AMCase mRNA expression levels. RESULT: (1) The results showed definitely that there were positive expression of AMCase mRNA in normal nasal mucosa. This expression increase significantly during nasal allergy (P < 0.05). (2) The increased expression of AMCase mRNA in allergic rhinitis are related with the nasal symptoms score (r = 0.411, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Increased expression of AMCase mRNA in nasal mucosa in allergic rhinitis model might play roles in the pathogenesis of AR, and Restrain the enzyme activity could become new treatment targets of allergic rhinitis.

Objective To provide the theoretic basis for the clearance of the metastatic lymph nodes in radical operation of colorectal carcinoma(CRC) by means of exploring the relationship between mass size of both tumor and lymph nodes and the rate of lymph node metastasis. Methods A total of 702 lymph nodes from 57 cases of CRC radical operations were divided into 5 groups and each of the lymph nodes was examined. The size of lymph nodes, Dukes' phases, the pathological types of CRC and their metastasis rate were analyzed. Results ① High metastasis rate was found at Dukes' C and D phases of CRC, being 29.93% and 48.12%, respectively. ② The metastasis rates of mucous adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma were the highest of all pathological types, being 59 52% and 59.26%, respectively. ③ Metastasis rate of lymph nodes was not correlated with the mass size of tumor, but correlated with Dukes' phase. Conclusion ① Metastasis rate of lymph nodes increases with the growth and infiltration of tumor. ② Metastasis rates of mucous adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma are higher than those of well and mid differentiated carcinomas. ③ Metastasis may be suggested for lymph node of CRC more than 5 mm in diameter during operation. However, clearance of lymph node of CRC less than 5 mm in diameter needs further study.

Objective To observe the efficacy of zhibituo combined with atorvastatin on type 2 diabetic patients with hyperlipidemia and its impact on blood lipids,fibrinogen (Fib) and D-dimer.Methods One hundred and seventy type 2 diabetic patients with hyperlipidemia visited our hospital from January 2010 to December 2012 were randomly divided into observation group and control group(with 85 cases in each group).Control group were given atorvastatin (1 0 mg,1 times / day),and the observation group were treated with zhibituo(1.05 g,3 times/day) on the basis of atorvastatin treatment,both treatment were 8 weeks.The levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc),lipids,Fib and D-dimer were observed before and after treatment,and the efficacy of the two groups were compared.Results The efficacy in observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (92.94％ (79/85) vs.81.18％ (69/85),x2 =4.229,P ＜ 0.05).There was significant difference on the levels of total cholesterol (TC) ((7.46 ±1.83) mmol/L vs.(4.28 ± 1.94) mmol/L,triglycerides (TG) (3.57 ± 1.32) mmoL/L vs.(1.47 ± 0.86)mmol/L,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) (4.68 ± 1.04) mmol/L vs.(2.19 ± 0.72) mmol/L,high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) (0.85 ± 0.21) mmol/L,vs.1.47 ± 0.43) mmol/L,fasting plasma glucose (FPG) ((8.65 ± 2.19) mmol/L vs.(6.38 ± 0.83) mmol/L).glvcosvlated hemoglobin (HbAlc) ((7.49 ± 1.67)％ vs.(6.28 ± 1.48)％),fibre(FiB) ((7.42 ± 1.38) mg/L vs.(3.76 ± 1.18)mg/L),and D-dimer ((1.18 ±0.17) g/L vs.(0.51 ±0.18) g/L) in observation group before and after treatment(t =10.993,12.289,18.849,11.945,8.936,4.999,18.584,24.949 respectively,all P ＜ 0.05).And there was also significant difference on the levels ofTC ((7.51 ± 1.27) mmol/L vs.(5.10 ±2.18) mmol/L),TG((3.48 ± 1.29) mmol/L vs.(1.88 ±0.37) mmol/L),LDL-C((4.57 ± 1.18) mmol/L vs.(2.81 ±0.83) mmol/L),HDL-C ((0.83 ± 0.22) mmol/L vs.(1.16 ± 0.28) mmol/L),FPG((8.72 ± 1.92) mmol/L vs.(7.42 ± 1.82) mmol/L),HbAlc((7.53 ± 1.32)％ vs.(6.79 ± 1.23)％),Fib((7.38 ± 1.63) mg/L vs.(4.41 ± 1.02) mg/L) and D-dimer ((1.20 ±0.15) g/L vs.(0.65 ±0.12) g/L) in control group before and after treatment (t =8.807,10.992,11.248,8.544,4.530,3.781,14.240,26.397,respectively,all P ＜0.05).The elevated levels of the observation group were more obvious compared with control group ((t =2.591,4.038,5.202,5.570,4.793,2.443,3.842,5.967 respectively,all P ＜0.01).Conclusion The efficacy of zhibituo combined with atorvastatin is obvious in type 2 diabetic patients with hyperlipidemia,it is helpful to regulate the disorders of fibrinolysis and coagulation.

Objective To elucidate the relationship between serum uric acid (SUA) and cardiovascular risk factors in Shandong coastal inhabitants. Methods A random, stratified cluster sampling method was conducted. A population.based cross-sectional survey for hyperuricemia was performed and 4 988 dwellers of Shandong coast were investigated. Fasting SUA,lipid profiles,insulin concentrations,etc.,were determined by automatic biochemical analysis device and electrochemiluminescence analyzer.The investigation of general,healthy and nutritional conditions was carried out by questionnaire. Results In male and female subjects, the cardiovascular risk factors such as systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure, selum ereatinine,total cholesterol.triglvceride,waist circumference and body mass index all increased with rising SUA,and the level of senlm high densitv lipoprotein fell accordingly.Homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index (HOMA- IR) in female subjects increased by the quartile group,not in male subjects.Compared with SUA<280 μmol/L group.odds ratio(OR) values of hypertension in SUA 280-319,320-349,≥350 μmol/L groups were 1.54,1.88 and 2.70 respectively in female,and 2.29,4.15 and 4.96 for metabolic syndrome (MS).As for male,compared with SUA<280 μmol/L group OR value of hypertension in SUA ≥420 μmol/L group was 1.52,and OR values of MS of 1.41,1.87 and 3.27 occurred in SUA 320～379,380～419,≥420 μmol/L groups.After being adjusted for confounding factors,logistic stepwise regression revealed that elevated SUA was an independent risk factor for hypertension in both genders.Conclusion Elevated SUA level is closely related to the incidence and development of cardiovascular diseases,and should not be ignored in clinical practice.

To study the chemical constituents of the stems of Clematis parviloba, six compounds were isolated from a 95% ethanol extract by using a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20, and semi-preparative HPLC. Two new phenolic glycosides, 2-((E)-3-carboxybut-2-en-yl)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-phenyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and 4'-hydroxy-phenol-beta-D-[6-O-(4"-hydroxy-3", 5"-dimethoxy-benzoate)] glucopyranoside (2) were isolated, together with a known phenolic glycoside, 4'-hydroxy-3'-methoxy-phenol-beta-D-[6-O-(4"-hydroxy-3", 5"-dimethoxy-benzoate)] glucopyranoside (3) as well as three known megastigmane glycosides, linarionoside A (4), linarionoside C (5), and staphylionoside K (6). Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical evidence. Among them, compounds 1 and 2 were named as clemaparvilosides A (1) and B (2), respectively, and compounds 3-6 were obtained from Clematis genus for the first time.
