Enzyme-histochemical investigations on experimental incised injury of thirty rabbits fortiming of wound were reported.In peripheral areas of wounds,strong reaction of six kinds ofdehydratase(ACP.AKP,ATP.ANAE.?—GA,?—Gr).were demonstrated 1～2 hrs followingincision while no reaction of four kinds of dehydrogenase(LDH.SDH.NADH.?—GPDH)werefound.The activity of dehydratase are explained by the enhanced metabolism of fibrocytes and theaggregation of acute inflammatory cells.The author suggests that the positive enzyme histochemicalreactions indicate the vital reaction in the first two hours,and PTAH staining is helpful for thediagnosis of micro—exudation of fibrin in the early stage of injury

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of Cyclosporin A(CyA) in the treatment of psoriasis is well recongized, the dosage less than 5mg/kg per day(mg/kg/d) is recommended. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the indication, dose, course and side-effects of CyA therapy for psoriasis, especially in China. METHODS: Forty patients with psoriasis were treated with doses of CyA 5mg/kg/d, compared with 20 patients treated with Tigason lmg/kg/d by Global PAST. RESULTS: 1. Of 40 patients 33 patients (82.5%)were cured clinically in 4-5weeks and all the patients(100%) had responses to the therapy. 2. The efficacy and the Global PASI reduction of CyA therapy were significantly better than that of Tigason therapy. 3. During the CyA therapy, no severe side-effects and obvious laboratory changes were found. CONCLUSION: CyA(5mg/kg/d) was satisfactory for psoriasis, especially for psoriasis pustulosa, arthropathica and erythroderma. CyA was found to be superior to Tigason. The therapy course and side-effects seemed to be related to the dosage.

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of itraconazole in treatment of onychomycosis and its influence on nail growth speed. Methods: In a multicentre open study involving 15 medical units nationwide, patients with onychomycosis were treated with orally itraconazole pulse therapy. At each stage after treatment, the clinical efficacy,mycological efficacy, and side-effects of the therapy and the net growth length of normal nail deck were observed.Results: The therapy had a satisfactory efficacy and prolonged effect in treating onychomycosis for both affected fingers and toe nails. The therapy was effective for onychomycosis infected with dermatophyton, yeast or non-dermatophyton fungus and had a fungus-eliminating-rate of 97.86%. The average net growth length of normal nail deck in affected toe nails was slightly longer than that in finger nails on 6 months and 9 months after treatment.No severe side effects were found. Conclusion: Itraconazole pulse therapy is effective and safe for onychomychosis and can increase nail growth length,especially for toe nails.

Objective To research the application of oral ambroxol in improving positive rate of sputum smear laboratory testing of Tuberculosis.Methods After immediate microscopic phlegm examination on 1 536 tuberculosis outpatients,them were divided into two groups alternatively and randomly.The referential group took oral placebo while the test group took oral ambroxol.Recheck would be conducted onmorning phlegm after three days,then comprated the positive rate of each group.Results The positive rates of immediate microscopic phlegm examination of the referential and test groups were 4.82％ and 4.56％ (x2 =0.058,P＞0.05) respectively.For the referential group,the positive rates before and after taking medicine were 4.82％ and 5.60％ respectively (x2 =0.475,P＞0.05).The differences had no statistic meaning.The positive rates of morning microscopic phlegm examination after taking medicine of the referential and test groups were 5.60％ and 8.59 ％ ()x2 =5.224,P＜0.05) respectively.The positive rates of the test group before and after taking medicine were 4.56 ％ and 8.59％ respectively (x2 =10.18,P＜0.05).It could be deemed that the difference had statistic meaning.Conclusion O-ral ambroxol can help raise the positive rate of microscopic phlegm examination of the patient with suspected tuberculosis.

Objective To investigate the cardioprotective effect of losartan o n subtotal nephrectomy renal failure rats. Methods Renal failure rats were estab lished by subtotal nephrectomy, and then divided into RF group with subtotal nep hrectomy,RF+Los group with additional losartan(10 mg?kg-1?d-1) gavage. Rats underwent sham operation(sham group) with normal saline gavage as control. Hear t changes of experimental rats were observed 12 weeks after operation. Results T he RF group developed hypertension of arterial systolic blood pressure(SBP) and myocardiac myocytes hypertrophy. The levels of collagen type Ⅰ,type Ⅲ,and fi bronectin in endocardium and surrounding intracardial coronary arteries adventit ia of the RF group were significantly increased as compared to those of the sham group. The SBP and the levels of collagen type Ⅰ,Ⅲand fibronectin were marked ly decreased in the RF+Los group as compared to those of the RF group.Expressio n of angiotensin Ⅱsubtype 1 receptor (AT1R) mRNA in the myocardium of the RF+L os group was significantly down regulated as compared to that of RF group. Concl usions Losartan can prevent the cardiac ventricular remodeling with left ventric ular hypertrophy (LVH) and myocardial interstitial fibrosis by the depression of renin-angiotensin system through the down-regulation of myocardiac AT1R mRNA.

Objective To clarify the helical CT features and anatomic distribution of recurrence and metastasis of postoperative esophageal cancer.Methods Fifty patients ( 43 men , 7 women , ages 42~76 , mean 58 years ) with postoperative esophageal cancer underwent helical CT examination.On the basis of axial CT imaging , CT features were evaluated , including types , anatomic distribution and time of recurrence in patients with postoperative esophageal cancer .Results Among 50 patients , 31 patients developed recurrence and metastasis. Of 31 patients , 12 patients had recurrence of upper gastrointestinal tract , including esophagogastric anastomoses (n = 8), esophageal stump (n =1) , and intrathoracic stomach (n=3). Lymph node metastasis were investigated in 28 cases , which included right upper paratracheal (2R, n=11), and subcarinal right(7+8, n=11) ; 13 patients possessed lymph node metastasis of two and over-two regions ; Five patients had abdominal para-aortic lymph node metastasis. Metastasis of lung, liver and pancreas were discovered in 8, 7 and 1, respectively. There were six with pleural fluid . Objective To evaluate the helical CT features of miliary tuberculosis and pulmonary miliary metastatic nodules so thatimproving the correct diagnosis of the miliary lung diseases.Methods Helical CT or high resolution CT features (distribution and size of miliary nodule and attenuation of the lung) of 34 patients with miliary tuberculosis and 54 patients with pulmonary miliary metastatic nodules were retrospectively reviewed.Results The uniformly distribution and size of the bilateral lung were observed in 28 (28/34, 82%) and 23 (23/34, 68%) cases of miliary tuberculosis,5(5/54, 9%) and15(15/54, 28%)cases of pulmonary metastases ( P

Objective To summarize the clinical features and vascular lesions in patients who suffered from cerebellar infarction with vertebral artery hypoplasia(VAH). Methods Retrospective analysis was used in the research. The selected patients suffered from cerebellar infarction with VAH or stenosis (stenosis rate≥50%). Seventy-one patients with cerebellar infarction were enrolled. There were 34 patients in VAH group and 37 patients in vertebral artery stenosis group. The age, sex, risk factors, clinical manifestations and characteristics of vascular examination were compared. Results The age, sex, risk factors between two groups had no significant differences (P>0.05). The scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) between two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05). The proportion of early neurological deterioration in VAH group (41.2%, 14/34) was higher than that in vertebral artery stenosis group (18.9%, 7/37), χ2=4.21, P<0.05. There were more patients with anterior circulation artery stenosis in the VAH group (35.3%, 12/34), compared with that in artery stenosis group (13.5%, 5/37),χ2=4.62, P<0.05. Except the ipsilateral vertebral artery, other arteries stenosis in VAH group (44.1%, 15/34) was significantly higher than that in vertebral artery stenosis group (13.5%, 5/37),χ2=8.20, P<0.05. Conclusions Cerebellar infarction with vertebral artery hypoplasia is more likely to have multiple cerebral arterial stenosis (stenosis rate ≥50%). The patients who suffered from cerebellar infarction with vertebral artery hypoplasia might be prone to early neurological deterioration.

Objective To observe the effects of electrical acupuncture for the treatment of neurogenic detrusor overactivity (DO) caused by spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods Twenty SCI patients with DO were included in this study. There were 18 males and 2 females;age ranged from 17 to 58 years. Patients were given electro-acupuncture treatment at the bilateral S3 foramen at the lateral position during the vidio-urodynamic investigation when the detrusor of the patients began to contract.The different intensities of electrical stimulation were used when the DO appeared during cystometry and the most effective intensity to inhibit DO was determined. Then, the bladder was emptied and the stimulation with selected intensity was used at the beginning of cystometry. The changes of parameters in the urodynamics, the urinary incontinence times per day and the pad used per day were recorded. The acute effects were observed. Ten days were set as one course and after 3 courses and 9 courses the patients underwent urodynamic test again. The long-term effects were observed.Results After treatment, the urinary incontinence times per day and the pad used per day decreased obviously (P<0. 05). The bladder capacity increased significantly and the maximum intravesical pressure decreased significantly. There were 3 patients having the long terms treatment. Conclusions The Chinese electro-acupuncture at S3 foramen in the SCI patients with DO is demonstrated effective. After the treatment bladder capacity could increase and the times of the urinary incontinence per week decrease.

AIM: To study the expression of c-jun in brain stem following moderate lateral fluid percussion brain injury in rats, and to observe the temporal patterns of its expressions following percussion.METHODS: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into normal control, sham operation control and injury groups. The rats of injury group subjected to moderate lateral fluid percussion injury (0.2 mPa), and then were subdivided into 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 8 h and 12 h groups according to the time elapsed after injury. The expression of c-jun was studied by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. RESULTS: After percussion for 15 min, Jun positive neurons increased in brain stem progressively, and peaked at 12h. At 5min after percussion, the induction of c-jun mRNA was increased, and remained elevated up to 1h-2h after brain injury. CONCLUSION: The induction and expression of the c-jun in brain stem after fluid percussion brain injury were increased rapidly and lasted for a long time.
