China Oncology 2016;26(8):693-698
Background and purpose:Fallopian tube carcinosarcoma is a rare malignant tumor that is prone to metastasis and recurrence. Patients with the malignancy often have poor prognosis. This paper retrospectively analyzed the clinical manifestation, pathology, treatment and prognosis of fallopian tube carcinosarcoma. Methods:The clinical manifestations, pathological features, treatment and survival time of 7 cases of fallopian tube carcinosarcoma were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The most common symptoms of 7 cases of fallopian tube carcinosarcoma were irregular vaginal bleeding (4/7, 57.1%). Among 7 cases, one case was stageⅠa, 1 stageⅡa, 1 stageⅡb, 1 stageⅢb, and 3 stageⅢc. Four cases (57.1%) were heterologous and found to have cartilage components whereas 3 cases (42.9%) were homologous. Seven cases were performed with tumor volume reduction surgery, and 6 cases with chemotherapy, while no one received radiotherapy. Five patients survived and 2 were dead. The survival time of 3 patients was more than 5 years. The longest survival time to the end of the follow-up was 114 months. Conclusion:The pathological examination is the diagnostic means of fallopian tube carcinosarcoma. The prognosis of the patients with the pathological characteristics of the homologous is better than that of the heterologous. Satisfactory reduction of tumor, postoperative chemotherapy with adequate TP regimen, combined with systemic chemotherapy and intraperitoneal chemotherapy may be an effective treatment for fallopian tube carcinosarcoma.

Objective To detect the protein expression of chemotactic monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP 1), macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha (MIP 1alpha) and regulated on activation normal T cell expression secretion (RANTES) in the affected muscle of simple polymyositis (SPM), and analysed the relationship between the amount of these proteins and the stage, severity of SPM.Methods Immuohistochemical LAB technique was used to detect the expression of these chemotactic factor protein in SPM affected muscle specimens. The expression levels of these chemotactic factors were determined by Image Analyzer system. Results The expressions of these chemotactic factors protein in SPM were showed in SPM. The expression levels of MCP 1 increased remarkably in the chronic SPM group and the severer one (P0 05).Conclusion MCP 1 not only could play an important role in the chronic SPM,but also related to the severity of the disease,it might be as an index on the development and deterioration of the di sease;MIP 1alpha might contribute to the continuous development of the disease. RANTES might embody its role as a ubiquitous response to inflammation during the onset of SPM.

PurposeTo exploit the relationship between the history of abortion and the infection of viral hepatitis C in the pregnant women.MethodsRisk factors for hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection were analyzed by Chi-square and a multiple logistic regression analysis in 2 783 pregnant women from Shanghai Punan hospital in 1995- 1998.ResultsThe results showed that the following factors associated significandy with anti-HCV seropositive rate:number of abortion,anti-HCV positive of spouse. In the logistic regression analysis the prevalence rate of HCV in pregnant women who were laid-off their work was 7.37 %, which was higher than that of other occupational pregnant women. There was no relationship between the HCV infection and age, marital status, history of injection, operation, hospitalization and the drug abuse.ConclusionsAbortion is a risk factor of HCV infection in pregnant women. The positive rate of anti-HCV is increased with the number of abortion. Strengthening thesterilization and disinfection of instruments during the abortion operation is necessary.

Background and purpose:18?-glycyrrhetinic acid(GA) is one of the important components of glycyrrhiza.Recent years, studies showed that GA has the effect of proliferation inhibition in human acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells, human liver carcinoma and lung cancer cells. We investigated the effects of GA on induction of apoptosis in human breast carcinoma(MCF7) cells. The previous studies have demonstrated that the dynamic change of intracellular free Ca~(2+) concentration([Ca~(2+)]i)plays important roles in many links of apoptosis-induced process. Therefore we also researched the relationship between GA-induced apoptosis and [Ca~(2+)]i in MCF-7 cells. Methods:After MCF-7 cells were treated with 50-250 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,cell viability for proliferation was assessed by MTT assay.MCF-7 cells treated with 100 ?mol/L and 150 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,the apoptotic rates in MCF7 cells were examined by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase mediated dUTP nick-end-labeling method, flow cytometry with Annexin V/ propidium iodide fluorescent stain and single cell gel electrophoresis assay(SCGE).For cells treated with 150 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,i was measured by Fure-2 fluorescein load method. For cells treated with 150 ?mol/L GA combined with 100 ?mol/L BAPTA-AM or 0.5 mmol/L EGTA for 24 h,cell apoptosis were examined by SCGE.Results:For cells treated with GA from 100 ?mol/L to 250 ?mol/L,the rate of proliferative inhibition was increased significantly(P

BACKGROUND: In many studies, rats were commonly used as models of retrorsine-induced hepatic injury. Some reports have confirmed that retrorsine cannot inhibit proliferation of mouse hepatic cells. Other reports have shown that retrorsine has inhibitory effects on proliferation of mouse hepatic cells. OBJECTIVE: To study the liver regeneration after hepatic injury by creating mouse models treated with partial hepatectomy combination with retrorsine. METHODS: A total of 40 C57BL/6J mice were equally and randomly assigned to 2 groups. In the partial hepatectomy combined with retrorsine group, intraperitoneal injection of retrorsine 70 mg/kg was conducted, twice, within an interval of 2 weeks. Four weeks later, 2/3 hepatectomy was performed. In the partial hepatectomy group, intraperitoneal injection of saline 70 mg/kg was performed, twice, with an interval of 2 weeks. Four weeks later, 2/3 hepatectomy was performed. At 14 days after partial hepatectomy, the restoration of the livers was observed. The liver cell injury was observed at 3, 7 days with hematoxylin-eosin staining. The hepatocyte proliferation was observed at 3 days with BrdU staining. Oval cell proliferation was observed at 3, 7and 14 days with CK19 and C-kit antibody immunohistochemistry.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In the partial hepatectomy group, the damaged liver nearly restored to normal at 14 days after partial hepatectomy, and the result was contrary to partial hepatectomy combined with retrorsine group. Hematoxylin-eosin staining demonstrated that significant degeneration changes in hepatic cells in the partial hepatectomy combined with retrorsine group. BrdU staining showed that hepatocyte proliferation at day 3 was significantly determined in the partial hepatectomy group, but few in the partial hepatectomy combined with retrorsine group. CK19 and C-kit immunohistochemistry demonstrated that visible oval cell proliferation was seen in mice of partial hepatectomy combined with retrorsine group. First of all, hepatic oval cells appeared in portal area and differentiated into hepatic cells and bile duct cells, and then grew into the hepatic lobule gradually. These indicated that retrorsine can obviously inhibit hepatocyte regeneration after liver injury in mice. The model of mice treated with retrorsine and partial hepatectomy could induce oval cell proliferation.

This is a report of 3 cases of parkinsonism with long term administration of lamivudine. The clinic
features were mask like faces, shuffling gait, lethargy and reduced automatic movement. After stopping
use of lamivudine and treatment of anticholingeric drugs, the symptoms and signs of all cases were
ameliorated. The possibilities of Wilson’s disease and other secondary parkinsonisms were excluded.
The parkinsonism was attributed to complications from lamivudine. Lamivudine associated parkinsonism
has not been reported previously in the medical literature.
