Study on Rank—Frequency Distribution of Scientific Research Papers by Chinese University famous teacher teaching in biomedicine domain from 2003 to 2009.Whose quantitative indicators of scientific papers were negative logarithmic distribution,except provincial-level teaching famous teachers' SCI papers were negative exponential distribution. The qualitative index were negative logarithmic,except state-level teaching famous teachers' SCI paper yearly average paper cited were linear distribution and provincial-level were negative exponent distribution.The magnitude of concentrations was between 0.257 and 0.728,which deviates from the Price's law (0.50). It indicates that the Rank-frequency distribution model can be applied to the teaching famous teacher.The internal gradation instrument in the top scientists is different from in science community.Scientist's gradation in the science community depends on whether the objective of scientific paper evaluation comes true.The state-level teaching famous teacher scientific paper difference is greater than the provincial-level; SCI paper difference is bigger than the CSCD paper.

Objective To investigate the effect of rosiglitazone on the CD4+regulatory T cells in the patients with latent autoimmune diabetes in adults(LADA).Methods The CIM+T cells from IADA patients were isolated with anti-CD4-dynal magnetic beads.The expression of Foxp3 mRNA,along with peroxisome proliferators activator receptors gamma(PPARγ)mRNA and TGF-131 mRNA was determined.The effect of rosiglitazone on CD4+T cells was measured,after treated with rosiglitazone for 48 h.Cell viability was assessed by Mtit assay.The proliferation was assayed with 3 H-TdR.Two-color staining(anti-CD4,anti-CD25)flow cytometric analysis was employed to measure the percentage of CD4+CD25+T cells of Deriph eral blood.Resuits PPARγmRNA was expressed in peripheral CD4+T lymphocytes.RosiglitazoBe inhibited phytohemagglutinin(PHA)-induced human CD4+T cell proliferation in dose dependence.The percentage of CD4+CD25+T cells showed no significant change after the peripheral blood culture with 1 μmol/Land 10μmot/L rosiglitazone.10 μmol/L of rosiglitazone induced Foxp3 mRNA expression in vitro (3.27fold,P<0.05),whereas TGF-β1 mRNA expression did not change.Furthermore,only 1 μmol/L of rosiglitazone could promote Foxp3 mRNA expression if adding IL-2(10 U/m1)in cultures(3.48 fold.P

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety on once-daily (OD) insulin detemir (IDet) in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were treated with different types or combinations of oral anti-diabetic drugs (OADs).Methods The SOLVETM study was a 24-week observational study on the initiation of IDet OD in T2DM patients with uncontrolled hyperglycemia on diet,exercise,and one or more OADs.Subjects were grouped based on the numbers of OADs taken before (＞ 2-OAD,2-OAD,and 1-OAD groups).Efficacy and safety endpoints were evaluated and compared in different groups.Results This study includes 3 272 patients,among them 464 (14.2％) were treated with more than 2OADs,1511 (46.2％) with 2OADs,and 1 218 (37.2％) with 1OAD before the study.The mean glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) was 8.4％,8.3％,8.4％ at baseline,and 7.3％,7.2％,7.1％ at the end of 24-week in each 3 groups (all P ＜0.001 vs.baseline values).The HbA1c reductions were not statistically significant different among groups.Body weight tended to decrease in patients from all groups,however,only that in the 2-OAD group reached statistically significance.No major hypoglycaemia events were reported.However,the overall minor hypoglycaemia rate in the 2-OAD group was higher at the end of the study than that at baseline (P ＜ 0.05).No differences in the rate of nocturnal minor hypoglycaemia were observed in all groups after IDet treatment.Conclusion Initiation of IDet OD was effective and well-tolerated in Chinese patients with T2DM whose glycemia was poorly controlled on OADs irrespective of the number of OADs taken before.(registration number NCT00825643)

Objective To explore the relationship between apolipoprotein E gene polymorphism and cerebral infarction in Taishun county.Methods Determination of 112 cases of Taishun Siqian cerebral infarction patients and healthy persons 88 cases of ApoE gene polymorphism,and the cerebral infarction patients were admitted to the hospital for different period of time after the NIHSS score.Results The cerebral infarction group and the control group were ApoE -/3 genotype most were 70.5%(79 /112)and 63.6%(56 /88),both had significant difference(P >0.05);The cerebral infarction group and the control group in terms of ApoE -up to 3,respectively 82.1%(92 /112)and 75.6%(66.5 /88),both had no significant difference (P >0.05).The cerebral infarction group epsilon 4 to 9.8%(11 /112),and was significantly higher than that of the control group 4.0%(3.5 /88);E2 was 6.2% (7 /112), which was significantly lower than that of the control group [19.3% (17 /88)],the differences were significant (χ2 =6.189,7.970,all P <0.05).Carrying ApoE -4 of the cerebral infarction patient each time period at the time of admission,admission 7d and 14d NIHSS scores were not carrying epsilon 4 patients increased significantly (t =7.853,6.185,5.165,allP <0.05);and at each time point carrying epsilon 2 gene in patients with and without carry-ing epsilon 2 patients NIHSS scores had no significant difference (P >0.05 ).Conclusion Cerebral infarction patients ApoE gene polymorphism and disease progression and prognosis are closely related,ApoE -4 Taishun Siqian cerebral infarction patients predisposing factors.At the same time,the detection of apoE genotype and NIHSS score is helpful to the prognosis of the patients.

Objective To investigate the difference of curative effects between the complete video assisted thoracic surgery (C-VATS)and traditional open surgery in the treatment of elderly patients with lung cancer,and to clarify the specially curative effect of C-VATS.Methods 80 patients with lung cancer without diabetes mellitus,chronic brouchitis and heart diseases aged over 65 years were enrolled in the study.They were divided into C-VATS group and open surgery for lobectomy (OPEN)group (n=40)according their wishes.The operation time,number of lymph nodes removed,amount of intraoperative blood loss,postoperative thoracic drainage,chest tube duration, postoperative hospitalized time, postoperative pain degree, incidence of postoperative complications, preoperative and postoperative sedentary heart rate (HR)of the patients in two groups were compared.Results The operation time in C-VATS group(193.12 min±59.06 min)was longer than that in OPEN group(167.17 min±54.01 min) (P<0.05),and the number of lymph nodes removed in C-VATS group(14.6±7.5)had no significant difference compared with OPEN group(15.2 ± 4.5)(P>0.05).The postoperative pain degree in C-VATS group(2.54 ± 0.12)was lower than that in OPEN group(4.61 ± 0.10)(P<0.05);the postoperative chest rube duration in C-VAS group(6.14 d ± 3.32 d)was short than that in OPEN group (11.67 d ± 4.13 d);the postperative hospitalized time in C-AVA group(8.52 d±3.25 d)was shorter than that in OPEN group (14.76 d±6.11 d)(P<0.05).There were no significant differences of intraoperative blood loss(231.28 mL±203.15 mL vs 213.33 mL± 187.18 mL),postoperative thoracic draginage(1 597.83 mL± 1 049.29 mL vs 1 690.68 mL± 1 043.37 mL), incidence of postoperative complications between C-VATS group and OPEN group(P>0.05).The postoperative sedentary HR in C-VATS group and OPEN group were significantly higher than preoperative;the postoperative sedentary HR recovered to the preoperative level 3 d after operation in C-VATS group and it recovered to the preoperative level 7 d after operation in OPEN group. Conclusion Compared with traditional open thoracic surgery, C-VATS owns the characteristics such as less trauma, less pain, less hospital stay and better postoperative recovery in the aged patients with lung cancer.

Objective To clone shRNA (short hairpin RNA) recombinant plasmid targeting on COX-2 gene and analyze the nucleic acid sequence of the recombinant plasmid. Methods One pair of 21 bp reverse repeated sequence targeting on COX-2 mRNA spaced by 9 bp nucleotides were synthesized. The complement double strands was formed by annealing and inserted into plasmid pGenesil-1 to generate eukaryotic expression plasmid. The recombinant plasmid was transformed into Jm109 strain, and the recombinant plasmid extracted was identified by restriction enzyme and sequence analysis. Inhibition effects of COX-2 mRNA and protein were detected by RT-PCR and Western blotting respectively. Results The target DNA was directly cloned to vector and the result was correct by sequence analysis. Compared to untransfected group, recombinant expression plasmid pshRNA-COX-2 resulted in reduction of COX-2 mRNA and protein expression to 69.9% and 50.3% respectively. Conclusion The recombinant plasmid targeting on COX-2 gene was successfully constructed, and it inhibited the expression of COX-2 gene significantly.

Objective To assess the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) and explore the associated risk factors with MS among 35 ～ 80 years elderly people in Changsha.Methods The survey used by cluster random sampling method (from October to December,2008 ) was carried out by the Physical Examination Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital,Changsha.All subjects aged from 35 to 80 years old had the questionnaires,physical examination,and biochemical measurements.MS was defined by IDF 2005.Results The prevalence of MS was 24.3％ among elderly people in Changsha.The prevalence of MS in male and female was 27.9％ and 19.3％,respectively; which in male was significantly higher than in females ( P ＜0.01).According to census of 2000 in Changsha,the age-adjusted rate of MS was 24.4％ among elderly people,27.8％ in male and 21.9％ in female,respectively.The metabolic abnormalities and the prevalence rate of MS were different in gender and age.Except the essential component of the central obesity in the 194 cases of MS patients,there are 80 cases include other two kinds of metabolic abnormalities,accounting for 41.2％,most of them with elevated blood pressure + sugar metabolism disorders; the most common three kinds of metabolic abnormalities of the 78 cases,accounting for 40.2％ of the people with MS,most of them with high TG + elevated blood pressure + sugar metabolism disorders; With 4 kinds of metabolic abnormalities of 36 patients,accounting for 18.6％ of the MS patients.Increasing age,male,overweight and (or) obesity,high LDL-C hematic disease,high uric acid hematic disease,diabetes were all the risk factors of the elderly people in Changsha city.Conclusions Elderly people in Changsha have a relatively high prevalence of MS,especially for male.The prevalence of MS is considerably high in Changsha,which may continue to rising with the social economic development and population aging.There is an urgent need to take actions to reduce the burden of MS.
