The effect of shark cartilage active extract (SCAE) on the lung metastasis and the immune function were studied in C57 mice with oral administration. The formation of pulmonary metastasis (B16 melanoma)was significantly inhibited, with an inhibitory rate of 33. 1%. The proliferation rate of spleen cells to ConA was obviously increased,the increased rate being as high as that of the normal. The cytotoxicity of LAK cells is also increased,but lower than that of the mormal.

A total of 101 lipid metabolism disorder patients with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome of phlegm and turbidity retardation were collected and randomly divided into group A:Jiangzhi Decoction (JZF) alone (n =30),group B:atorvastatin (ATV) alone (n =39) and group C:JZF plus ATV (n =32).Lipid level,liver and kidney function,total effective rate and TCM scores were observed after a course of 2 weeks.Total effective rate:Group C was significantly superior to group B (90.62％ vs.76.92％,u =1.97,P ＜ 0.05) ; TCM score:Group C had a statistically superior advantage over groups A andB (C vs.A,90.62％ vs.80.00％,u=1.98,P＜0.05; Cvs.B,90.62％ vs.51.28％,u=4.11,P ＜0.01); TC and Improvements of total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C):Group C demonstrated marked decreases in both TC and LDL (CTC & CLDL-C vs.group A,P ＜ 0.01 ; CTC & CLDL-C vs.group B,P ＜ 0.01),no abnormal liver or kidney function occurred during the follow-up period.Thus JZF and ATV may have synergic lipid-lowering effects.And single uses of JZF and ATV have no marked differences in short term efficacy.

Objective To investigate clinical anti-hypertension effect,clinical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome improvement and endothelium function such as cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI),flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) and endothelial micro-particle (EMP) protection of Tianma Gouteng Granule in interfering primary hypertension patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang.Methods Sixty six primary hypertension patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang were randomly divided into the control group (standardized treatment,n =35) and the treatment group (Tianma Gouteng Granule + standardized treatment,n =31) according to the random number method.In four weeks' follow-up treatment,the changes in clinical efficiency,TCM syndrome improvement,CAVI,FMD and EMP were observed.Results (1)Total clinical efficiency ratio was 71.43％ in control vs.70.97％ in treatment without statistical significance (P ＞0.05).(2) TCM syndrome improvement was better in treatment group than that in control group (93.55％ vs 74.29％,x2 =4.39,P ＜ 0.05),especially in improving symptoms such as dissiness,headache,dysphoria in chest,palms and soles,insomia and tinnitus (P ＜ 0.05).(3) In the aspect of endothelium protection,treatment group can greatly improve CAVI compared with control (L-CAVI ∶ t =2.11,P ＜0.05;R-CAVI∶ t =2.15,P ＜0.05) ; the levels of FMD(t =-4.65,P ＜0.01) and EMP (t =4.35,P ＜ 0.01)were significantly improved after treatment (P ＜ 0.05) while no statistical meaning was found between two group.Conclusions Tianma Gouteng Granule can improve TCM syndrome,decrease CAVI level.FMD and EMP were significantly decreased in treatment group.Multi-factor regression analysis showed that EMP level was related to pulse pressure.

Cartilage antuumor component (CATC) was isolated from a 1 mol/L guanidine hydrochloride extract of bovine cartilage by acetone fractioned precipitation and superfiltration. Using human skin fibroblasts as a normal control, it was demonstrated that CATC inhibited the DNA synthesis of Hela, QGY7703 tumor cell lines and bovine artery endothelial cells, but accelerated the normal cells, when the concentration was below 1250 ?g/ml. At the concentration of 5 000 ?g/ml, CATC inhibited the two cell lines. With human tumor stem cell assay, CATC inhibited the stem cell growth of Hela and QGY7703 cell lines. These suggest that CATC has the effects of inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor cells.

Objective To investigate the effects of spinal nerve ligation (SNL) on the changes of intestinal pathology and the levels of serum immunoglobulin in rats with ulcerative colitis.Methods Thirty-six healthy male rats, weighing 200-220 g, were randomly divided into three groups using the random number table method: spinal nerve ligation model group (group SNL), sham-operationgroup (group Sham) and non-operatedcontrol group (group Con), 12 in each group.After the establishment of SNL models, the three groups were given trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid (TNBS) to induce ulcerative colitis.The serum level of immunoglobulin (IgG, IgM) were measured on the day before SNL, before TNBS modeling and 7, 14 d after TNBS modeling, respectively.Besides, the intestinal pathology were observed on 7 d after TNBS modeling.Results The basic values of IgM and IgG before operation were not statistically different among three groups.The level of IgG in group SNL was lower than that in group Sham after SNL operation with no significant difference, but the level of IgM was significantly lower than that of group Sham (P<0.05).On 7 d after TNBS modeling, both levels of IgG and IgM in group SNL were significantly lower than those in group Sham and group Con (P<0.01).On 14 d after TNBS modeling, the level of IgG in group SNL was significantly lower than that in group Sham and group Con (P<0.05).Furthermore, the colon lesions were more extensive and the inflammation was more serious in group SNL than those in group Sham and group Con on 7 d after TNBS modeling.Conclusion Neuropathic pain suppress immune activities, reduces the serum level of IgM and IgG and aggravates intestinal inflammation caused by TNBS.

Objective To evaluate ultrasound-guided methylene blue dyeing for radical liver segmental resection.Methods Liver segmental resection with uhrasound-guide methylene blue dyeing (UMD-SR) was performed in 16 cases, results were compared with 16 conventional liver segmental resection (CSR) retrospectively.Results All the operations under uhrasound-guided methylene blue dyeing were successfully carried out, among them, reverse dyeing was used in cases with segment Ⅳ, Ⅴ, Ⅷ resection.The blood loss in UMD-SR group was much less than CSR group(t =3.011 ,P =0.009) , at the cost of a longer operation time (t =5.423,P =0.000 07).There was no difference in the mortality and morbidity rates between two groups.Tumor recurrence rate was 6.25％ in UMD-SR group and 18.75％ in CSR group (x2 =0.133,P =0.285).Conclusions Ultrasound-guided methylene blue dyeing liver segmental resection can reduce the blood loss during operation, improve the safety of hepatectomy in case of hepatic carcinoma.

Objective To investigate whether rat grimace scale (RGS)could be used to assess pain in chronic pancreatitis,so as to provide evidence for pain research and clinical assessment of rat pain.Methods Twenty-eight adult male wister rats were evenly randomized into two groups (n =14):an experimental group and a control group.The experimental group was intravenously given 8 mg/kg body weight dibutyltin dichloride (DBTC)to induce chronic pancreatitis,and the control group was injected with ethanol and glycerin solution.Abdominal hypersensitivity,RGS scores and weight at different time points was detected.HE staining was used to detect the histological changes of pancre-atic tissue.Results Compared with the control group,the rats in the experimental group showed chro-nic inflammation in pancreatic tissue in two weeks.There was a significant increase in the number of abdominal withdrawals (P < 0.001 )and RGS in the experimental group.Conclusion Rat grimace scale might lead to a successful transition of basic science findings into clinical application.

The event-related potential (ERP) P300 was recorded to analyze the temporal sequences character and the P300 compositions in premeditated and temporary deception. When 15 healthy undergraduates watched the stolen, familiar but not stolen and strange object pictures, the reaction time was recorded and EEG data were collected to analyze the amplitudes of N1, N2 and P3 sub-component of P300 in honesty and deception group respectively through analog theft paradigm. The results showed that the amplitudes of N1, N2 and P3 in premeditated deception group were markedly larger than those in temporary deception, and the reaction time of deception group was longer than that of honesty group. Compared with temporary deception, more attention resources were invested and intensely response conflict was induced by premeditated deception.

Objective To investigate the relationship between H type hypertension as well as the changes of serum lipid and white matter lesions(WML).Methods From January 2015 to October 2017,the clinical characteristics of 507 WML patients who admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical College were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into simple hypertension group(A group,hypertension accompanied by Hcy ＜10μmol/L, 111cases),simple homocysteine group(B group,patients without high blood pressure with homocysteine ＞10μmol/L, 132cases)and H type hypertension group (C group,hypertension accompanied by homocysteine ＞10μmol/L,264cases)according to homocysteine concentration and hypertension.The patients'clinical data,including imaging information such as MRI,diffusion weighted imaging(DWI),and levels of homocysteine (Hcy),serum lipid were collected.The patients were divided into three subgroups based on the severity of WML,including the mild,moderate,severe.The differences of TG,TC,HDL -C,LDL -C,Apo -A1,Apo -B in each group were compared.Results The levels of TC in A,B and C group were (4.14 ±1.16)mmol/L,(4.39 ±1.39)mmol/L,(3.67 ±1.29)mmol/L,respectively.The levels of LDL -C in the three groups were (2.24 ±0.88)mmol/L,(2.38 ±0.91)mmol/L and (1.99 ±0.89)mmol/L,respectively.Compared with A group and B group,the levels of TC and LDL -C in C group were lower(F =15.411,9.271,all P <0.05).In A group,the number of mild WML,moderate and severe WML accounted for 51.4%,32.4% and 16.2%,which in B group accounted for 50.0%,33.3% and 16.7%,which in C group accounted for 32.6%,33.3% and 34.1%.The number of WML patients had statistically significant differences between A group and C group(χ2 =16.407,P <0.05),and B group and C group(χ2 =15.912,P <0.05).In A group,the TC levels in the moderate group [(4.45 ±1.07)mmol/L]and severe group[(5.04 ±0.99)mmol/L] were significantly higher than that in the mild group [(3.68 ±1.03)mmol/L],the difference was statistically significant(F =22.391,P <0.05);the LDL -C level in the severe group[(2.88 ±0.65)mmol/L]was significantly higher than (1.98 ±0.84)mmol/L in the mild group and (2.33 ±0.89)mmol/L in the moderate group(F =14.764,P <0.05).In B group,the TC levels in the moderate group [(4.79 ±1.38)mmol/L]and the severe group [(5.20 ±1.43)mmol/L]were significantly higher than (3.85 ±1.16)mmol/L in the mild group,the difference was statistically significant(F =20.515,P <0.05).Compared with the mild group[(2.13 ±0.83)mmol/L],the LDL –C level was higher in the severe group[(2.81±1.01)mmol/L],the difference was statistically significant(F =9.235, P <0.05).In C group,the levels of TC and LDL -C in the moderate group were (3.94 ±1.22)mmol/L and (2.02 ± 0.74)mmol/L,respectively,which in the severe group were (3.93 ±1.16)mmol/L and (2.30 ±0.85)mmol/L,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the mild group [(3.12 ±1.34 )mmol/L,(1.62 ±0.88)mmol/L],the differences were statistically significant(F =27.141,27.078,all P <0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between hypertension,TC,LDL -C and the severity of WML(H type hypertension:r =0.211,P <0.05;TC:r =0.266,P <0.05;LDL -C:r =0.258,P <0.05).Conclusion H type hypertension and high levels of TC,LDL -C can increase the number and severity of WML.

Objective: To study the correlation between low back pain (LBP) and occupational stress in coal miners. Methods: From January 2015 to December 2016, a total of 472 front-line workers in a mining area of a large-scale coal mining enterprise in Shanxi, China were enrolled in the study. The general information, condition of LBP, and occupational stress level of the subjects were obtained by questionnaire survey. Dichotomous logistic regression (DLR) was used to analyze the correlation between LBP and occupational stress. Results: Of the 472 subjects, 186 subjects experienced LBP in the past year; the prevalence rate of LBP was 39.41%. The scores of the Occupational Role Questionnaire were significantly higher for workers in the LBP group than in the non-LBP group (P<0.01) . As revealed by the DLR analysis, age, marital status, length of service, occupational stress role, labor intensity, keeping single posture during work, and working in shifts were risk factors of LBP (P<0.01) , while smoking may be a protective factor against LBP (P<0.01) . Conclusion Occupational stress role is a potential risk factor for LBP in coal miners (P<0.01) . Reasonable work assignment and timely alleviation of occupational stress may be one of the effective approaches to prevent LBP.
