Oncomelania hupensis which plays an important role in the transmission of schistosomiasis japonica is the only intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum and carrying out studies on its subspecies differentiation and genetic variation will have an important significance for schistosomiasis control. In this paper the research progress of taxonomy and discrimination techniques of O. hupensis is reviewed at four levels namely the morphological level the cellular level the protein level and the DNA molecule level and DNA sequencing technology is considered as the ideal taxonomy and discrimination technique of O. hupensis and the future research emphasis.

An analysis is made according to policy documents of localities on capitation payment, and by means of literature review and the analysis framework of the World Bank,this paper reviewed studied the following:definition of service package,per capita rate,designated institutions,design of financial regulations,and service supervision.Given the attempts made at localities,most of the schemes are incomplete in design,and defective in capitation measurement methods and dynamic adjustment mechanisms.The authors recommend a systematic design of the capitation payment scheme for better outcomes.

AIM: To investigate the effect of Dendranthema morifolium (Ramat) Tzvel (DM) on isolated rat heart and ventricular myocytes during ischemia/anoxia and reperfusion/reoxygenation.METHODS: The Langendorff perfused rat hearts were used to measure intraventricular pressure and coronary flow. The cell contraction and intracellular calcium transient in enzymatically isolated ventricular myocytes were determined. RESULTS: (1) DM (0.5 g/L) significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects induced by ischemia/reperfusion on left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP), ?dp/dt max, coronary flow and LVDP?HR, meanwhile increased the content of SOD and decreased the content of MDA in the myocardium; (2) DM (0.5 g/L) attenuated the inhibitory effects of anoxia and reoxygenation on [Ca 2+]i transient and cell contraction in isolated ventricular myocytes. CONCLUSION: DM attenuated the effects on contractility and intracellular calcium induced by ischemia/anoxia and reperfusion/reoxygenation in the isolated rat heart and the ventricular myocytes. The mechanism might be related to increase in SOD activity and maintaining [Ca 2+]i homeostasis.

ObjectiveTo analyze the dead reasons in treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by emergent percutaneous coronary intervention (EPCI) during perioperation. Methods The clinical characteristics of the dead patients,results of EPCI and reasons of death were retrospectively analyzed in 473 patients with AMI who received EPCI treatment during March 2004 to March 2011. ResultsAmong the 18 cases(3.8％)dead patients,there were 8 case with three-vessel lesions,5 cases with two-vessel lesions, 2 cases with single vessel lesion and 3 cases with left main lesion. Nine patients were accompanied with hypertensions,5 cases with diabetes mellitus, 1 case with old myocardial infarction, 2 cases with old cerebral infarction, 1 case with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated by severe pneumonia, and 1 case with chronic renal insufficiency. Nine patients died of cardiogenic shocks , 4 cases (22. 2％) of heart ruptures, 2 cases (11.1％) of noreflow,1 case (5.6％) of massive hemorrhage of the upper alimentary tract, 1 case (5.6％) of respiratory failure and 1 cases (5.6％) of refractory ventricular fibrillation.ConclusionsPrimary reasons for perioperative death were cardiac shock and heart rupture in treatment of acute myocardial infarction by EPCI. Multi-vessel lesion, complications with hypertensions and diabetes mellitus may serve as succumbed factors of death.

Objective: To observe the effects of Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet, a compound Chinese herbal medicine, on serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) level and MMP-9 expression in peripheral blood monocytes of rats with streptozocin-induced diabetes. Methods: Thirty Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group, untreated group and Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group. Diabetes in rats was induced by a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozocin (70mg/kg body weight). After model building, rats in the Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group were administered with Jinqi Jiangtang tablets at a dose of 0.8 g/(kg·d) for 6 weeks and rats in the control group and the untreated group were treated with normal saline. After treatment, level of fasting serum glucose was detected by hexokinas method; serum MMP-9 level was tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay; MMP-9 expression in peripheral blood monocytes was measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot method. Results: After treatment, fasting serum glucose level in the Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group was less than that in the untreated group (P<0.05). After modeling, the serum MMP-9 level of rats in the untreated group was (9.11±3.55) μg/L and that in Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group was (8.97±3.07) μg/L, which were higher than that in the control group ((4.39±1.44) μg/L) (P<0.01). After gavage, the level of serum MMP-9 was lower in Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group than in the untreated group (P<0.05). The expression of MMP-9 in peripheral blood monocytes in the untreated group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The MMP-9 expression in peripheral blood monocytes of rats with diabetes was down-regulated by Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet (P<0.05). Conclusion: Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet can decrease the level of serum MMP-9 and down-regulate the MMP-9 expression in peripheral blood monocytes at both mRNA and protein levels in rats with diabetes.

OBJECTIVE: To better implement Edition 2005 of China Pharmacopeia in order to ensure the safety and rationalization of drug use.METHODS:551 categories of medicinal materials and cut crude drugs in Edition 2005 of China Pharmacopeia(Volume One) was classified on the basis of descriptions of their toxin and precautions.RESULTS:10 categories were classified as extremely poisonous,37 toxic,25 slightly toxic,479 nontoxic.5 categories were classified as contraindication in pregnancy,28 prohibited in pregnancy,38 cautiously used in pregnancy.1 category was classified as prohibited for children.So_me varieties of “Eighteen incompatible medicaments” and “Nineteen medicaments of mutual antagonism” were not mentioned.CONCLUSION:Although there is only small part of categories with toxin and precautions,much attention should be paid to.The use of these materials or drugs should strictly abide by Edition 2005 of China Pharmacopeia.

AIM: To investigate the effect of interleukin-2 (IL-2) on the intracellular calcium in electrically stimulated adult rat ventricular myocytes during anoxia and reoxygenation. METHODS: The isolated cardiac ventricular myocytes were exposed to 5 min anoxia followed by 10 min reoxygenation. Chemical anoxia was introduced by Krebs-Henseleit (K-H) solution containing 10 -3 mol/L sodium dithionite. The spectrofluorometric method was used to verify intracellular calcium transient with fura-2/AM as calcium fluorescence probe. RESULTS: It was shown that during anoxia, the amplitude of Ca 2+ transient was decreased, diastolic [Ca 2+ ] i, time to peak and time to relaxation of Ca 2+ transient were increased. All the parameters were got back but did not returned to the pre-anoxia level during reoxygenation. IL-2 at 2?10 5 U/L administrated during anoxia aggravated the effect of rexoxygenation on [Ca 2+ ] i transient. Pretreatment with a specific ? opioid antagonist, nor-BNI (10 -8 mol/L), abolished the effect induced by IL-2 during anoxia on the [Ca 2+ ] i transients, whereas specific ? opioid antagonist, naltrindole (10 -6 mol/L), did not cancel the effect. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that administration of IL-2 during anoxia aggravated the effect of reoxygenation on the [Ca 2+ ] i transients of isolated ventricular myocytes, which was mediated by cardiac ? opioid receptor pathway.

OBJECTIVE:To gain a clear idea about the situation of marking the period of validity on the wrapper and specifications of patent Chinese materia medica(PCMM) in China METHODS:To investigate the period of validity marking on wrapper and internal packing of 369 commonly-used PCMM in our hospital RESULTS:The PCMM with period of validity marking accounted for 65 9% of total PCMM(usually 1 5～3 years) and those without period of validity accounted for 34 1% CONCLUSION: The absence of period of validity marking is very common,we should pay attention to it

Objective To explore the cause of the thyroid reoperation ,methods,surgical approach ,and the prevention of complications .Methods 39 cases of thyroid reoperation in patients with clinical data were reviewed and analyzed.Results Thyroid papillary carcinoma in 11 cases,follicular carcinoma in 2 cases,nodular 22 cases of thyroid,thyroid adenoma 1 case,3 cases of primary hyperthyroidism .The incidence of transient hypoparathyroidism ac-counted for 2 cases,temporary laryngeal recurrent nerve injury in 2 cases,chyle leakage in 1 case,in total of 12.8%of postoperative complications .Conclusion Improper operation method choice for the first time and the misdiagnosis was the main cause of reoperation , The reoperation of thyroid is difficult and has more complications .Preoperative evaluation and careful operation can prevent the occurrence of complications .

Objective To explore the risk factors of cerebral schistosomiasis japonica. Methods A total of 37 confirmed cases,diagnosed during 1999-2004 in Anhui Province,were involved in the study as case group. Three controls for each case were selected from the general population either without schistosomiasis,with chronic schistosomiasis or with acute schistosomiasis. The relevant risk factors on the disease were analyzed.
