Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1998;0(S1):-
N-acetyltransferase are phase II code proteins with overlapping substrate specifici-DMEs, and two highly similar human NAT gene ty. NAT2 is a polymorphic acetyltransferase gene (designated NAT1 and NAT2) are shown to en- locus and "slow acetylation" in humans is due tonutations in the single coding exon of the NAT2 gene. It was also demonstrated that there exist discrete NAT1 structural variants, and differences in tissue levels of NAT1 among humans are related to specific sequence differences in the NAT1 structural gene. Biochemical studies have shown that NAT1 and NAT2 play an important role in the metabolism of some carcinogens, epidemiological studies have revealed an association between ploy-morphisms of NATs and increased cancer risk.Metabolic phenotypes/genotypes can significantly influence DAN adduct formation and could ultimately lead to alterations in cancer risk. If unequivocal biomarkers of genetic susceptibility to cancer can be developed successfully, then identification of individuals at increased risk would be very helpful in the fields of public health and preventive medicine.

Cancer Research and Clinic 2017;29(3):184-187
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of the laparoscopic radical resection and the conventional laparotomy for colorectal cancer. Methods The clinical data of 106 patients with colorectal cancer treated by surgery from March 2011 to January 2016 were retrospectively analyzed, including 55 patients receiving laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic group) and 51 patients treated by traditional surgery (conventional laparotomy group). The clinical effects of both groups were compared. Results The operation time in conventional laparotomy group was shorter than that in laparoscopic group [(141.2 ±40.6) min vs. (192.0±32.5) min, t=7.136, P<0.05]. The blood loss of the laparoscopic operation group was lower than that of conventional laparotomy group [(81.2 ±16.5) ml vs. (168.0 ±36.2) ml, t= 16.077, P< 0.05]. The recovery time of gastrointestinal function and hospital stay time in laparoscopic surgery group were significantly shorter than those in the laparotomy group (t= 12.236, t= 9.524, all P< 0.05). There were no statistical differences in the number of captured lymph nodes, complications and the length of bowel resection between two groups (all P>0.05). There were no severe complications and death case in both groups. Patients were followed up for 10-60 months, and there were no significant differences on recurrence and metastasis between two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Compared with the conventional laparotomy, laparoscopic radical resection is an effective method for the treatment of colorectal cancer with small trauma, less bleeding and fast recovery, which is worthy of clinical application.

A 58-year-old female was admitted to the hospital for a 3-month history of erythema, pustules and vegetating plaques on the lips and scalp,as well as in intertriginous areas. She had a 2-year history of ulcerative colitis, which had been aggravated before the development of skin lesions.Skin examination demonstrated diffuse thickening of both lips covered with multiple granule-to mung bean-sized confluent pustules.Yellow crusts were observed at the lip margins.A 1.5 cm × 2 cm vegetating plaque surrounded by anular pustules was found in the left buccal mucosa. There were multiple irregularly-sized vegetating plaques with erosions and yellow crusts on the scalp, neck,as well as in the periumbilical and left inguinal and axillary region, and annular vesicles and pustules were observed in the center and margin of these plaques. The lesions subsided leaving hyperpigmented macules. There were four fresh pustules in the right axillary region.Histological examination of a biopsy specimen taken from the lower lip margin revealed mild hyperplasia of and neutrophil microabscess in the epidermis,as well as a dense inflammatory infiltrate composed mostly of neutrophils and eosinophils with microabscess formation in the dermis.Direct immunofluorescence examination of the normal-appearing skin next to the lesions was negative. The percentage of peripheral blood eosinophil was slightly elevated.Bacterial and fungal cultures of pustular contents were negative.A diagnosis of pyodermatitis-pyostomatitis vegetans was made.
